Thanks for sharing. You are sharing great info to the public on when to picked the fruits, plus where you are living it makes a big difference on when the avocado fruit will be mature and what to look for. The city/location/climate effect the maturity of the fruits. Southern California, Central Valley, Central Coast/ inland Central Coast/ Bay Area, Northern California. The fruits will ripe differently in every region of California.
@@Betty599 hi Betty, I love all your great trees. We will have to do a scion swap one day, you probably already have all the varieties I have, I'm at 41 different varieties of avocado. BTW, I am in Southern California, around orange county and the IE.
@@AvocadoTalk Yes! I agree. I will give you all of the name of varieties that I have. Plus the next time if you make an order to Brokaw Nursery let me know. Thanks.
I remember hearing people complain about the tree and as a result I didn't get one. Then years later I had some & realized that was a mistake. I have one now. Hopefully it does well for me. I was discussing with some people & it sounds like was released when the winters were horrible for a few years.@AvocadoTalk
@growyourownavocados the 2 complaints a trusted friend said was he didn't like the tree structure, a little floppy. Also it is an alternate bearer. We'll see if I get fruit next year.
Good video. Do you have a Julia or know when the typical season is for S. CA? I’ve got my first 2 fruits on a small tree in a pot. They look a lot like GEM with the yellow dots. Waiting patiently…
@@sheens9193 congrats on your fruit, I don't have one but heard it's good. The database states Aug-Nov, but I don't know for sure. Keep me updated, I might have to get one too. Thanks for watching!
I live in Stockton and my Hass bloomed this spring. I have already been taking a few off a week and they have been good after ripening on the counter for a little over a week. In the past I have picked from November until into May. When they get a little of the frosty not shiny look I know they are ready. Some of the have that now.
@@dianeswartz884 I picked some Hass just to see, just tried Jan Boyce and it was already tasting better than my Mexicola Grande. Congrats on your fruit and thanks for watching!
REM I need to let my 77 mom study this video. She keeps picking my 2024 Reeds off my trees at her Vista home and complaining to me they don’t ripen up and taste good. She just ignores all my advice about waiting until Summer. “ they are big they must be ripe “. At my place in Bay Area 2023 Reed and Lamb are excellent right now as well as 2023 fall bloom Carmen. 2024 Fuerte are just starting to be ready to eat. A 2024 Nabal fell off one of my 5 Nabal Trees and it was disgusting, Same with 2024 Nimlioh - just awful right now ! As usual trapping and deporting lots of UFO’s. Their new home is a huge homeless camp in San Jose called “The Jungle”. 😇
I'm sure I missed some stuff, comment down below the things that help you identify when it's time to pick your avocados.
Very good info!

Thanks. That would make sense if it’s similar to its Nabal parent. Looking forward to it.
