Love this line and I now have at least 1 of each mold (technically a hair over 60, though the official count is 59). There is a definite evolution in their designs, though I am sure some would quibble over whether these were all improvements. Certainly the older ones (from Dio to Behemoth) were intentionally cartoony and cute and very cubic. I know some (not me) who preferred that aesthetic. Over time they became less cute, more mechanical, and now moving towards more organic.
Schlegel is actually one of their older toys - #16 in the BeastBox series, I believe. Of these three he has the most interesting transformation though parts can get in the way (not as bad as his sharky remold though) but think the gator mode is just ok. Mortal Coil has a great beast mode, but an unsatisfying box that just doesn't come together right and as such his transformation isn't satisfying. They were selling a nice hexagonal pond display for his flamingo mold mate (Floyd) to stand on, but it works for both. Shovelhead is probably the most solid of the three but also the least remarkable, too. A fairly safe, middle of the road figure. Note that he is a boar, not a warthog. They actually released a remold as a BotCon exclusive called Snarliehog that has a warthog head. He's recolored to be a G1 Pretender Snarler homage and his box is pink and sparkles like energon! The owl (White Noise, Nocturne, Rapsody) is probably the best mold overall, but I highly recommend the beetle (DemonDart, Nightcrawler, or Zephyr), the octopus Oldone, the orthocone DeepSpiral, the parrot (Echoblaster, Sonicripple, Blossom, Blue McCaw) and the stegosaur/ankylosaur/kaiju mold (at least 6 versions as of now), and the dog team (Roarmeo, Jawliet, Boney, Clawde).
These remind me so much to those knock off toys we got at the flea market, and I'm not saying they look cheap or anything, but that there was an air of mystery about cool looking robots with a great design that made you imagine as a kid a lot of adventures and wonder what were they from.
On the one hand, The transformation is interesting and the cube mode makes for compact and tidy storage. On the other hand, it's hard to get excited for an old mode that is a literal cube. I actually display my transformers in their alt modes. Studio Series Sideways an SS18 Bumblebee basically live in their alt modes while SS93 Hot Rod's modes are so good I constantly alternate between the two.
We need a whole compilation of times that his camera is out of focus, and him mentioning it and perfectly fitting into the sentence he was already in the middle of
You should definitely check out the new one called down spiral it's really cool and looks a lot like a Reaper from Mass Effect. I also wholeheartedly agree that they should do a crossover with Transformers and do something similar to what the company Lucky cat did with Devastator. Speaking of if you like the Box formers you should definitely check out the lucky cat Devastator as it not only turns into Cubes but they each turn into cybertronian vehicles and a cybertronian combiner plus individual cybertronian robot mode
Fun fact: the crocodile is an older mold, from earlier on. However, they repainted to fit into the realistic repain subline and rereleased it just recently. Mine is a fiddly mess, but from what youre sayingz it sounds like theyve rereleased it with better plastic and tolerances, so that sounds good. Maybe i shouldve waited for that lol Have you seen beastdrive? Theyre doing a pteranodan with retools of bat and wyver so that looks cool. Theyre also doing their own megazord line with their own original designs, so im looking forward to that. And an even bigger 7cm box scorpion, part of their new even bigger subline, so look forward to that!
Before time began, there was the Cube. We know not where it comes from, only that it holds the power to create worlds and fill them with life. That is how our race was born. For a time, we lived in harmony, but like all great power, some wanted it for good, others for evil. And so began the war, a war that ravaged our planet until it was consumed by the death, and the Cube was lost to the far reaches of space. We scattered across the galaxy, hoping to find it and rebuild our home, searching every star, every world. And just when all hope seemed lost, message of a new discovery drew us to an unknown planet called Earth. But we were already too late.
Me waiting for mor- oh, that’s cool, probably gonna watch it in November and see what happens later. I’ve called most of your subscribers out. I will get one of these things….one day
My current issue is that a lot of the stuff is currently missing. Like I don’t see any of the sets with the “bonus” stuff on Amazon plus you can’t order the weapons easily. Just a byproduct of an overseas company I guess.
Check out Deep One. I feel like it's a bit more solid than Icarus. The individual submarine modes are a little meh, but they make awesome little marine-themed mecha, and there are a bunch of very satisfying ways to combine them. They are quite good combined with Icarus' parts, too.
I do have to say that it's weird to me when someone says they can "feel" the difference in quality when they touch a plastic object. You cannot. There's no sense that a human has where you'd be able to tell how good or bad the production quality of a certain plastic will be.
The Turtles work great but they are getting hard to find. With the Megabox line cancelled (being replaced by InfinityBox) they may not be available much longer. Act now! Hurry, hurry, hurry!
Well, crocodiles are crocodilians and alligators are crocodilians and caimans are crocodilians, so calling any of them crocs is legit. Crocs are crocs, and gators are crocs, but crocs aren’t necessarily gators.
I I would Memorize The entire transformation I didn't even know how to transform my blitzwing I just went for it Without using instructions I need to be instructions for the get mode though but not for tanke mode
And I haven't needed it for a while But yeah if you gave me 1 of those things I would enjoy it so much That thing would be coming with me every everywhere I go Cause it is cute Even though I am 12 Year-old
Toy Guy, I lvoe you but NO! No Allspark Optimus Prime. We don't need ANOTHER Optimus Prime toy. Do the Fallen, Primus, Alpha Trion, Transmorph, The moon of Cybertron, ANYTHING but another f*cking Optimus Prime.... Sorry... Just started collecting these cubes. Being very picky about which ones because...another collectinog of robots... Am I right?
"Give me the cube, BOY!" - Megatron, 2007
Shoves cube into Megatron chess dice - Sam , 2007
"Me dar o cu-"

Allspark that turns into Primus
52toys' megazords are sick , very well articulated too
Ah yes. My favorite transforming toy. **C u b e** (Edit: Also SHOVELHEAD LOOKS SICK)
the 52toys all spark Optimus has me damn near giddy. I would so love one or three

Better idea: Allspark that turns into Primus
We need a whole compilation of times that his camera is out of focus, and him mentioning it and perfectly fitting into the sentence he was already in the middle of

Well, tell 52 toys I was on the fence about these, but this has convinced me to buy a couple for my kids!
Shovelhead and Mortalcoil look so cool.

THE COSMIC CUBE AN DO ANYTHING.
It almost looks like there are hands at the top of the Warthog, like it has a hidden robot mode or something. I could just be imagining it, lol.
Me waiting for mor- oh, that’s cool, probably gonna watch it in November and see what happens later. I’ve called most of your subscribers out. I will get one of these things….one day
Squeal matches with the pig. 4:33
WE NEED THESE GUYS ON SOME CASSETTECONS
That warthog is AWESOME!!!!!!

I think the 52toys Unus is an awesome figure I recommend because if they do more like Unus then we are in for a great ride
Optimus prime is still searching for the rubix cube reference
If you like impressive articulated tails, may I recommend PlanetX Vulcan?
Honestly, I’d like to politely disagree with what you said about the transformations not being memorable. I’ve found them all extremely memorable.

I absolutely love the engineering 52 toys uses. so different than hasbro

You cannot.

Before time began there was… the CUBE
Where do you buy them from? I need to collect the shrimp, spider, octopus w brain, and a few others but i cannot find them on amazon.
You should definitely get ahold of beastbox Reaper and gunpowder
The Turtles work great but they are getting hard to find. With the Megabox line cancelled (being replaced by InfinityBox) they may not be available much longer. Act now! Hurry, hurry, hurry!
I have 16 Beast Boxes figures. Well 12 plus 4 Mega Boxes. I want to buy more. Thinking of getting the 3 beetle ones and Shovelhead next.

Crocs are crocs, and gators are crocs, but crocs aren’t necessarily gators.
Manvthese should have existed in 2007 so he could give megatron this cube instead
Good video
I think its a gator cause of the snout
