This was an amazing TRUE storytelling. They didn’t need to change Dr Wang from who he really was, you called his character too stoic, just to “entertain” us. The flashbacks weren’t trying to be more than snippets, that’s how it should be. This IS a movie all can and should see. I hope this story causes countless other people to be healed and have faith!!
I see how you wanted more to bring the past to life more but the studio Definitely not lost thier touch, I believe it depends on the budget per film and looks they did great! I'm all for uplifting true stories and highlight how Asian Americans made an impact in America and modern medicine and miracles God blessed this man with this gift to give sight and that's the point a good story even on a budget
You're not wrong, and I truly love the message, but I am to the point where I expect a lot from Angel Studios, and to me, this felt like a step back. However, I honestly hope it does well in the theater and people love it. Thanks!
I Love Your Judgment. I enjoyed your speed and tone too. It is true what you said. I wish my math teacher talks that way I would understand math like a pro. Anyway brother, you are so right. I wish they really captured the depths and the mystery of the man's story than to just produce a movie for public consumption. I believe that bringing reality to life will change the world because real people need a real touch from movies that act real stories. I believe you. Im one of those that watch with my soul and my spirit, not emotions and thoughts. And I love when true movies are fully built and lacking nothing so that when Im watching, my heart truly connects to all that the character experienced in greater understanding. Things like this happen when the movie is not focused on the testimony of the main character but on his achievement, which is not necessary compared to the build up of his life. I believe that viewers are more influenced by the beginning of one's life compared to the end. It is the past that makes us who we are, and the past must be beautifully detailed and spent a little more on.
I disagree! Sight was an Amazing movie! I loved every second of it & highly encourage all to watch this Beautiful inspiring movie! It also gave me a new respect for my Drs who helped me in my journey through breast cancer! It’s a definite must watch! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Aw man, thanks! Sometimes doing negative reviews can be fun, but this one was difficult for me, because the effort was there...I just didn't connect with it. I hope everyone else loves it.
I understand what you're saying re: production values and Dr. Wang's characterization. I am predisposed to being very introspective and hard on myself as well, so there was actually quite a bit for me to latch onto with Terry's portrayal of him. In fact, I was even a bit surprised at how supportive and affectionate his parents were shown to be vs. my perception of "stoic high-expectation Asian parents." With respect to taking the "easy road" of production and showing the horrors of the time period, I didn't see either Cabrini or Sound of Freedom, so I didn't have an expectation of how Angel Studios handles period setpieces and heavy topics respectively.
See, now you just gave really great insight. You brought a very different personality into the movie, so you saw it differently. Thanks for sharing. Yes, and I certainly brought in expectations derived from those other films that affected my overall enjoyment. Thanks for sharing.
@@CookieMovies78 Yeah, a turn-the-corner moment for me was [Spoiler warning, I guess] when he's originally closed off from Misha but then the next day commits himself to talking about Lili.
Again, very interesting that their moment hit hard for you, because of my personality, that felt contradictory. Everybody’s different, which is why art is so fascinating to discuss.
@@CookieMovies78 Interesting! The idea of it being a contradiction to what was established makes sense also. Would you describe yourself as more direct? I also don't know if/how culture plays into it as well.
i didn't really get any of the complaints you have hear. it felt like you were describing a completely different movie from the one i saw. i did feel like the ending was a bit abrupt though.

It IS an amazing story. I just wish the movie told it better, and I’ve seen proof that Angel Studios can.

Excellent review. I am still interested in seeing this movie, thankfully with managed expectations. Sound of Freedom was sooooo good!
Yes, please go see it in the theater. I hope everybody loves it, but I went with high expectations and was left disappointed.
Great movie, but i love your respectful review on it, regardless if i disagree
Thank you for respectfully disagreeing. You’re right…just because it didn’t click with me doesn’t mean others can’t enjoy it.

I think you and I have similar tastes.
I disagree!

I respect that. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as you did.
Another great review, keep at it man. You’re almost at 1,000 subscribers. Also idk why but this is one of my favorite reviews anyone has made.
Aw man, thanks! Sometimes doing negative reviews can be fun, but this one was difficult for me, because the effort was there...I just didn't connect with it. I hope everyone else loves it.
I just saw this and have to agree….I wanted something more. But the story of his life is awe-inspiring and he is an incredible man.
Yep. His story is amazing, but the movie doesn't illustrate it very well.
I disagree with what you review about Terry Chen acting. I thought he did pretty good job. I think the movie is great.
I think that is fair. I’m glad you enjoyed it.
I loved it
Awesome! I’m glad. Preach it!

I thought it was an awesome movie with a great true story!
I think it's a great true story, but I thought the movie didn't quite do it justice. I wish I liked it more.

I respect that. Each person views it differently, and I just share my handsome perspective.
Dude, i need to speed up your video to 1.25X just to bring it up to normal speed. You..... taalk.... slowww. 🤪
Ha! I’m taking my broadcast speech classes too literally, huh
