Finally how long we've waited to do a part 3. And surprisingly I have less to say because you are getting better and better. I think for the Mazda RX-8 you should use the NFS HP 2010's RX-8 GIN for extreme because it sounds more aggressive than maz_rx7_c. I think for the R34 you should swap the R34 from NFS Payback for stock and the FH one for street. Same goes for the extreme and pro sound. For the Supra/IS300 I think for stock toy_supra_b don't fit well because both are 2JZ-GE not 2JZ-GTE. The NA version sounds more like BMW and maybe bmw_m3_e will fit better. If it was Twin-Turbo it will fit toy_supra_b or maybe for street upgrade and the 2015 one for pro. The Celica GT-S uses the same engine as Lotus Elise so you have to consider using lot_elise_a from NFS MW 2005 (porting also its abk sound for stock because NFS MW 2005's ABK files work here) and lot_elise_b from NFS World for street. Also for pro the NFS Heat's Lotus Exige S sound. For the Miata you should use maz_mia_b from NFS Pro Street as pro while the 2015/Heat as street. For the Mustang GT I suggest to use the for_mustgt_a from NFS MW 2005 (with its ABK sound) for pro while I think you should maybe use also the NFS 2015's Mustang GT sound for street maybe. But that's what I'm about to say so keep up! 👍 Edit: But since some of them are finalized I'm still good with these sounds. I just shared my suggestions if you decide but again that's what I'm gonna say.
@UnknownPlayer93 Well, I don't remember how to fix it but what I remember you have to fix max_vol and ginsu_vol to 49000 or something like that. If not to 44500.

@@paburrito I checked that also the Ford Mustang Foxbody's sound from NFS Payback is also similar to the NFS MW 2005's for_mustgt_a so you might check this too but it kinda sounds weird. And also if you plan to do the 240SX the only thing that comes to my mind is using nis_240sx_b from NFS Pro Street and unfortunately the engine sound there is broken unlike nis_240sx_a_eng from NFS Carbon. And the Audi A3 is 3.2 Quattro but Black Box thought it as regular 1.8/2.0 when even on the badge says 3.2. For the TT/A3 I suggest using vw_r32_a for extreme and vw_r32_a_eng for pro. Amazing. Underground 2 is very well made game for its time. There are some weird gimicks, but the sound were the weakest part of the game (50% of the cars use the f360 file or something). This improves the quality of the game a lot!
idk why, but after all the steps according to the instructions, my cars disappear and when I’m about to leave the garage the game just freezes and I can’t do anything
@@HeroManNick132 Exactly. You can change awsome engine sounds but in my opinion you need change engine rev sounds (except stock engines), also you need change the turbo sounds. @@ensarmurattas5007 I understood you well. But I feel like making ABK sounds it is just little painful and not really that worth it. I told him to port some ABK sounds from NFS MW 2005 that definitelly should work for the Pontiac GTO and the Toyota AE86. Sadly the NFS Carbon one won't work because they are "different" ABK version that is not compatible with these 2 NFS. the modification has one significant drawback - the roars of car engines during drag races are noticeably muffled, and for some the sounds are muffled so much that they become standard the modification is very good, that's why I really want you to fix this minor bug
Hey, use the Car Sound Tuner mod, and you can edit the files to make the car sounds louder (engine, blow off/flutter, turbo spool, shifting), but in the case of drag races, I'm not sure if that will be a quick fix for the bug.
@@vasyangamer2232 you don't have to replace any files! Install the mod, and you will get a text file to modify numbers. For example engine acceleration sound may have a value of 10000, change it to 20000, it should be louder (two times louder im not sure, but definitely louder)
That Forza 2jznpro upgrade sound doesnt seem to work that well...like bitrate aint up to snuff and when it gets modulated by yhe game its starts to sound corrupted quality wise
sadly that's not possible, the way engine sounds are handled between NFSU1 and U2 are vastly different and there's no way for me to try something like that in U1
i wanna request if you could bring the need for speed underground 1 engine swap sounds for the need for speed underground 1 cars in NFS Underground 2 as the next mod
I downloaded the M3 GTR add-on mod and i would like to modify the engine sound by myself using the tool that you have been using, but i have no idea how to use it. Is there some kind of video that shows how to do it step by step?
SUV need some love too, both Escalade and Navigator have messed up order of sounds Max sounding like they should sound stock and stock sounding like max upgrade should sound
Idk if its my game but the Mustang sound is now broken in drag races, and its actually really quiet in other types of races, the drag race thing applies for the Corolla too I think
Time to do another NFSU2 playthrough, now that all cars sound different to eachother, instead of using that overused ferrari sound that blackbox loved to use
@@paburrito I'm sorry, I don't understand because I don't speak English :) but I found a solution myself. I did not buy the part that changes the engine sound in the 3rd package, I lost a little power, but the sound is perfect.
i was just using the race transmission, depends on the car tho 'cause I've been messing with the sound of one or two car's transmission to make it shorter
as it is, not really, how NFSU2 handle its sounds is widely different to what Heat does, so you'll have to grab the GIN file with the engine sound from U2 and find a way to port it to Heat, someone might have done that but you'll have to look for it, since i'm not aware of what mods are done for Heat
@@dansherwind7439 By default the Evo 8 is using these sounds: Stock: *GIN_Honda_S2000_APEX* (also the stock sound of the Toyota Celica GT-S, Honda Civic Si) Street: *GIN_Acura_ITR* or *GIN_ITR_Pull_01_cc_shrt* (I'm not sure which one is using but I guess the second one because both sound files are 100% the same but they have different names for some reason) Pro: *GIN_Honda_S2000_spliced* (a.k.a. hi dear modder, i wanna say in 9:30 the gto's sound is awesome. but i think when the rev limiter kicks in, there will occur some problem in the sound. when rpm stands limit, the sound turns original nfs ug2 v8 engine sound. if you can merge rev sound with awesome rpm cutter sound, it will be betterr. Thank you for all your hard work
sadly i can't do anything here with the rev limiters, i would've loved to made my own but the encoding of the files is different that of the ones used on the revving of said engine, that can be done on most wanted but underground 2 is iffy at best, so i didn't go much into it, i tried but the game crashed in the end
I've just tried your mod and the Civic SI's Street engine sounds funny in bumper view (sounds fine in chase view). I've only tried two cars (the Civic with stock transmission), so I'm not sure if other sounds are normal
How many times he and I have to explain that in NFS UG1 the sound format is different. For now it is not possible to make these sounds into ABK. Only if NFS UG1 used GIN format like NFS UG2/MW 2005/Carbon till NFS Heat it could be possible.
For the Miata i would say to add the sound from payback for stock and extreme and for the tiburon stock to extreme should be changed (if you can) extreme engine is killing my ears. Pro engine on Ae86 should be changed (if not finalized) And for focus, 206, golf and 240sx should be changed (if you don't reach the limit) same with SUV's
Just wanted to mention that I used the civic and when you do a drag race the engine audio cuts in and out. Not sure if it’s like this for more cars or only the civic.
Well, for some reason the game seems can't proccess the GIN files and only the ABK sounds for some reason there only it cuts if you select the drag test track. I've experienced the issue only there. This game has very limited sound memory so you might see some issues like that but hopefully he fix it even though pretty much on normal races and driving these GIN files work well.
@@HeroManNick132 happened to me with one of the very first drag races, if not the first actually, i think there are too many sounds that end up overloading the game and that's why it gets cut, but like i said, it's just that race and then had no problems at all
@@paburrito Yeah exactly. The game's sound memory is very limited and if many sounds playing at the same time some sounds might not just play at all or just cut. NFS MW 2005 has even worse issue with the sound memory compared to NFS UG2. For example at least here even if the decceleration sound is different and ported from other NFS will work while in NFS MW 2005 it will be silent plus some sounds like for the NOS and skid won't play because of game's shit memory. That's why NFS UG2 is so much better for sound modding compared to NFS MW 2005 despite the NFS after Carbon are still much better than these 2 for sound modding plus they also can support larger sound files.
Do you changes the Audi TT sounds too? I'm only drive this car with a pro engine, since the extreme engine is the original Honda Civic extreme engine as well. It's remember the Clio V6 sound of the NFSMW a little bit.
The Audi TT needs only vw_r32_a_eng for pro and vw_r32_a for extreme. Also the Audi A3 is 3.2 Quattro so it has to use the same sounds as the TT. The Renault Clio there uses I6 sounds - from TVR Tuscan and BMW M3 E46 just like the TT there. Also I don't think he did change.
@@HeroManNick132 It's because the original pro engine I have hearded when I played with Audio TT was the stock sound of the 3000GT. hi there! nice mod! but there's some slight issue with it. can you test it but using AJLethal's PLUS world texture? when i was using 350Z, the game always stuck on loading screen.
You literally scrolled past the description of the video where the first line is the download link of the mod, you click on that link and then the download button is at the right of the screen on that web page under a "Download" title
For some reason i am getting a freeze at loading screen after few takes...i am using extra options, better license plates, widescreen fix, road textures with texmod, hd map, customization plus mods...i tried the vanilla also and again, i am getting freeze after a few takes in and out of menu...the game loading screen just keeps loading, those green lines with that broke burke picture but nothing happens sadly...using V1.2 US with HOODLUM, also got Peugeot 106 and Corsa. Your sounds v3.0...do you maybe had the same issues? BTW THE SOUNDS ARE REALLY COOL, KEEPS ME IN THE GAME...
hmmm, i made this mod using the US version of the game, version 2 of the mod is still very unstable since by then i didn't realized what really was going on, since i have a very capable laptop to work with so the sounds loaded all fine, but for less capables computers, the sounds glitched out and tended to mess the game into an infinite loading loop, i highly recommend you to update to version 3 of the mod which is where i tried to stabilize the sounds as much as possible so more computers can run the mod without much issue
@@paburrito I do have V3 but maybe that my laptop explains since i am on AMD A4 9125 BULLSHIT TO THE FULLEST, never been more unhappy with this CPU with r3 integrated GPU, i have SSD and DDR4 ram on it, but it's crap to the FULLEST anyways...
@@paburrito It's all good, i am running UG2 MAX on 720p, without AA. AA crushes it to 5fps, the sound works tho i play like 5 6 times and then i just restart again...I doesn't really bother me, the only thing is the texmod waiting 1-2 minutes, is it possible somehow to import those textures directly to the game?
Had forgotten about this mod and the fact that I was waiting for it, but I'm glad to see it's out plus you've fixed the crashing issue. Would you consider doing a mod like this for UG1 as well? The engine sounds in that game are absolutely awful, especially in comparison to this game even with vanilla sounds. EDIT: nvm just saw one of your other comments saying that its not doable at the moment which is a huge shame, but this mod is still more than enough anyway
sadly is not possible, way UG1 process sound is far different than what UG2 does and there aren't mods that allow to create custom engine sounds for that game... as far as i'm aware, never went too deep into it 'cause i wasn't too interested on UG1 engine sounds to begin with
@@paburrito Yeah it's unfortunate that it's the case there, that game would benefit from it far more. Nonetheless though you did an excellent job with this mod, I can't wait to try out this update.
@@gothamcitygoon2491 First you need to understand what sound format Black Box used for the past years: BNK (I think that was called) - NFS HP 2 (PS2) only ABK - NFS UG1 only GIN - NFS UG2, MW 2005, Carbon TMX - NFS PS, UC, World and TR Fun fact: the ABK sounds were still used in all Black Box NFS after NFS UG1 but for a lot of smaller things like gear shifts, turbos, redline etc... But the main engine sounds were either in GIN and later on in TMX which unlike the GIN sound have 2 sounds for acceleration instead of 1. And these GINs were made from the TMX sounds from NFS PS/UC/World by combining the 2 acceleration sounds into 1. So that's how they were converted from TMX to GIN otherwise if they weren't converted it wouldn't be possible to use them and same goes for the ABK sounds. Also there is no software/mod like Car Tuner, NFS VLTED, Noesis, Frosty Editor which is available for every NFS after NFS UG1 (Except NFS Shift 1-2) to be able to help you modding these sound. Simply copy and pasting the ABK sounds won't work. And not to mention how you need to create a new node because this game used literally 5 different sounds for the all cars and changing 1 sound changes many cars. For example if you change the Civic sound, then will go the same for the Miata, Peogeot 206, Dodge Neon and more cars that share the same sound. So I will say it is pretty shitty right now to mod NFS UG1 sounds.
@Pabloracer great mod but i found some problem, when drag race and URL, vtec sound from honda civic si sound is kinda jaggy but when i turn the engine sound down it back to normal but still bit jaggy, is this a bug or its only me? Thanks
@@paburrito I think you should use some ABK sounds from NFS MW 2005. Like the M5's or the Porsche 928's ABK sounds for the Pontiac GTO or the Z06 ones. At least unlike the NFS Carbon's ABK sounds the NFS MW 2005 one should work in NFS UG2 because the format isn't any different like NFS Carbon's ABK files.
@@paburrito I know some changes are finalized but now I checked at the NFS Heat's S5 sound and it will will fit better than vw_jetta_m3_a for the Tiburon for stock. And also the Guilia one from NFS Heat also kinda sounds similar to VR6 Jetta's sounds so it will be nice for street. So it is never late to change something right? So I suggest to keep the vw_jetta_m3 and m4 for stock and street on the Audi A3 3.2 Quattro and the Audi TT 3.2 Quattro (because both are VR6) while for the Tiburon you may consider using these sounds that I suggested just not to sound "too indentical" with these 2 cars. For pro I suggest to use for both vw_r32_a_eng and for extreme vw_r32_a (the exhaust sound) from NFS Carbon. For the 3000GT I suggest to use for stock: GIN_Eclipse_2000.gin (unused sound from NFS MW 2005 with its ABK sound), street: the stock default sound, pro: mit_eclip_b from NFS Pro Street extreme: mit_eclip_a (or the pro upgraded sound moved to extreme). Overall that's my other suggestions for now. And sorry if I'm bit annoying.
how did you managed to get working abk files for UG2? I tried to import some sounds for mw and carbon and I always get an infinite loading screen when using custom abk files

(50% of the cars use the f360 file or something). This improves the quality of the game a lot!
idk why, but after all the steps according to the instructions, my cars disappear and when I’m about to leave the garage the game just freezes and I can’t do anything
The fact that EA couldn't top this game in 20 years is just really f*cking sad.

@@HeroManNick132 Exactly. You can change awsome engine sounds but in my opinion you need change engine rev sounds (except stock engines), also you need change the turbo sounds. These are strong and maybe hard changes but quite affect gameplay. And you can this changes version and version.
Sorry my bad english. I hope you understand what I mean.
Not sure if he is able to change the Turbo sounds but I think it is more important to change the wrong engine sounds instead of the small details like the ABK sounds for the redline or the turbo sounds. Sure it will be nice but again I can feel him that he is bit exausted and burned out from real life and modding this. the modification has one significant drawback - the roars of car engines during drag races are noticeably muffled, and for some the sounds are muffled so much that they become standard
the modification is very good, that's why I really want you to fix this minor bug
Hey, use the Car Sound Tuner mod, and you can edit the files to make the car sounds louder (engine, blow off/flutter, turbo spool, shifting), but in the case of drag races, I'm not sure if that will be a quick fix for the bug.

@@HeroManNick132 Thanks, but I can't quite understand which is the name of the Evo 8's engine file.
@@dansherwind7439 By default the Evo 8 is using these sounds:

Street: *GIN_Acura_ITR* or *GIN_ITR_Pull_01_cc_shrt* (I'm not sure which one is using but I guess the second one because both sound files are 100% the same but they have different names for some reason)

Extreme: *GIN_HondaS2000_Church* (This sound is used in many cars like Audi TT 3.2, Hyundai Tiburon GT, Honda Civic Si and the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 8)
All of these sounds that this Mitsubishi uses are Acura/Honda sounds and same for NFS MW 2005, until for NFS Carbon finally Black Box has recorded a proper 4G63T even though the upgraded sounds there are again from Honda but hey it is an improvement. The pro sound on the Supra/Lexus is a bit laggy. Otherwise it's the best engine mod i have ever seen on this game.
hi dear modder, i wanna say in 9:30 the gto's sound is awesome. but i think when the rev limiter kicks in, there will occur some problem in the sound. when rpm stands limit, the sound turns original nfs ug2 v8 engine sound. if you can merge rev sound with awesome rpm cutter sound, it will be betterr.

I hope you listen to my suggestions bro☺️
Good work, keep it up. ;)
@@gothamcitygoon2491 First you need to understand what sound format Black Box used for the past years:
BNK (I think that was called) - NFS HP 2 (PS2) only
ABK - NFS UG1 only
GIN - NFS UG2, MW 2005, Carbon
TMX - NFS PS, UC, World and TR
Fun fact: the ABK sounds were still used in all Black Box NFS after NFS UG1 but for a lot of smaller things like gear shifts, turbos, redline etc...
Good stuff bro

@@paburrito I think you should use some ABK sounds from NFS MW 2005. Like the M5's or the Porsche 928's ABK sounds for the Pontiac GTO or the Z06 ones. At least unlike the NFS Carbon's ABK sounds the NFS MW 2005 one should work in NFS UG2 because the format isn't any different like NFS Carbon's ABK files.
