Hi, My son is 7.8 years old, mild autistic, he was good in his academics till lkg, ukg he struggled a bit. He can identify alphabet and numbers till 100. But he cant do addition of two digit numbers, in literacy he is not able to read words, I am worried he has dyslexia though he can identify and write alphabets. So I feel like stuck somewhere unable to proceed further. So now I have send him to a special school which he loves as he can learn in his own pace. Lkg and ukg he attended regular schooling. In special school ,one disadvantage is he is not getting opportunity to mingle with the regular kids. Now am not getting enuf time to spend on his studies also as i have a 3 month old daughter. Kitchen me khana ready hota hai jo baccha khata hai. Khana to daily woha se hi cooking hoke uski plate me aa rha hai to aap usko cooking k time me kitchen me frequently leke aao aur dikhao batao. Ma'am how to handle and sit still ur son without any therapy.. I'm really struggling for this.. 2.10 we gave therapies to my child after 10 months we stop.. recently 2 months stop.. again he is very hyperactive, we do all ot activities but still he is very hyperactive.. im really scared about this mamm
You really need to work hard on hyperactivity everything is connected to it the more physical workout more structured sleep routine will get this sorted also get vit d tested low vit d results in poor sleep too
1.Pls try to give him outdoor exposure specially with nature. Nature has calming & healing property which you can feel after some days automatically. So pls try to take him to park & make him to spend in park as long as possible. Give him swing & other activities/ exercises there. 2. Try to make him hear Om chanting, nature's sound ( sea sound, raining sound etc) , instrumental music etc which are very soothing. 3. Brushing & Joint Compression(you need to consult a professional/OT therapist if you are unaware about this. Without professional guidance pls don't try this but this is very very important for hyper kids. It help them to settle down very quickly.) If possible give the compression using Gym ball/ wrapping with a thick cloth, blanket ,yoga mat . 4.Follow a routine so that the child can adjust with the schedule & co-operate . 5. The child should be properly hydrated , have a regular bowl clear/no constipation issue & good quality of sleep. 6.Avoid sweet items. You may give natural sweet fruits but not sweet dishes as of now. 7. If possible try to allow him to play with water ( keeping the temperature of water in comfortable state). It soothes . If possible try to make him learn swimming. It has therapeutical benefits. 8.Burn out his excess energy & involve him in domestic chores more & more. 9.Pls try to connect with him often. He can understand the language of love & affection. So pls follow his type of play activity & don't force him to follow our steps without his consent. It would not help in the long run & gradually the kids develop a negative impression on their parents & therapy activities. The child when see that the parents also like his play ,allow his wishes then he also take interest in us. 10. Swing, gym ball activities,push/pull heavy objects ,wrapping with yoga mat /blanket for sometime, different animal walks help the child to settle down gradually. 11. After some time (as your son is too young) pls try to involve him in yoga specially deep breathing exercises which has immense benefits eg. to calm down . 12. Pls try to work on his sensory integration part as well. The kids mostly suffer from sensory issues which in turn make them hyper ,inattentive & developing a lot of inappropriate behaviours later on which then become difficult to change. 13. Pls work on his joint attention, object identification,receptive language & increasing his cognition level as much as possible simultaneously . As the child grows & develop his understanding on his surroundings,his routine & able to communicate his hyperactivity also goes down. But it takes time & demands huge hardwork ,patience & participation from parents & other family members. It is time consuming but this all are beneficial to calm down . They work really & you can do it. Only one year OT will not be able to change the hyperactivity issues quickly. You need to continue this next few years as well. Best of Luck for you & your baby.
@@simransdh Thanks. Yes,OT is must for this kids. Also the kids pay attention more when they get attention from surrounding & limited screen time. But if you have discontinued the speech therapy from outside then pls work hard at home on her speech part. Pls follow the oromotor exercises, different blowing activities & chewing the food always . 1.Both visual & listening part has to stimulate more & more which greatly help anyone to learn & develop a language. 2.Visual - Object identification, vocabulary, opposite concepts (adjective like big/small,hot/cold, heavy/light etc,shapes & size,colors etc),action words, preposition, command following etc are the area where we need to give good effort. 3.Listening skill - Everyone in the house need to talk to the kid more & more.Active talk,passive talk & parallel talk all the way. 4.The kid has to involve in household chores & ADL part which also help language development simultaneously. It greatly works in understanding building & command following part. First start with simple single command (keep the glass on the table) then little bit complex command( keep the empty glass on the table) then two command joined (keep the empty glass on the table & bring the bowl to me). 5.If the child is poor in expressive language then first focus on receptive language (understanding the concept or object identification). 6.Create multiple situations where the kid has to speak to fulfill her need. That time if she is unable to express herself then help her with right word/sentence at that particular moment. Practice it frequently. 7.Memorize her with her name & other required other details,daily used greetings , magic words & its usage regularly. 8. Encourage her more to express herself through speech & when she does it successfully reward her/celebrate it so she can understand that she has done something good.

Hi Ina, don't you think we should avoid homeschooling at a younger age when there's more emphasis on learning social skills in schools than studies? As they grow and studies and classroom settings get more complex , it becomes more difficult to get our kids get into mainstream schools .The younger they get an exposure to social settings like school,the better it is..I've known parents who've moved places to get their kids in inclusive schools and it has worked wonders.
Hi Nidhi some kids have extreme sensory issues which cant cope up even in the special schools specially in India there are rare schools who can give a comfortable environment to spd kids who hve autism too so for those children its a good option because sending ur child to school just for the sake and pushing them in a place where they will hve constant meltdowns every now an then it will feel as a torture which is why if parents feel their kids cant cope up its really okay for them to get homeschooled main agenda is learning not imposing ❤️ just because something works for one doesnt ensure it will work for the other because autism has a spectrum and spectrum is way too vast … imagine you having constant meltdown because you are not liking a smell in the school and you want to just scream and dont know how to react and hve a meltdown and your helpers cant console you what would you do so thats how kids with spd on spectrum feel.. give it a thought AND YES SOME PEOPLE CANT AFFORD MOVING TO A PLACE OR SENDING THEIR KIDS TO SPECIAL SCHOOL so everyone’s life condition is very different

Recent me hi humne mere bete ko sikhaya hai...wo bhi 4.5 yrs ka hai... hard clay se lamba saamp jesa par thoda mota banake finger se todna sikhao...aur ho sake utne chhote beans bachhe ko thb aur finger se pakda k alag karvao....dhire dhire griping aayegi 15 dayse difference dikhega...clay se karega to wo crayon pakne k liye ready bhi hoga....may be inko sensory ki bajah se crayon haath me Lena pasand nahi karte... But humare case me ye work kiya ... Hope fully as a parent hum sab try karte...jisme results dikhe wo continue kar k usame se Bachchhe ka Best bahar nikal na hai... Hi ina, can you please help me with this query, my son will be very good at giving eye contact, socialization but he has some stereotype behaviour like if he thinks he has to go out in bike or especially car he started doing stimming,hitting,biting.. it's looks like adapt behaviour if I ignore that he will divert his mind in hours.. otherwise If I takes out accidentally the same behaviour he does for a week or more . His learning his eye contact his understanding his smile everything gets spoiled.. he goes to his own repititive world and more visual stimming raised... This is happening every month once how to handle this behaviour..this is badly impacting his learning..
Bacche se jada jada connect & play kijiye . Uski toys se hi play initiate kijiye. Usko aap eye contact, attention dijiye. Learning k liye filhal kuch din jada force/stress mat dijiye. Uski har acche kaam/behaviour ko khub appreciate kijiye aur inappropriate behaviour ko jitna ho sake ignore kijiye/reaction mat dijiye but ha uski Marzi bhi chalane mat dijiye. Aapki aur sab family members ki positive attention se uski behaviour me difference aayega. Ye bacche jo behaviour show karte hai wo actually autism k liye nhi hota hai. Aap jitna uske sath connect ho payenge wo utna behaviour chhod dega, trust me. Usko jada kuch jaldi jaldi sikhane k chakkar me humlog bacche ko stress de jate hai aur uska bachpan chhin jata hai. Uski sensory issues/hyperactivity issues agar hai to uspe kaam karte rhe. Usko household chores me involve kare fir jada free time nhi milega stimming/inappropriate behaviour show karne k liye Jo kafi hadd Tak out of boredom/sensory integration issue/communication difficulty se aati hai. His play skills were very poor.. if I take any thing like puzzle,blocks or some toys to play he doesn't show interest at all... @@zolfuspari5838 This kids initially don't show interest in anything as their cognition level is not good & so their playskill.You have to observe him closely & ruled out the different reasons behind his behaviours like Boredom/attention seeking/sensory issues/not feeling well/don't like something or someone so accordingly you need to work upon. If boredom then engage him with you frequently in indoor or outdoor play/household works. If attention seeking then don't give too much attention at that point of time but connect him frequently with motherly approach or friendly way not in teacher mode.You need to seek help of OT for sensory needs etc. If he doesn't like a particular thing or activity or someone or some place then introduce this with new new approach gradually. 1.Pls make a routine & try to follow that by yourself so your child also. If it's hectic then make 3/4 small routine like Morning routine , afternoon, evening & night. If possible make visual routine with the help of flashcards. This kids usually prefer routine as don't like anything suddenly/unexpectedly. Pls include his therapy activities in the routine as well but for small timespan & in different different parts of the day. So the child will not take this activity time as very boring/stressful . 2.Give them choice in everything like cloth,food even the plate where he will take the food, activities, road to roam around while he is outdoor as well. Try to start the activities which he likes & introduce new activities or his not so enjoyable activity later . When he has chance to take decision it will develop the skill much better & feel himself as important & also generate respect for others as well. 3.Body should be properly hydrated, no constipation,sound sleep. This all are helpful for good health & good behaviour also. 4.Engage him in sound & light type toys initially for his attention & play with him as he likes then you guide him for proper way of playing. 5.Involve him in household chores slowly so he will not get time for stimming/stubborn behaviour & becomes independent also. Initially you have to help him in every work physically . 6.Pls dont force him to much in anything/any activity. Give lots of affection,cuddle/pamper him in all possible ways so he feel relaxed , loved & happy. A happy kid will listen & follow you & learn new new things quickly. We must not ruin his childhood. This things I realise very much with my son. It works wonder. 7.Pls appreciate him in every silly accomplishment. We are always craving for appreciation,recognisation & reward. So use this positive reinforcement in worthy way. But don't bribe him for toys/foods in long run rather your reinforcement come from your words,gesture & body language. 8.Give him a lot of time in park amidst nature . Nature has wonderful quality to calm down the kids & relax anyone. Try to engage him in play with other kids & enjoy the swing,slide,ball catch & throw,kicking the ball & other children amusement arrangements. 9.Play nature sound (rain sound,sea wave sound), instrumental slow music at home which also has good impact on behaviours. 10. Pls continue his therapy & try to focus his OT,speech, brain boosting i.e. to develop the cognition. As the child grows his understanding he will not show inappropriate behaviours. 11.Pls take him in outside with full tummy & show the picture / videos of that destination prior for some days . Explain that place & what you will do there so the child will have a mental preparation. All the Best. You can handle your child in best way which none can do in the world.

He has a problem that whenever the gate door opens he goes out without anyone's knowledge... I don't understand how I am going to manage this thing.. he is obsessed with vehicles and outside...
@@zolfuspari5838 sorry to hear your experience. I have multiple experiences where my son started unexpected running though I was holding his hand. My son also has a tendency to enter a closed door room etc. Initially he had liking to vehicles but now not that much. We have to be extra cautious when we are out with him & have to hold his wrist tightly & if we already know which thing/place is his obsession then always we have to take super extra care to cross that portion. Pls lock your maindoor from inside when he is in the house also. As he grows & becomes mature this incidents will not happen that much. If he likes to go out then try to spend a lot of time outside & outdoor activities. Don't take too much stress as this stress will be transferred to the child & he will again show behaviour & the situation will become difficult to handle. Also try to speak with him as much as possible,make different flashcards on common household things, his routine works, action words so that he can be able to communicate with you/other family members. All will be fine in the near future. God Bless him .

Hi, My son is 7.8 years old, mild autistic, he was good in his academics till lkg, ukg he struggled a bit. He can identify alphabet and numbers till 100. But he cant do addition of two digit numbers, in literacy he is not able to read words, I am worried he has dyslexia though he can identify and write alphabets. So I feel like stuck somewhere unable to proceed further. So now I have send him to a special school which he loves as he can learn in his own pace. Lkg and ukg he attended regular schooling. In special school ,one disadvantage is he is not getting opportunity to mingle with the regular kids. Now am not getting enuf time to spend on his studies also as i have a 3 month old daughter. Ma'am how to handle and sit still ur son without any therapy.. I'm really struggling for this.. 2.10 we gave therapies to my child after 10 months we stop.. recently 2 months stop.. again he is very hyperactive, we do all ot activities but still he is very hyperactive.. im really scared about this mamm
You really need to work hard on hyperactivity everything is connected to it the more physical workout more structured sleep routine will get this sorted also get vit d tested low vit d results in poor sleep too
1.Pls try to give him outdoor exposure specially with nature. Nature has calming & healing property which you can feel after some days automatically. So pls try to take him to park & make him to spend in park as long as possible. Give him swing & other activities/ exercises there.
2. Try to make him hear Om chanting, nature's sound ( sea sound, raining sound etc) , instrumental music etc which are very soothing.
3. Brushing & Joint Compression(you need to consult a professional/OT therapist if you are unaware about this. Without professional guidance pls don't try this but this is very very important for hyper kids. It help them to settle down very quickly.) If possible give the compression using Gym ball/ wrapping with a thick cloth, blanket ,yoga mat .
4.Follow a routine so that the child can adjust with the schedule & co-operate .
5. The child should be properly hydrated , have a regular bowl clear/no constipation issue & good quality of sleep.
6.Avoid sweet items. You may give natural sweet fruits but not sweet dishes as of now.
7. If possible try to allow him to play with water ( keeping the temperature of water in comfortable state). It soothes . If possible try to make him learn swimming. It has therapeutical benefits.
8.Burn out his excess energy & involve him in domestic chores more & more.
9.Pls try to connect with him often. He can understand the language of love & affection. So pls follow his type of play activity & don't force him to follow our steps without his consent. It would not help in the long run & gradually the kids develop a negative impression on their parents & therapy activities. The child when see that the parents also like his play ,allow his wishes then he also take interest in us.
10. Swing, gym ball activities,push/pull heavy objects ,wrapping with yoga mat /blanket for sometime, different animal walks help the child to settle down gradually.
11. After some time (as your son is too young) pls try to involve him in yoga specially deep breathing exercises which has immense benefits eg. to calm down .
12. Pls try to work on his sensory integration part as well. The kids mostly suffer from sensory issues which in turn make them hyper ,inattentive & developing a lot of inappropriate behaviours later on which then become difficult to change.
13. Pls work on his joint attention, object identification,receptive language & increasing his cognition level as much as possible simultaneously . As the child grows & develop his understanding on his surroundings,his routine & able to communicate his hyperactivity also goes down. But it takes time & demands huge hardwork ,patience & participation from parents & other family members. It is time consuming but this all are beneficial to calm down . They work really & you can do it.

But if you have discontinued the speech therapy from outside then pls work hard at home on her speech part. Pls follow the oromotor exercises, different blowing activities & chewing the food always .
1.Both visual & listening part has to stimulate more & more which greatly help anyone to learn & develop a language.
2.Visual - Object identification, vocabulary, opposite concepts (adjective like big/small,hot/cold, heavy/light etc,shapes & size,colors etc),action words, preposition, command following etc are the area where we need to give good effort.
3.Listening skill - Everyone in the house need to talk to the kid more & more.Active talk,passive talk & parallel talk all the way.
4.The kid has to involve in household chores & ADL part which also help language development simultaneously. It greatly works in understanding building & command following part. First start with simple single command (keep the glass on the table) then little bit complex command( keep the empty glass on the table) then two command joined (keep the empty glass on the table & bring the bowl to me).
5.If the child is poor in expressive language then first focus on receptive language (understanding the concept or object identification).
6.Create multiple situations where the kid has to speak to fulfill her need. That time if she is unable to express herself then help her with right word/sentence at that particular moment. Practice it frequently.
7.Memorize her with her name & other required other details,daily used greetings , magic words & its usage regularly.
8. Encourage her more to express herself through speech & when she does it successfully reward her/celebrate it so she can understand that she has done something good.

Hi Ina, don't you think we should avoid homeschooling at a younger age when there's more emphasis on learning social skills in schools than studies? As they grow and studies and classroom settings get more complex , it becomes more difficult to get our kids get into mainstream schools .The younger they get an exposure to social settings like school,the better it is..I've known parents who've moved places to get their kids in inclusive schools and it has worked wonders.
Hi Nidhi some kids have extreme sensory issues which cant cope up even in the special schools specially in India there are rare schools who can give a comfortable environment to spd kids who hve autism too so for those children its a good option because sending ur child to school just for the sake and pushing them in a place where they will hve constant meltdowns every now an then it will feel as a torture which is why if parents feel their kids cant cope up its really okay for them to get homeschooled main agenda is learning not imposing ❤️ just because something works for one doesnt ensure it will work for the other because autism has a spectrum and spectrum is way too vast … imagine you having constant meltdown because you are not liking a smell in the school and you want to just scream and dont know how to react and hve a meltdown and your helpers cant console you what would you do so thats how kids with spd on spectrum feel.. give it a thought AND YES SOME PEOPLE CANT AFFORD MOVING TO A PLACE OR SENDING THEIR KIDS TO SPECIAL SCHOOL so everyone’s life condition is very different

Try pencil gripper if possible it does help a lot or use thick crayons and first help in learning coloring
Recent me hi humne mere bete ko sikhaya hai...wo bhi 4.5 yrs ka hai... hard clay se lamba saamp jesa par thoda mota banake finger se todna sikhao...aur ho sake utne chhote beans bachhe ko thb aur finger se pakda k alag karvao....dhire dhire griping aayegi 15 dayse difference dikhega...clay se karega to wo crayon pakne k liye ready bhi hoga....may be inko sensory ki bajah se crayon haath me Lena pasand nahi karte...
But humare case me ye work kiya ...
Hope fully as a parent hum sab try karte...jisme results dikhe wo continue kar k usame se Bachchhe ka Best bahar nikal na hai...

Hi ina, can you please help me with this query, my son will be very good at giving eye contact, socialization but he has some stereotype behaviour like if he thinks he has to go out in bike or especially car he started doing stimming,hitting,biting.. it's looks like adapt behaviour if I ignore that he will divert his mind in hours.. otherwise If I takes out accidentally the same behaviour he does for a week or more . His learning his eye contact his understanding his smile everything gets spoiled.. he goes to his own repititive world and more visual stimming raised... This is happening every month once how to handle this behaviour..this is badly impacting his learning..
Bacche se jada jada connect & play kijiye . Uski toys se hi play initiate kijiye. Usko aap eye contact, attention dijiye. Learning k liye filhal kuch din jada force/stress mat dijiye. Uski har acche kaam/behaviour ko khub appreciate kijiye aur inappropriate behaviour ko jitna ho sake ignore kijiye/reaction mat dijiye but ha uski Marzi bhi chalane mat dijiye. Aapki aur sab family members ki positive attention se uski behaviour me difference aayega. Ye bacche jo behaviour show karte hai wo actually autism k liye nhi hota hai. Aap jitna uske sath connect ho payenge wo utna behaviour chhod dega, trust me. Usko jada kuch jaldi jaldi sikhane k chakkar me humlog bacche ko stress de jate hai aur uska bachpan chhin jata hai. Uski sensory issues/hyperactivity issues agar hai to uspe kaam karte rhe. Usko household chores me involve kare fir jada free time nhi milega stimming/inappropriate behaviour show karne k liye Jo kafi hadd Tak out of boredom/sensory integration issue/communication difficulty se aati hai. Agar baccha non verbal hai to uski speech me focus kijiye. Ye thik hota hai.

His play skills were very poor.. if I take any thing like puzzle,blocks or some toys to play he doesn't show interest at all... I don't understand how to play with him.. how to engage him throughout the day..can you guide me on this..
@@zolfuspari5838 This kids initially don't show interest in anything as their cognition level is not good & so their playskill.You have to observe him closely & ruled out the different reasons behind his behaviours like Boredom/attention seeking/sensory issues/not feeling well/don't like something or someone so accordingly you need to work upon. If boredom then engage him with you frequently in indoor or outdoor play/household works. If attention seeking then don't give too much attention at that point of time but connect him frequently with motherly approach or friendly way not in teacher mode.You need to seek help of OT for sensory needs etc. If he doesn't like a particular thing or activity or someone or some place then introduce this with new new approach gradually.
1.Pls make a routine & try to follow that by yourself so your child also. If it's hectic then make 3/4 small routine like Morning routine , afternoon, evening & night. If possible make visual routine with the help of flashcards. This kids usually prefer routine as don't like anything suddenly/unexpectedly. Pls include his therapy activities in the routine as well but for small timespan & in different different parts of the day. So the child will not take this activity time as very boring/stressful .
2.Give them choice in everything like cloth,food even the plate where he will take the food, activities, road to roam around while he is outdoor as well. Try to start the activities which he likes & introduce new activities or his not so enjoyable activity later . When he has chance to take decision it will develop the skill much better & feel himself as important & also generate respect for others as well.
3.Body should be properly hydrated, no constipation,sound sleep. This all are helpful for good health & good behaviour also.
4.Engage him in sound & light type toys initially for his attention & play with him as he likes then you guide him for proper way of playing.
5.Involve him in household chores slowly so he will not get time for stimming/stubborn behaviour & becomes independent also. Initially you have to help him in every work physically .
6.Pls dont force him to much in anything/any activity. Give lots of affection,cuddle/pamper him in all possible ways so he feel relaxed , loved & happy. A happy kid will listen & follow you & learn new new things quickly. We must not ruin his childhood. This things I realise very much with my son. It works wonder.
7.Pls appreciate him in every silly accomplishment. We are always craving for appreciation,recognisation & reward. So use this positive reinforcement in worthy way. But don't bribe him for toys/foods in long run rather your reinforcement come from your words,gesture & body language.
8.Give him a lot of time in park amidst nature . Nature has wonderful quality to calm down the kids & relax anyone. Try to engage him in play with other kids & enjoy the swing,slide,ball catch & throw,kicking the ball & other children amusement arrangements.
9.Play nature sound (rain sound,sea wave sound), instrumental slow music at home which also has good impact on behaviours.
10. Pls continue his therapy & try to focus his OT,speech, brain boosting i.e. to develop the cognition. As the child grows his understanding he will not show inappropriate behaviours.
11.Pls take him in outside with full tummy & show the picture / videos of that destination prior for some days . Explain that place & what you will do there so the child will have a mental preparation.

He has a problem that whenever the gate door opens he goes out without anyone's knowledge... I don't understand how I am going to manage this thing.. he is obsessed with vehicles and outside...
@@zolfuspari5838 sorry to hear your experience. I have multiple experiences where my son started unexpected running though I was holding his hand. My son also has a tendency to enter a closed door room etc. Initially he had liking to vehicles but now not that much. We have to be extra cautious when we are out with him & have to hold his wrist tightly & if we already know which thing/place is his obsession then always we have to take super extra care to cross that portion. Pls lock your maindoor from inside when he is in the house also. As he grows & becomes mature this incidents will not happen that much. If he likes to go out then try to spend a lot of time outside & outdoor activities. Don't take too much stress as this stress will be transferred to the child & he will again show behaviour & the situation will become difficult to handle. Also try to speak with him as much as possible,make different flashcards on common household things, his routine works, action words so that he can be able to communicate with you/other family members. All will be fine in the near future. God Bless him .
