Portland (Oregon) or nearby cities periodically have Renaissance festivals. Never been, but I've seen photos. They have feasts & jousting on horse back. Bards walking around singing. Kings & queens. I never seem to have the money to go though.

I had the same thing happen to me with my shoe once. I didn't have another pair and had to walk around with the sole flopping up and down. I am glad that you had so much fun! I can feel the joy coming out of your voice! And these are very cute!
Sounds like you still had fun. I bought a pair of running shoes and they weren't exactly really good running shoes. I am planning to run away but I keep coming back. Now the envelopes, I remember them from the first time, I love easy peasy, as I’ve said often enough,😁 I must get my food dye colouring out again, or watercolour wash sheets they would suit these, of course they are very easy to do, slap a bit of colour on the sheet and drown it in water, my kind of messy. Sorry about your shoes hurting your feet and then the other sho breaking. A couple of years ago my daughter took me to Kentucky when she was going to pick up her son and his friend from camp we went a week early so we could have a mommy daughter trip. We were hiking up the side of a huge hill that it was just rocks you walked on that were like carved in different ways was really difficult to walk on and my hiking boots ripped on the sole from the back to the front in the same way they were just dangling. It was an interesting trip the rest of the time especially since it was drizzling rain and all the rocks were wet. My poor daughter I know I slowed her down quite a bit. But I've had shoes either the heels or the bottoms or I've had it happen before to me I know how it feels. I'll bet you half the people that were looking at you and then looking back at you we're thinking oh that's happened to me once and it was embarrassing and uncomfortable. My granddad wore beige army uniform during World war II when he was overseas. It sounds like you had a great time. I'm glad you were able to get that ticket so late and that your husband took your daughter.
