Great video! I’m getting ready to change out my pcv valve and hose and your advice and instructions were way better than the Haynes manual. Thanks man.

HI: Thanks this was a big help. I was having trouble finding the PVC, makes me feel stupid. 23mm fits but I had to get a deep socket, my standard 23mm didn't have enough clearance. I was able to pull the PVC ok with only taking out the battery and air breather assembly.

From a DIY perspective, the Duratec 3.0L is a mess of an engine. From Ford's business perspective, its a work of genius.
They REALLY dont want you working on this thing and have designed it to be a headache and take it to their service shop. The Vulcan was such a dream to work on and they knew it.

Just fixed this problem on my 2004 escape. I ended up replacing sections of the hose with reinforce heater hose. Listen for the sucking noise it's a dead give away that you need to replace it.

Ron b that’s exactly what’s going on with mine. Check engine light came on. Autozone personnel ran the codes and it showed my O2 sensors were bad, so I replaced them. The light was still on, so I cleaned my mass airflow sensor, light was still on. Filled my oil and coolant back up just because, and that’s when I stated hearing all the sucking noise that you’re talking about.

Is there an aftermarket pcv hose replacement? Or is there a way to modify one to make it work. What about I modify a stove gas line? ^_^

Do you know where the coolant temperature sensor is on this exact vehicle? Is it under the throttle body about 8 inches to the right? If you're looking at it from the driver's side.

Jamie, can you tell me what year escape that is? Ny wife has 2010 escape limited 3.0 and its going thru oil pretty fast . Did an oil change almost a month ago and the oil light came on. Less than 1000 miles I think. Original pcv @ 115000 miles

dave3825us have you checked your oil pan gasket? Im assuming you checked the levels by the dipstick and oiled the rubber seal on the oil filter when you replaced it.

If you want to see a prime example of Ford evap WTF, base model 4.6 L Modular V8 95 T-Bird. Outside of the regular polyester/rubber hose nonsense, you also get these brittle hard plastic "straws". It's no wonder you rarely ever see 95 T-Birds and Lincoln MK VIII on the road anymore.
