    I just purchased a 24R. the manual setup is a little hard to get around- running windows 10 laptop, either usb or AVB what is best.
    The unit won't be here for another week.

      usb would be the safest. Avb is basically Dante or kinda like usb with a ethernet cable. I use my avb connections to connect my 24r to my studiolive 32sc. I combine them to make 32 channels in and out and have a 150 foot cat 5 cable that i use for turning my 24r into a stagebox at the studio or for events.

    Have You ever experience any click, popping and audio dropping quickly?

      Hi, not on my end. What are your buffer settings and sample rate? Are you on a Mac or PC? And what are you doing when running into the problem?

      @@IntheDAW I'm on a new mac book pro, I set my sample size high, to 4096 or 2058, and I still get this problem within studio one. Today I tried this with my old windows 7 pc and it worked fine with no problems. Weird!

    How do you patch a CONTROL ROOM mix to the studio monitors from the AUX OUTPUT-s (on the back) . By CONTROL ROOM mix, I mean, like you hear the MAIN MIX until you select a SOLO on one channel, then you hear only the selected channel. I can't find that option, only the SOLO mix (or MAIN, or AUX mixes), can be patched to AUX OUTPUTs. Thnx.

    do you use the AVB port for the studio stuff, I like the idea of not having to use a 24 channel analog snake. I'll be using a windows 10 laptop for controller/mixing desk. Thanks

      you can use avb to send audio yes. I use my 24r as a stagebox and go into the studiolive 32sc as my console so I go out of the 24r avb into the 32sc and finally into my computer with usb. if your computer supports avb you can just go directly into it without usb

    Hi, I just bought a Presonus Studio Live 24r. To control the master volume, the only way is on Studio Live with the mouse? Can I control the master volume with the iPhone?

    • @IntheDAW
      @IntheDAW  3 года назад +1

      Yes sir. You just need to connect it to a wifi router or a network switcher in the control ethernet Jack. Than you install the control software and boom.

    How do you get midi out of your DAW since this doesn't have midi? Would something like a
    SubZero 4x4 MIDI Interface work instead?

    • @IntheDAW
      @IntheDAW  Год назад

      Hi yes it would. I actually used a midi to usb converter before. Now I use midi synths that have midi I/O with usb.

    Inputs 23/24 on the back are not S/PDIF .. they are RCA phono inputs for consumer level gear like turntables. Wish this DID have a S/PDIF input on it .. then I could run my Roland Jupiter 80 into it.

    • @IntheDAW

      you are right that was a mistake i made when I had just opened it. this review was made after about a week of using it. but my mentality still stand I still own and it even upgraded to a 32sc and use this as my stagebox to add inputs.

      In the DAW Sweet! I just ordered the Studiolive 32r to run all my synths into, so I appreciate your video .. been watching everything I can find on it .. which isn’t much. Thanks man 👍🎹

    I don't understand locks on the inputs. If someone trips of a lead I want that lead to come out. If it's locked in it will either pull your mixing desk with the lead or break something cause it's locked in...

    • @IntheDAW
      @IntheDAW  5 лет назад

      Lots of consoles have locking xlr inputs midas ssl has some yamahas more high end consoles do it. Some Avid systems too. Its more of a feture to protect something from being disconnected thats not supposed to. I always leave slack so if someone pulls on a cable they wont trip but some people will litirally grab and pull on a cable

    • @daldofa

    are you Able to track all 32 channels in your daw with usb? or does it have to be ethernet?

    • @IntheDAW
      @IntheDAW  3 года назад +1

      Usb or ethernet both work. If you have one of there consoles with faders you can also record 34 channels via SD card. That's what I do now

    Hello, this unit can be used as an audio interface? I need it to record big bands on my studio

    • @IntheDAW
      @IntheDAW  4 года назад +2

      yes standalone its a 24 channel interface with real time eq compression and gate. that can be recorded pre or post fx. I personally connect it to my other console and turn into a 32 channel console via the AVB networks
