The Nerd Crew is back! This week, the gang discusses the title reveal of Star Wars Episode 8, as well as unbox the cool pop culture swag in this month's Nerd Box and Geek Crate.
I think it's important to note the irony that in mocking shitty loot crates, Mike created a crate that brought more joy to Rich Evans and Jay than any loot crate ever could have for any other person.
Well me, personally, loved the title of this video. Depicting both the name of the show, as well as the the episode number is not only perfectly simply, but complex in its subtlety
For me, personally, this is one of the most cherish-able conversations I ever read online, while being both inspiring and extremely helpful in my everyday household needs.
The ending is such a perfect climax; Jay's genuine concern for the camera as Rich almost knocks it over, a brief pause, BB8's chirping, followed by Jay's most heartfelt laugh of all time... couldn't have been better.
I just picture Mike filling up his shopping cart with all this crap from the Walmart clearance section and people giving him weird looks in the checkout line
My favorite part is when he says "When I first saw it I thought it was a fan film & I said 'that looks like crap' then I realized it was real & I said 'that looks awesome." 😂 😂 😂
Okay, why did the song King of kings by Bobby King start playing as the advert after the video had finished? Is RUclips trying to say that my soup needs saving or something?
You say that like more proof was needed. It's an open secret that Rich is a detestable human being who does dirty protests outside abortion clinics, and openly thinks that the Nazis did nothing wrong. Allegedly. Fun side fact, my phone has the names Hillary, Donald and Bernie on predictive text after the phrase"openly supports".
There's a fine line between satire and sarcasm. You guys just straight up shat all over that line, put a Star Wars sticker on it, and sold it to Disney. I fucking love you guys.
The BB-8 watch going off erratically when Rich falls into the cameras. Perfect. Rich is basically the BB-8 of the show, blissfully unaware, round, comic relief. And you can tell it’s not an edit from Mike and Jay’s increased laughing at the moment when it goes off. P.S. AT-ST! AT-ST!
She's now a He named Jay, and we have to respect his decision. But now we can get a real girl who can make us pretend that we're going to get laid some time in the near future.
There are some people who may say that this episode has too many boxes of nerd merchandise, but guess what: LIFE has too many boxes of nerd merchandise. That may sound profound...well, it is.
Today's topic: WHO WOULD WIN IN A FIGHT BETWEEN KING KONG & JAMES BONDOMGWTFROTFLMOVIESRJUSTFORDUMBFUNANDSHOULDNTBEREGARDEDOTHERWISE!!!!!!!!...now over to the girrrl corner to introduce the next topic...
i love going back to these episodes they're so funny and their mix of improv and script is amazing , i love when they break character too. i hope they continue this series!!
Something about the end catches me every time. That Jay is so scared about damaging the cameras that for a moment he is all business; then the pause; then the laughter when it turns out alright. But the fact Mike does not seemingly care at all is the perfect juxtaposition.
Rewatching this 5 years later. Mike says " I would have expected such behaviour from Paramount". The ad kicks in immediately afterwards. First shot? The Paramount logo. God I wish I had been able to screen record that.
I'd rather you don't support either of the inferior crates and support the Dork Cube, they're a great up and comer that have a way better sense of surprise with each box! #LootGet
I hope the entire movie is animated simply because CGI Tarkin and Leia in Rogue One looked so good. I mean, it was pretty distracting and unconvincing, but they looked SO GOOD!
Rich almost killed that totem of cameras. Anyone know how much that would of cost them if Rich smashed them? Jay's reaction is authentic "RICH RICH RICH!"
I can only assume that the damaged-frame portrait of a baby at 19:07 is another Evans’ family heirloom absconded by Mike Stoklasa. Probably an image of our living angel himself.
I love the mental image of Mike and Jay going through Dollar Tree trying to find the crappiest stuff they could still reasonably pass off as fake Star Wars merchandise to Rich. Plus like twenty packs of The Force Awakens stickers to slap all over it all.
Rich brought tears to my eyes I was laughing so hard during the Ghostbusters toy. This is the first time I haven't felt dead inside for 15 years thank you RLM.
"YOU JUST KEEP HITTING THE FUCKIN' HOME RUNS DISNEY!!!!"
George Aroyewun my new favorite rlm phrase
Mike first used it in the Fury Road review.
S'DISNEY*
“Nothing says I love you like a black guy holding a gun” 🤣😂
😂😂😂

Balin40k Well, me, personally, I love this comment. It's very... well constructed and easy to read. In fact, I think it's one of my favorites.
VERY COOL.
For me, personally, this is one of the most cherish-able conversations I ever read online, while being both inspiring and extremely helpful in my everyday household needs.
I just think it's like poetry ...cuz it rhymes y'know?

Another wonderful comment, so short and concise. Pedestrian, yet provocative. Conventional, yet nouveau. Brilliant.
The ending is such a perfect climax; Jay's genuine concern for the camera as Rich almost knocks it over, a brief pause, BB8's chirping, followed by Jay's most heartfelt laugh of all time... couldn't have been better.
BB8 going off was perfect.
You can tell Jay's concern is for the camera, not Rich. Priceless.
Yes, a lot happening in every frame. -_-
Fernando Pulido "IT'S SO DENSE EVERY SINGLE-" Fuck it.
Me personally, I think Jay's wide-eyed look of terror is the best two seconds of this video.
_"It's like being dead for 90 minutes, but you're eating popcorn."_
~ Rich Evans, 2017
I love how all joking went out the window for Jay when the cameras almost bought it.
Old comment but I own the same set up. Each camera's close to $1,300, and they are not durable to take dropping from a Tripod. ._________o;
Emilia Rojas Jesus man, didn’t know the cameras where that valuable. No wonder Jays face dropped so much!
@@MovieJunkieOfficial Yet Mike sits there laughing his ass off with a look of acceptance and relief on his face.
@@deaj8450 Mike's soul left his body years ago
@@verraque I know it's unlikely this comment gets any attention on a 4+ year old video so I just wanted you to know, ya got me. Good one
Well me, personally, I loved this video.
playerselite42 you haven't even finished it yet
Solid 8 out of 10. Far better than the last Nerd Crew, which I gave a 9 out of 10.
You unknowingly referenced a gag in the video. Bravo.
playerselite42 I haven't watched it yet, but I will love this video
Me personally, i personally agree, personally
I'm glad Mike and Jay allowed the hot one to actually be useful this episode and open up the swag.
FractalBoy yeah I'm really glad rich got a bigger role than just the sex appeal
FractalBoy dude i died reading these lol
Rich is so dense he just fills up every frame.
You guys aren't a full scale Nerd Crew until you have a 3 hour round table discussion about a 30 second trailer while literally shitting your pants.
They once spent 5 hours building a PC! Talking about a trailer for 3 Hrs is nothing!
I shat my pants while Carrie Fisher died.
So did she.
Han Solo Dies ScreenJunkies and Collider, mainly.
What makes you think Rich didn't fill his depends? I mean he eats juicy Shaq meat daily.
I can only imagine Mike giggling as he fills that bucket with hotdogs
I've never seen Rich express as much joy as he did when he got his -Ghostbusters- Rey figurine.
trickso it's the only time I've ever seen his beady dead eyes light up with authentic happiness.
For five minutes we got to witness the hole in his soul filled by the joy of star wars swag
How did Mike keep a straight face during the -Ghostbusters- Star Wars action figure part? That man is like a stone wall.
SaurusHam It's why when Mike does actually break character and laugh in something it's so great.
Multiple, glorious takes.
What's so funny about a normal Star Wars action figure? It's because Rey's a woman, huh?
Ol' Stonewall Stoklasa.
SaurusHam I'm pretty sure he is polish
I just picture Mike filling up his shopping cart with all this crap from the Walmart clearance section and people giving him weird looks in the checkout line
Rich's reaction to the Ghostbusters toy very poorly repackaged as a Star Wars toy just kills me.
Yeah I like to thjnk its a genuine reaction of the first time he saw it
😂😂😂👏👏👏
This satire is missing one crucial element. Attractive women that do not want to be there.
We have Rich.
You'd Plinkett could get them some attractive women that don't want to be there.
That are constantly hit on by creepy mid-40s nerds that think they're cool because they have a RUclips show.
What are you talking about, Rich Evans is right there.
I checked a video of hers. She is hillarious.
Rich: "It's like being dead for ninety minutes. But you're eating popcorn." Disney should put that on the Last Jedi poster!
Disney should put that on the poster of every live action remake.
Disney should put that on basically every action movie they release.
Except it's longer than 90 minutes and after the film is over you feel dead for much longer.
*2.5 hours
Why stop at The Last Jedi? Just put that on the general Sequel Trilogy
I've watched this more times than I care to admit.
My favorite part is when he says "When I first saw it I thought it was a fan film & I said 'that looks like crap' then I realized it was real & I said 'that looks awesome." 😂 😂 😂
Me personally, I loved this video and I'm on my maybe 15th or 16th watch right now.
It's very cool.

Snactimus Maximus Very cool.
This satire perfectly speaks to my burning hatred for the consumer fandom
"It's like being dead for 90 minutes, but you're eating popcorn." Hehehe

Soul, not soup. Jesus Christ.

"YOU JUST KEEP HITTING THE FUCKING HOME RUNS DISNEY!"
Does Mike ever speak without a thick layer of irony?
There's always at least one. Sometimes more. Sometimes there are so many layers of irony no one knows how he really feels, not even himself.
Aren't they doing the same?
Irony is like onions.
It's so dense.
I think they've outdone themselves with this series.
4:37 You just keep hitting the fucking homeruns, Disney
Me personally, I love this comment
I don't know if I can take 20 minutes of straight satire
Yeah no shit. RLM is starting to suck their own dicks and it's awful.
I thought the same thing, but it's worth it. Some of the funniest stuff on RUclips right now.
satire?
This new show is making fun of similar youtubers who review pop culture stuff and call it nerdy.
spacejunk76 Your comment is the most disappointing thing since my son.
Took me 19 minutes to realize this wasn't a Collider video.
William Shatner thought this was real.
I am sincerely amazed at Mike's ability to keep a straight face. Easy when your soul is dead.
He did manage to laugh eventually...when Rich pretended he hurt himself.
I think what cracked them was Rich very nearly destroying their $5000 camera.
And you can tell who paid for the camera.
I suspect that there's an element of editing to this.
I know, I know he laughs sometimes, but at many others he keeps the poker face while Jay was as I would have been, cracking up.
Nothing makes happier than RLM. Other than my monthly Nerd Box subscription that is.
I just cannot live without my Star™ Wars™ Yarn™
Geek Crate is way better, you get much more for your money and it comes in an actual crate!
Added to favourites in the first 59 seconds. The resemblance to Collider Jedi Council and other 'geeky' content is both hilarious and depressing
@Hamdon Nut Personally, I love this idea. I'm doing that right now
