To me, this reminds me that we have so many identities surrounding our individual self, perhaps an infinite amount of identities. Whether you're black, white, a mother, a father, a Muslim, a Christian, an atheist, transgender, gay or heterosexual, whether your beliefs lean left or right... all of it doesn't matter. What matters is that we're all humans, and we all have value. Yes, even those you consider your "enemies"... they are in fact, no different than you. We're not enemies, we're just having a hard time understanding each other. Yes, that means even extremists. We don't know the circumstances that brought them to think the way they think. I'm not apologizing for suicide bombers or school shooters, their actions are unacceptable, but we can't allow ourselves to dehumanize them either. Haters have to be saved too, somehow. My wish is that one day we can all learn to live together despite our differences, because after all, we're not so different.
