I actually like Jolly Gingerbread Village. The gingerbread opening is so good and I don’t mind the woodsy-ness about it. It’s different and I can understand why most people don’t like it. I think pairing it with Christmas Cookies or Wrapped in Vanilla will bring in that sweetness and balance it out. And I think the packaging is adorable. 🥰🥰
I absolutely love Jolly Gingerbread scent, especially the lotion and body wash. I rarely get backups but I’m considering it (and Amber Vanilla Bourbon- could bathe in that one - almost smells like apple is in it).
I just got this collection today. Jolly Gingerbread Village was really familiar. I knew that scent before and then I just realize that it smells like the traditional sticky rice cake with ginger from my country.
Agree with everyone that we are overdue for a bakery collection. Would love Sugared Snickerdoodle or Santa’s Blueberry Shortbread to come back. I haven’t made a purchase from BBW in a couple of months!
I don’t understand why they didn’t make a more gourmand bakery collection this year….I’m pretty sure they did it last year or 2021 maybe 2020….they had one really good scent out (Sugared Snickerdoodle.) I don’t know why they don’t take some of their vanilla scents like Vanilla Bean Noel and Warm Vanilla Sugar, and give them a more bakery vibe. Me personally, I wanna smell like a vanilla, chocolate, or caramel, holiday pastry from the bakery….I don’t wanna smell slightly fruity and airy (fruits in the winter, and the cold air)
It really just depends on the area you live, I think. I see a lot of people saying that they don't really like coconut or fruity scents in the winter and I can understand that. But where I live, it's still hot here so these work for my area. Something really heavy and gourmand, I couldn't wear here but I'm looking forward to trying BCM FFM because it's brighter and can be worn when I want the holiday spirit on an 80F day. lol However, they need to take into consideration popular opinion and give customers a mix. I'm hopeful that next year will be THE year for gourmands though. It's what people have been asking for all year so I hope they listen.
I don't have any of these returning scents so I'm stocking up on them this year, but I will say the label this year looks so nice compared to last year. Last year was very graphic design is my passion. lol And though they're repetitive, they still look nice. I need B&BW to think outside the box though. They could have changed it up a bit. It's honestly like they're doing the bare minimum with a lot of these releases and it's disappointing. Thank you for the review!
I also wish JGV had been a gingerbread cookie with icing scent! It ends up smelling like Fireside Flurries on me, and I’m not a fan because neither of them mix well with my body chemistry and are too sharp to my nose. 🥺
I'm glad to hear it resemble fireside flurries as I so wanted that to come back so I could get some shower gel. I did get a mini and shower gel in jolly gingerbread village via online
