I think it was one of only four references to Larson after his show. The day after Peter mentioned it. THen in Summer 1984, a contestant made a reference to the "ice cream truck driver", Chris Kass was told on his fifth show that he was the second highest winner in PYL history(Randy on Xmas Day 1984 became the second highest winner and ANnemarie in Summer 1986 wasn't told this either) and this one.
The trip to Paris that Christy hit that wasn't enough to overtake Elliott at the end was the same value ($2,518) that caused Andrew to lose the game by $3 ($12,771-$12,768) in Season 2 (1984-85) to Nina-Jo. Speaking of Elliott, I couldn't help but think that he bears a striking resemblance to a younger James Lafferty from _One Tree Hill_ (2003-2012), but with braces. I also thought from a distance that he also resembled a younger GS host Jeff Sutphen (_BrainSurge_, _Figure It Out_ (2012), _101 Ways to Leave a Gameshow_ (US version, 2011)) as well. Elliott is probably one of the _coolest_ _Press Your Luck_ contestants I've ever seen. Good game, indeed. Anyways, keep up the good work, Barry.
Andrew ended up hitting a big screen tv that netted him $2600, in previous AND later episodes the value of it rose back to $3800, so he really should have won.
Nice playing Elliot. Your victory is well earned. Jake, you were a good sport. Christy, if it hadn't been for our old friend, the Whammy, you would have had it.

I never knew that Disneyland is a prize trip on Press Your Luck on CBS and my favorite Disneyland rides are Indiana Jones Adventure and Star Tours.

I hope everyone can avoid the whammy
That poor lady losing $20,000 in the intro.
Also further more, the Fortune Teller Whammy did make a lot of sense.
Poor Allison 😢
Elliott is gorgeous ;-)
Fun story, that’s my dad

Episode 502...
Whammies 7:13, 11:58, 14:20, 15:18
I didn’t even know 15:18 existed, I just thought it was a animation in the video game (2010 edition)
Anyone notice the 1000 and the 1500 in round one switched colors also the 1250 is also a different color

So, this is post-Larson?
I want to get a picture of you’re losing your Money. Say cheese!
Bummed. I was rooting for Jake.
Congrats to Elliot. He played a good game.
"One guy won over $110,000 in one day!"
Well, he gamed the system, and that's hardly sporting, Peter. Heheheh.
Dude was smarter than most ! QUITE SPORTING
Technically he didn't game the system. He just learned the system. There weren't any rules saying you couldn't do what he did.
They have a new whammy version
Is $60 the closest between all three players?
+NinjaDragon22 There was a game where the margin was $3.
