@@pimpcess7918 Yes. It's definitely not an exaggeration, when fans say it is. You have to keep up with different timelines, alternate worlds with different timelines, loops, characters at different ages, character motivations, family trees and story lines. It only get more complicated, with each season. You have to pay attention when you watch the show. It's like a map, you really have to follow it through.
I think fraser is a being of pure instinct. It’s not like he dosent want to conform, he can’t. We have all thought about slapping our parents at least once, but it is our social expectations as children and fear of matriarchy that stops us. Fraser dosent have this fear, he dosent care for the expectations and simply has no time for the consequences so he just slaps her.
@@makaylalovelace3769 hmmm, well I guess if you’ve never had a serious confrontation with your parents you might have never though that. But it’s like when you want to run away or something like that.
If you know anything about Luka Guadagnino you'll know that his style is very rare, different and fresh. Also the fact that it was his first tv work everyone really hardly accepted it,well some people saw true beauty of this work and i am one of them. I really enjoyed it.Everything seems to be alive in this show, entire environment speaks with audience. Characters are seen from very very deep ankle and things go very slow...that is the real style of Luka but at the end of it you got entire picture and u are thinking that it was so beautiful...so yes i think it is worth watching well for those who do not like it and for me i am enjoying it very much
@@deema1737 i didnt know the magic of cmbyn could be replicated but turns out its just luca guadanino's genius. and he featured dev hynes! and there are Black people! with nuanced storylines! i'm in heaven.
I'm already addicted to this series. It's so immersive and captivating. On the 1st episode, I loved the small yet important details like Fraser destroying the welcome cake, and Fraser reading "The wild Boys" by William S. Burroughs. It's such a brilliant show!
Everyone is acting so shocked by the "slapping your mother" scene, but I thought it was obvious from the opening scene that this kid has mental problems.
Having obvious mental health problems doesn't really make it obvious that he would slap his mom though, it was for sure out of the blue and unexpected.
it's kinda wrong separate the individual problems from the context in wich they exist, i mean can we really say that only Fraser has some tipe of pathology but not the family as a whole, as a sistem? i don't think so
i like how Luca's digging deeper into ww politics, tensions and stuff while creating this atmospheric and romantic space for the characters to grow, he already gave a glimpse of that with Suspiria and it felt amazing. looking forward to watch this fully
its extremely realistic and comforting in a way, because what we always see isnt what we should see, and luca goes against the normal, i feel completely changed watching both of his works (cmbyn and wrwwr) makes me feel so weirdly appreciative of myself, like there are some things ppl should just not know and not believe, and some things i should be the only one who should know and believe.
At first Fraser annoyed me and I couldn't figure him out. By the end of the series, I understood that he has been raised in this world, probably moving bases every couple years with a hyper ambitious mother working her way up the ranks. I could see that his relationship with his actual mother, Sarah, was probably more strained because she was the cause of the constant moving and probably wasn't around much due to working. His other mom was probably more like a mother to him, hence him gravitating to her more. And yet, she was told throughout that she doesn't understand what it is to have a child. Really interesting and complex dynamics. He's rebelling against a world he has no control over and the person he feels he can blame for it. I don't know. This show definitely makes you think 🤔
Luca, form over function, style over substance etc. This was supposed to be a movie and was sloppily slapped together for a limited series. This was full of empty shock bordering on exploitative.
When he slapped his mom and all she did was hug him I was like 😳
Yeah same
He clearly has some mental health issues
kritik kulkarni but the slapping scene was pretty unexpected..
@@janelleg7844 or maybe he has ptsd idk

When Sarah cut her finger and Fraser immediately put it in his mouth I knew their dynamic was weird
mmm ya and he was on it for like 5 min like uhhhh

They make a focus on just one character after each episode.
That "SLAPPING YOUR MOTHER" scene lost me. Sorry HBO , sorry Guadanigno but what I saw was hurtful.
Thats the point, they made it clear hes not fully ok .

HBO with its sealing and globalist series.
HBO is obsessed with gayzist, feminist and racist themes.
