Is that James Cameron on the radio? In the first 10 seconds you realize how perfectly timed that was for Tom Arnold to say his dialogue and immediately que the jets fly by. Excellent!
nocalsteve negative. That is not a green shot. Look at it again. Whenever he looks at Tom Arnold after he says “negative” that’s chronographed. That also might’ve been an actual projected screen. But definitely not the harrier scene
@@benjiespinosa4703 You’ve been fooled. Seriously, that’s an impossible shot. There is no way two Harriers flew that fast in formation that close to a helicopter carrying two stars. The actual fly by shot showed the Harriers flying at least 500ft below the helicopters which is where they probably got the first shot in this clip of the Harriers in formation from one of the helicopters. Look at all of the other shots from inside the helicopter which are obviously green screen. It makes no sense that Cameron would waste the money trying to get that shot when he had far more important Harrier shots to get. Harriers don’t come cheap. If you seriously think about it for a moment you’ll realize it’s just good special effects, it didn’t actually happen. Every other interior shot in the helicopter, the trucks, and the limo were all obviously green screened. It defies logic that the one Harrier shot is real.
nocalsteve at .09 seconds is where you can see its real. The interior on the ceiling is not chronographed. The lighting is just too accurate to argue. Just because you think it’s not logically possible or waste of money doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. At 11 seconds of the clip we see a wide shot of the exact shot in question. You can clearly see two helicopters in shot flown in front of the harriers. Also Look at T2 the truck/ helicopter chase sequence. The pilot was a Vietnam vet pilot that flown choppers in the war. And he was going under bridges and barely flying over bridges at close quarters. James Cameron was a pushing the limits back then. I’m telling you this shot in the first 15 seconds of this clip is very real and very precised. Hats off to the pilots and crew. It’s really a beautiful shot.

Wow... After the pelican landed, the time it took for the truck to fall off the bridge was more than enough time the men needed to escape through the back, including the driver. But especially the men in the back who could had made it out in a single jump. It's so easy to jump 4 ft without first running, walking or even stepping. Or in this case, a 2-ft-jump. Or a hop rather... It's the great American humor in the movie how pathetic it was that the two Middle-Easterns in the back made no attempt to hop out for their lives. 🇺🇸 💪👍👊🇺🇸

The spanish armada will hold on theirs for as long as posible while they short out if they can buy the F35B or not.. but at least they have a carrier with an operational air wing..wich the british have not for many years now
sparrowJLT Well, as modern Warfare has proved for a few years now is that a long range ship launched missiles can do that same job, and a bit more of a payload.
smoketinytom Aircraft carriers rule over suface ships ..thats why most surface units have evolved towards anti-air or anti-submarine warfare rather than anti-ship.. the US Navy even stoped mounting Harpoon missiles in the Flight 2 burkes onwards... and there is not yet an anti-ship Tomahawk variant.. they are working on one but its not operational
Best action movie ever. It had it all. Great stars, locations, scenes, humour
Uh, no, hardly the best ever. But great comedy.
The catfight with Tia and Jamie Lee Curtis in the limo
So I am not the only one that thought that was hot
When I first saw this movie 20 years ago, I literally thought that they actually blew up the bridge. That's how believable the practical effects were, I knew the Harriers were real but still though.
1994 and this holds up so well in 4K. You can always tell when it's real and not CGI.
Wtf u on about this movie is not available in 4k it doesn't even have official blu-ray 😆
AK-47 famous Kalashnikov vs Sea Harriers? hehehe
not Sea Harriers... they are AV-8B Harrier II before they got the Plus upgrade (longer nose with F-18 radar)
sparrowJLT now both of them are going to be replaced by that shit they call the F-35 lightning
the spanish navy will grab on theirs as long as they can .. probably to 2030.. probably they will be the last ones operational
@@sparrowlt Only the AV-8B+ got the radar upgrade, the rest are AW/Nighy attack, even now.
@@N75911_ but i think all remaining Harriers today have been upgraded to + standard?
This is one of the best action sequences ever filmed. Not only for the thrills, but for the technique skills.
one of his best movies hands down
JAY OH I agree! It was way underrated I feel.
Well, it's a fun film, but not even close to Terminator, T2, or Aliens in most people's estimation. Definitely didn't have the impact of Titanic or Avatar either. And personally I prefer The Abyss which is way more original.
Better than Piranha 2 though :)
greyztone *James was involved with Pirhanna 2 and Rambo 2!!!*
*LOL at the random explosion at the end*
MrGriff305 Michael Bay creamed his little pants
Still waiting for the Blu Ray.
james cameron doesn't disappoint.
1:12 And this. This is why it's very important to read the safety manual first.
2:42 always loved that change of mood LMAO
Looking back, this really was a fantastic action movie. There's a lot of creativity in each scene that adds entertainment value.
2:55 directed by Michael Bay
Truck dude: **Tries to shoot Harrier with AK-47**
Harrier: *”Your free trial of existence has ended…”*
Still my favorite part of the whole movie
The pelican is a true American. 😁
The guys in the Chevy step van are the middle eastern equivalent of the three stooges. Could have made a whole nother movie just about them.
inco, petent terrorists; i could zqtch that
I loved how this movie could be as funny as it was exciting. =)
"Geeoooowwd Chyoooowwteeeng Muuuureeeenz."
THIS MOVIE IS SO AWESOME I HAVE NO WAYS TO DESCRIBE IT...DECADES AHEAD
Pilot: these missiles won’t set off those nukes will they?! = Jim Cameron’s voice
The miniature / practical effects in this scene are a work of art!
I've been on the tour of Pigeon Key where that sequence was shot. The tour guides explained how, when the new bridge was built a couple of arches of the old one were removed to let big boats through. They were replaced with wood for the movie and it was the wood that was blown up.
This scene is why this movie was the most expensive movie ever when it was released.
Is that James Cameron on the radio? In the first 10 seconds you realize how perfectly timed that was for Tom Arnold to say his dialogue and immediately que the jets fly by. Excellent!
You realize that’s a green screen shot, right? There are no Harriers behind him.
nocalsteve negative.
One of the best Action Movie of all time. The creators didn't compromise on anything, the cast and crew, the shots, the story, the infamous one-liners and the best Action sequences.... These are so real that even it's 2021 the movie didn't looks like it's made in 1993. I can't believe to know it is older than I am when I got to knew about it.
One of the first movies out of the late eighties/early nineties to show the good guys other than the hero as competent and ass kicking
This is why America is a superpower
0:10 the same 206 Long Ranger helicopter was used in the movies The Specialist and the Charlie Sheen movie The Chase
Just like Full Metal Jacket
Let's "Get Some!"
🇺🇸 💪👍👊🇺🇸
Funny how in real life, it would be Israelis driving those rental trucks.
GTA 6 Online be like :
😅 When the bird flips one back at you... #HadToBeSaid
Not as good as Jamie Lee's striptease, but still a really exciting scene.
I just loved the fact that her falling over was actually non-scripted and her quick recovery with Arnold's reaction in the blurred background was just too perfectly done to scrap.
