Nice, I also used a lot of rules with Tag & Rename, program looks very similar but unfortunately also windows only. Don't you have mac advice? Seems I didn't find a MP3tag program that is as good as on the windows side :-(
On the topic of making files easier to search, let's say we have the band AC/DC. Sometimes its AC/DC, AC DC, ACDC, etc. To make this eaiser to search, I wirte all three of these slightly different names in the comments of the track, so when I search any of the above, they all come up.
I do that too!! :) Also, when a name of, say, an artist is only a couple of letters long, such as "Bo", I also add to the comments "bobo" or "bobobo" for easy search.
I think by watching this video and the other one you should have a decent understanding of what I do a d how I do thing (and why). The full training would be a 4 hour video but I tried my best to recap this in these 2 reasonable videos. If you are looking for more info, let me know what subject you want more I go about and perhaps I'll make a video about that in the future
@@DJResourceTV Sounds great Jeroen. The ID3 mass tagging is a genius idea to quickly add new tracks to the Rekordbox collection, especially when used with intelligent playlists. Thank you.
Go to: Preferences > dj system . Play Mode and set it on continuous. Also turn off: Auto Cue and when playing a playlist it should -lay from start to end
@@DJResourceTVYes, after messing around with various alternatives that is where I landed. I’m keeping my main folder and processing folders in DB and then dragging tracks over to RB. I’ve turned off auto upload in RB to prevent multiple folders being created for one track. I’ve tested it out on my iPhone and computer and all seems well. I can still alter and even delete tracks on my phone in RB while my DB main folder stays tidy. Was just concerned based on the comment that MMG said at the end of the live stream that DB might be changing something. Didn’t want to do all this work for DB to not allow it anymore.
Hi Jeoren. When modifying a track's MyTags on my laptop's collection, I want it to also reflect on my USB. I tried using Sync Manager to update my USB's collection to that of my laptop, but using syncronize or "update my collection" actually syncs the USB. I tried exporting all my collection/playlists back again to my USB and that did it. It updated my newly added MyTags to my collection my USB. Is that the most efficient way to do it? Thanks.
@bilal, the easiest way to update the info on the USB device is to export tracks to it again. Rekordbox should then update all information. Sometimes it's a bit stubburn, so in that case formatting the device and re-exporting the tracks works best.
i am having a serious issue with analyzing tracks. It drogs the song that is playing in the other deck while analyzing. Please can i get the right settings for that not to happens because it's annoying. I will be very thankful to you. My controller is the Pioneer DDJ 1000. Even if i disable analizing tracks it still happens.
All tracks would need to be analysed on forehand before use to avoid this process taking place when you load a track. This should happen automatically when you import files. Check to have the auto analyser enabled (Settings>Analyse> halfway down a checkbox)
Hi Jeroen, I've cleaned up my collection a bit in Rekordbox by deleting files (e.g. files that were in Dropbox or iTunes). However, every time I restart Rekordbox a few files keep getting imported even though I didn't select any folder to import from (and there's also no link in my master collection folder to Dropbox or iTunes). Is there any way to stop these files from being added to Rekordbox? I'm still on Rekordbox 5, because I want my collection to be on point before I move everything to Rekordbox 6 :-)
Hi koen, rekordbox should not import stuff automatically. It will only continue analyzing tracks that are in the cue. If you check what files it get stuck on, perhaps that gives you an idea what is happening. Check the location those tracks are pointing to is usually a good start
@@DJResourceTV Hi Jeroen, I did this and I removed the files from that location so they would be removed by Rekordbox through using the 'Missing files' option. Today, I've installed Rekordbox 6 and what's weird: I chose to start with a clean, empty library (like the tip you've given last Sunday) but for some crazy reason, without I've selected anything else or before I could restore my library or import files, Rekordbox decided to import one very specific folder anyway 🤷♂️ don't know why, was relatively easy to solve, but I was wondering if I missed something 🙂 thanks anyway for your reply and thanks a lot for all your help through livestreams, really helpful!
@@DJResourceTV that's what I thought. Anyway, I 'solved' the problem by removing those files from their location on my hard drive (they were to be replaced anyway) and then I could remove them from my collection by using the 'Missing files' function. Hi Jeroen, im trying out rekordbox after too much frustration over serato's library management. I currently have my music organized as root>genre>decade>albums/loosefiles similar to you. however when i try to import my root folder as a playlist or import it to the collection tab it all appears under one location, without subfolders and ignoring folder structure. am i doing something wrong? the sole reason i wanted to switch to rekordbox was to keep my library organized as i would for a cdj, but at the moment it seems i can't even import my folders without re-building my library in rb one subfolder at a time, similar to serato. Am i doing something wrong or is this only an itunes feature? thanks
@crispyLightVybes The way I keep them apart is that I filled in the name of the folders in to the tags of the file. So if a track is in my collection on this location : /Music/Genra/Album/file.mp3 I fill in the name Genra in the Genre ID3 tag, and I put Album in the album ID3 tag. This way I can keep the files sorted in my Rekordbox.
much gratitude

Stin eldo no its a pitty no such tool for OSX exists as far as I know. I went all the way to install VMWARE to run Tagscanner.

Christopher Elson that's also an idea, I just leave the special chars out, also easy to remember when searching for stuff

i would like to know the preferences set up for continuos playback in rekordbox.
Go to: Preferences > dj system . Play Mode and set it on continuous.

What is your recommended workflow if you have rekordbox professional with unlimited Dropbox?
Exactly the same as I show in the video, but you put the main folder that holds your music in the Dropbox folder.
