I disagree with Allen. He saw the bad situations and elected to throw into them anyway, that isn't a "new in system" issue. He's simply slow in processing what he sees.
Listened to Greg Cosell interview on one bills drive. He's still not sold on Basham. The rookie Boogie played against is very low on Cosell's opinion. Boogie still needs more, but Cosell pointed out lack of bend on Boogie even in this game. Backup QB, I think the coaching staff has to change how they grade players. For backups you need to base your opinion on the floor not the ceiling. Barkley's floor is way higher than baby Allen. Backup QBs don't play enough to reach their ceiling and you don't want them to. Barkley should be number 2.
So glad that we can watch Preseason games with our own eyes. No more players "looking good", during no pads or shells practices lol. AJ was getting buzz from guy's, while he was practicing in shorts. C'MON MAN!!, he needs a damn countermove, same with Oliver.

If you need a backup for a couple of to a few games, why not give the guy that knows the system inside/out and looked like he sleepwalked to a 158.3 passer rating the nod at QB2? Yeah, he can't run and doesn't have a great arm, but the decision-making and IQ maybe allows you to tread water better than putting it on a guy that supposedly has more talent but is still struggling through the kinks in the system and will be learning through his mistakes for who knows how long. It's not like he's gonna get a ton of reps past preseason unless he gets thrown into the fire should JA get hurt (knock on wood, Formica, cardboard, wicker, and maybe even this tightly woven straw beside me). If Josh Allen is out for any more than that, you're in deep doodoo in the AFC anyway. The backup QB conversation is always an annoying one and something you just never want to think about, so overthinking it is extra frustrating
I thought we should have drafted a rookie QB for the last 2 years so if we need some one to take over we'll have someone ready to go that is similar to Josh Allen and runs the offense in a similar style

Espenesa showed a ton of improvement last year when his snap count went up when Miller went out and came away with 6.5 sacks. The Bills will keep 5 d-ends (Rousseau, Floyd, Espenesa, Basham, Lawson) until Von gets back.

We need edge rushers with some bend, which is why they brought in flloyd. AJ Epenesa and Ed Oliver both play too high at times, man if they sink their hips and use their hands more and settle their feet, they would have Way More Sacks, rather than just creating pressure and over running the QB all the time. ED OLIVER was lost on that screen play. He plays aggressively but without thought at times.
Agreed. What did he do other than cleaning up Settles play. Concerns with both but Basham has 2 years on his deal which would be more valuable in a trade.
Not a permanent move inside. We've seen the Bills with some 3 DE, 1 DT looks this summer. Basham has the build to be one of those DEs on the inside when they are using such a formation.

They rotate the D-line more than anyone, I don’t think AJ would be missed as much as you think. (I don’t think this is going to happen) but if they get offered a fourth round pick for Epenesa, I’d say go for it.

He's a decent player and a great option off the bench, and even if, for some strange reason, the Bills wanted to move a DE so they could insert Kingsley Jonathan, Basham and Lawson are clearly behind AJ. I'd expect one of those guys to get cut/traded once Von returns. Bottom line, he's not on the roster bubble and it's bananas to say he is, especially from guys who should know better. PS they don't actually rotate the D Line more than anyone. More than average, I guess.
