Haha love the few seconds after 2:22 after being asked what he's up to now. Mrs Merton clearly has no idea about the sitcom "Step By Step", and neither does the majority of the British public. Step By Step was a funny sitcom, but I think only the first series ever aired on UK TV back in '94. It was broadcast at 10am on ITV for probably no longer than a few months in the spring/summer. Being out of prime time, not many people got to see it. I only remember it as it was on during the school summer holidays. Shame ITV ditched it, it was pretty much treat as a 'filler' for a very short period of time :-(
the show was anything but. It was critically acclaimed and at the time was one of the most popular on British TV. "Mrs Merton" was iconic. Context is EVERYTHING.
Dreadful, patronising interview. She had someone as lovely and talented as Patrick Duffy and ridiculed the show that made him famous, calling his the stupid brother, and that the Queen would have thought he was acting and being Bobby when he made the strange sound and did not know what to say. Ugly, childish interview.
Bless you. You are looking at face value completely unaware of the context. The interviewer was a comic actress who was only in her mid 30's here - playing a retirement-age provincial housewife. This was her schtick, and Patrick Duffy would have been totally aware
He is of Irish origin and that you can see and hear: What a great guy! And truly a very good actor 🏆
Such a gorgeous man. and I love his cool collective demeanor, yet he’s still warm and fuzzy. Love him!!

The Mrs Merton Show. The host is Mrs Merton, a character played by the late Caroline Aherne.
This fella with a serious question like a stalker 😂 10:36
Looking closely it appears that Patrick Duffy has had the webs between his fingers surgically removed.

1998 approx. "We've done a Dallas reunion movie" The movie is 1996.
"We've been married for almost 25 years now". They got married in 1974.
Edward Zhitnitsky Thanks
@@Love09081979 It aired on 10 April 1997.
Maybe 1997. Depends on when Larry Hagman's short-lived show Orleans was on
Patrick Duffy don't get the English humour. He's stiff.
*This show is cringe ....I bet he was thinking .."Can my career be any lower" and "I'm going to shoot my agent" 😐*

That was kind of the point with this show, I think. It’s hilarious if you’re in on the joke!
So tell me, Maisy, what first attracted you to the millionaire Paul Daniels?

Are you being serious, it’s called comedy, stop taking it so seriously and be so easily offended, obviously in the woke brigade!
Be sure of the situation first! Haha this is Mrs Merton - you obviously don’t know she’s doing an act.
