WOW!! This is the best and easiest setup for Footprint that I have watched and then duplicated. Well explained for us that have the Sierra Charts package and are new to using it. Just great! Thanks.
Thank you, thank you, thank you very, very, very much for making this video. I never know and thought that these are how the candlesticks were made and used with numbers bars. No wonder why banks and the top traders bank profit all the time
Note that your charts may looks slightly different in terms of font color/size, chart background color, scales, etc because Sierra will open charts by default with your own graphic settings for your specific computer that it is installed in. In order to adjust all these go to Global Settings > Graphic Settings Global, or Chart > Graphic Settings Chart if you do not have the "Use Global Settings" checked. You may also just need to resize the chart windows depending on your monitor's resolution, you may do so by clicking the edge of them and dragging, or go to the Window menu on top and then select an option (cascade, tile, tile as grid, etc) to re-organize the chart windows.
Awesome job. I love the way you explain things so SLOWLY and in detail with all the nitty-gritty stuff which are extremely important. There is a big talk going on about foot prints charts. Do you find them a very crucial arsenal in a trader's tool box? or they are just a hype? How has your trading changed once you transited from a regular candlestick observation to footprint charts?
It depends. I only use footprint on low time frames for quick day trading signals. Some people might use them on higher time frames too. They are definitely useful. Especially to track order absorptions. Are they a magical tool and crucial to success? No. Like anything in trading there is no magic indicator. But yeah it's just another layer of confluence. I still consider Volume Profile my #1 tool. But when I have a good S/R level based on VP or historical market structure and then I look in the Footprint and it confirms traders are trapped (like high aggressive selling coming through at a support level and price won't breakdown for example) then those are useful signals and I use it for help with entries, stop placement and tps.
Hi 😊 Do you have in your channel videos that is explained how to read the footprint chart? Please 🙏 Thanks as well for your time and energy that you put to help us, the new beginners 😊
Hello, First of all, thanks for posting such a valuable content for learning about SC. In second place, I have a couple doubts that I couldn't resolve with your tutorial: 1. For the MIN delta, how can I change colour? I want to set it up in red instead of green but looks like that it cannot be done as values are positive and everything that is positive it will be green. 2. how can I include percentage of delta vs volume? I want to know which percentage of volume is delta. Thanks in advance!
This is a great video. Can you kindly tell me your cursor settings. My sierra doesn’t move like this. It only has a horizontal line for the cursor mouse and doesn’t let me manipulate the chart size like you. Thanks
Hi can you make a video on how to setupd a total volume chart and then the delta chart right next to it, I believe you showcased this in your intrduction to footrpint charts video, if you get the chance I would really appreicate a video, thank you.
Awesome work, thanks 🙏 Couple of things, when I open new chart it’s background is black when I change to white it’s messed up all other colours on chart too, and how to save the chart so if I open new instrument I don’t have to do all again ? Thanks
Just pinned a comment in the video clarifying this issue and how to resolve it. As far as saving, whatever you save before you quit Sierra will be the symbol and settings that the chartbook will open back up with.
Another awesome video! Question: how do you get it so the numbers are not so scrunched up though? If I zoom in, I can't see the numbers, and if I zoom in, I can't see the structure. I have this same issue with the trading DOM
There are several options in the numbers bar (footprint) study settings. At the bottom, called "space adjusting". You can move the numbers to adjust better left/right. You can also change the number size with another option from the list. There is another option near the middle called "number separator character", if you choose 4 spaces that will make them the furthest apart.
Thanks for this! I see that it works for ES really well, but much tougher for NQ, as increasing the space adjustment or font still leaves it squished and too zoomed out to see anything (even if I change the font) or too zoomed in and unable to see structure. Would you mind having a look at NQ - would love to duplicate your settings there 🙏@@PriceActionVolumeTrader
@@PriceActionVolumeTrader The main issue is that it marks a staking but it has 46 price levels and no matter how many times I think about it, I can't find which of them would be valid to have a good signal, so I was asking you about this indicator if you know anything, Thank you beforehand
Hello, I don’t understand a little what you mean about the Asian session, as far as I know, futures contracts have only two sessions, ETH and Regular trading hours, can you please explain this point, I don’t quite understand it
I say Asia cause it’s the first few hours of ETH before and when the major hong kong markets open at 8pm EST. But yes, it’ll all one extended session from 6pm to 9:30am. London and Europe open at 3am EST so I am never awake to trade then. Both the Asia and Europe open increase the volume as the day progresses leading to the RTH open.

Yes. You can add a Volume by Price study to the chart and it will generate a mini volume profile for each candle. You might need to go to the VP study settings and under Volume Graph Period Set it to "Multiple Profiles Based on Bar Count" and then make sure below the Number of Bars for 'Based on Bar Count' is set to "1".
