- 🌺🍓🌺It is a beautiful summer day. David Austin roses are in bloom and Gwen invites her mother for tea. She picks strawberries and makes a pie and then she has to get the garden ready for guests.
The tea we make today is made with fresh strawberries, fresh mint and chamomile and rooibos The chamomile and rooibos are sourced from Harney and Sons Tea. It made a delicious tea!
I am just so pleased that you joined me today. I hope we shall go together again on a little garden adventure. Thank you so much for watching.

🌱🍓Strawberry Pie Recipe🍓🌱
1 baked pie crust, cooled
1 full quart of fresh strawberries
1 cup sugar
1 3 tablespoon cornstarch
1 cup cold water
2 tablespoon strawberry Jello powder
whipped cream
Slice berries into a large bowl and place in refrigerator. In a large saucepan place sugar and cornstarch. Give it a stir. Add the cold water. Over medium heat bring the mixture to a boil and cook until clear. Add jello powder and then cool to room temperature. Add cooled sauce to chilled strawberries and mix until all the berries are coated. Pour into cooled , baked pie shell and spread evenly and chill 4 hours. When ready to serve top with whipped cream, mint, berries and edible flowers.

Your videos are so lovely. My best friends name was Gwen when I was little. We had a mud pie kitchen set up on the edge of the woods . Our cook book was Mud Pies and Other Recipes. We would forage acorns and berry’s, leaves and of course dirt for our mud pies. Your roses are beautiful. With the heat this August mine struggled.They were so pretty prior to the heat wave. Your pie and tea looked so delicious 🌺
Oh dear Mary, I can't believe it but I had the same little book. I think I still have it but could not find it off hand. My dad had built me and my sisters a little play house and we had many happy hour baking mud pies in our

Oh, by the way, you did not respond re whether you participate in any Horticultural Society's garden tours of your yard. If you do, I would love to attend one. I am an avid gardener too and my gardens have been selected for garden tours to the public in 2009 and 2015. It was great fun talking to folks about my gardens.
Hi again, Gwen. So, I have watched all 17 of your videos. Some of them more than once. I really love your videos. Lol. Never mind about my question re the garden tour. I totally understand your inhibition. I personally find you quite brave showing your house on you tube. I would be very scared to do that and I would never do that. Even the 2 garden tours that my houses were in, they were part of an organized garden tour as part of a Horticultural Society here in Canada. No worries. I totally understand. I am looking forward to your Feb video.
