Bergard is so cool, but to me he seems a bit out of place in this team of youngsters. I've also realised I'm a bit confused about Van's timeline. When did he meet Bergard? Was it after he left Aramis? (Come to think of it, why did he leave Aramis?)
@@zbigbozbboy5245 He probably just forgot. I barely remembered that I'd seen Belgard in the first game, too, and I still can't recall how he's connected to Van. Usually I remember characters, but I'm not into 70 y.o. old guys and huge muscles look off-putting to me, so I guess memory can be selective about boring characters. The other poster said that he seemed out of place to him on the team, so his memory was likely selective, too. It'd be a nightmare if we all had to remember everything, even the details that we consider uninteresting and unimportant ;)
@@zbigbozbboy5245 I did play Daybreak, but I don't think Van's early life was explained particularly well. I think I have a better understanding now though, from watching further into Sam's playthrough of this game. Correct me if I'm wrong: Van's origins are unknown, but his earliest days are at the orphanage in Oracion. He makes friends with Elaine and Rune, but then Elaine's father (knowingly or unknowingly?) arranges his adoption into the DG cult. Not sure if it was explained how he eventually escaped from the DG cult (but it would make sense if this is how he met Bergard.) Afterwards he went to Aramis, where he met Elaine and Rune again. But then he left them again for reasons unknown. He did his training with Bergard at that point I think. Then he became a spriggan.
@@AVeryHappyFish I didn't forget him. I just thought it was unlikely that a 70 year old man would be hanging around with kids like Feri, Quatre (and to a certain extent, Agnes). I always enjoy the parts of the story where he gets to interact with peers of his own age like Victor and Rocksmith.
@@TheSarste Vahn past in Orphanage will be mentioned a bit in certain someone connect event. The reason why Van training with Bernard is the same reason why Rean training in 8L1B.
Hurry Sam i gotta share stuff i dont wanna spoil!!!!
