- This project uses TDA1308 Amp module in the core, with additional parts like potentiometer as volume control and on/off switch, short stereo cable for input, stereo socket input, a resistor and 5mm blue LED for power indicator, Li-Ion 18650 battery and the holder, custom chassis (box) enclosure, we can make some Mini HiFi Headphone portable Amplifier with Li-Ion battery powered.
usually headphone amplifier like Cmoy use double 9V battery or single 9V battery. I think 9V battery type only have small capacity (mAh) if compared with Li-Ion 18650, this make 9V battery powering headphone amp for a shorter time...
application:
headphone amplifier for Bluetooth audio receiver
headphone amplifier for audio output from Phone, iPhone, Android, DAP, mp3 player.
3D headphone amplifier (need to connect with 3D sound module) headphone amplifier for PC or laptop
preamplifier
How to make this project?
step 1, modifying output capacitors on TDA1308 Amp module, replacing capacitors from SMD to e-caps 330uF, for better bass response.
step 2, put TDA1308 amp module, on/off with volume control, jumper wire, resistor, and LED indicator on the PCB. PCB layout appears on the video above.
step 3, assembly kit with chassis (box) enclosure with stereo socket input and Li-ion 18650 battery with the holder.
this headphone amplifier has high quality sound, in minimum volume the noise is unheard. very easy to drive some 32 ohm impedance stereo Headphone.

yeaa i have one good Philmore HD3030 Stereo Headphone with Built-In two Volume Controls...
very good sound plus bass
How did you connect pot to controll volume. At which pin does it connect ?
Hocam potansın 6 bacağı var. Soldaki 2 bacak gnd ye bağlanacak. Orta 2 bacak biri left diğeri right giriş TDA1308 board girişlerine bağlanacak. Sağ 2 bacak da ses girişleri için jaka bağlanacak.
It works perfect, thank you
Glad it helped
How did you connect potentiometer to controll volume. At which pin does it connect? Thanks
The potentiometer pins are connected to the PCB tracks with solid wires. You can see it at minute 0:36 to 0:48 in the video.
@@Xpandro thanks, are you using an stereo potentiometer right, can I use a non stereo ones? (5 pines)
For stereo headphones amp use an 8-pin stereo 50K potentiometer sealed with an ON / OFF switch. Those 5-pins are used for mono....
Hi. Did you found how to change something on tda 1308 for low bass. I think sound on tda1308 doesn't had bass.
Hi Robert s, you can see in the previous comment, mods on the output capacitors will improve some bass but it's not huge. for me the characteristic of tda1308 module amp is not suited for bass head, if you want better bass, you can look for MAX4410 amp module.
U are using a really big battery! How long does it last?
I don't do a full test, this amp module is a small power, with a Li-Ion 18650 battery of around 2000 mAh, I think it can be powered for many hours.
@@Xpandro that's for sure! usually low end amps are powered with about 300mah batteries,no wonder if it lasts a month with moderate usage!
Which capacitors did you replaced? Please put some details info.
Hi Sayan, you can see TDA1308 module layout with more "detail" on this link:

modyfying output capacitors on C4 & C5, from 15 uF SMD to 300 uF e-caps. the audio capacitor grade is recommended (Elna, Nichicon, Rubycon, etc).
Xpandro thanks for the fast reply, but I'm thinking about this particular one with pre-installed capacitors. Will this one will be suitable?

All: TPA6112, SGM4812, TDA1308, Amp Module is designed for small portable system. I think the difference not much, but TPA6112 & SGM4812 support for both, differential inputs & balanced input. the TDA1308 only support for balanced input. you can try to buy both amps to discover the best one for your setup...if you curious about every chip parameters, you can download the pdf datasheet on Google.
@@Xpandrowhat is polarity to caps?negitive towards output ?
Yes, you are right... negative side is towards to output.
Voltage of capacitor
The voltage rating of the output capacitor in the datasheet is not mentioned, recently I have used 100uF/16V
