Richard Wielgosz David is becoming a real prick. This is exactly why I will NEVER "donate" anything to him (or any other "RUclipsr.") It isn't a donation at all, it's not like this stuff is going to a museum where the public can see it. It's all going to his personal collection for HIM to play with. He never reads the notes on camera or does what people ask on them, that would slow down the videos and could get very awkward. I'm glad that he doesn't.
I mean, saying you'll never donate anything is a little harsh. I've run across things in the wild that if I were more able to I would have bought thinking that he or LGR would enjoy them. In this instance it seems like the letter may have been a bit confusing as well, in terms of where the items came from, something he said several times. But it did have that request, a quite polite one I thought, to mention their names if he could then he did everything but. It just seemed odd to me.
3:35 Maybe read the note? It's obvious from what you showed on screen. The note is written by a woman whose husband is a fan of your show, and is currently in Afghanistan. Their friend's parents died, and in sorting through their possessions, the friend came across the items in the box. After asking on social media if anyone had a use for them, the note-writer's husband piped up and offered to take the items off the friend's hands, with the intention of sending them to you as fodder for future videos. The note also asks that you mention the friend's deceased parents by name - Paul and Jeanne Catalano.
A couple years late, but David: 1: Probably was in a rush. 2: Didn’t know how to really respond to that note and I can understand that, it’s a very sensitive topic and depending on how he mentioned it, people could’ve went “that’s disrespectful respect the dead!”. I dislike how people are calling out David for being such a “monster” or a jerk. Although it was a bit disrespectful to not give an actual shoutout, again, #2 of what I said above could be a reason and it’s not really that big of a deal to call him out as such a bad guy. Ik you aren’t doing this but in general to other comments.
@@Lancaster-hu6jy I mean, when someone spends money out of their own pocket just to send you stuff that is worth probably hundreds of dollars for free, the _least_ you can do is at least read the letter (Which is not that long).
+GabrielZ666 Yeah...I found that a bit awkward since that was the only thing they wanted to happen....but still, here's to Paul and Jeanne Catalano may they Rest In Peace
I’m sorry but did you even read the note that came in the trunk? You have no idea where the items came from? Thats funny cause i paused the video and it took all of 30 seconds to read the note which fully explained the situation. That guy went out of his way to get that item for you, while he was overseas, paid $80 to ship it, and all he asked for was a small shout out to the original owners who had passed. Cmon man you can do better than this.
He should read the notes for the video. It's the least he can do in return for the people who send him this stuff and in unboxing videos I've seen on other channels they do it.
Justin Noker If he could set up some interesting exhibits, like replicating a 1980s office or even homer coders bedroom, and let people actually use the computers in some way, that'd be really cool. Probably could draw in quite a lot of interest too.
I love all the content you put out. Whether it's documentaries, computer repairs, or just general reviews of old and new tech it's always super interesting and fun to watch. Thanks for all the amazing content.

Yes, not only Sonic The Hedgehog was available for the Master System, but also it was the default in-ROM game for the Master System II (a "cheaper" redesigned version of the Master System, mostly sold in Europe and pretty rare in the US). If you powered it without a cartridge, you'd get Sonic ! Also, this game had a sequel on the Master System (Sonic II), quite different from the Megadrive/Genesis version.
This was only in later models of the Master System II, earlier ones had Alex Kidd built in. After the massive success of Sonic on the Genesis/Mega Drive, Sega decided to make Sonic games for their older 8-Bit systems (Master System/Game Gear). These games were not ports of the 16-Bit versions but actually completely unique titles and there's quite a few of them. Sonic Chaos on the Master System is by far the best of those 8-Bit Sonic games.
That robot brings back so many memories. I had one of those as a kid and it was so cool. You can program it to follow a piece of tape on the ground, you can talk into the remote and the mouth would light up as you talked, it has so many advanced features from back then it was amazing!
3:32 That letter was totally legible, and I believe it was VERY clear that they wanted you to mention their parents. I can't reasonably believe you failed to understand that - and if you did, how come? It says it very clearly. It's a bit of a story, sure, and I know things are tough time-wise but it seems as if you didn't recognize it. Infact, I didn't. Because I had 3 seconds to read it, but you had gotten the gist, so you must have seen it. I'm not accusing you of being negligent or apathetic or anything I'm just very curious...
Taehun Lee Yes, it's a command from the old 'BASIC' programming language, where BASIC stands for "Beginner's All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code".In this language, you can have a so-called Array of either numbers or characters (letters), and you create the array with the command DIM - e.g. DIM Variablename(100) will give you space for 100 numbers. Now, sometimes you may need to extend the array to make space for more numbers, and this is done with the REDIM command, where the 'PRESERVE' option keeps the numbers already present, intact.
P.S. I forgot to add that back in the 1980s, home comuters typically came with BASIC built in, so my joke is in keeping with 8-Bit Guy's passion for old hardware.
The Sanctuary RUclips Channel I get you, but I wasn't criticizing 8 bit guy. I actually think it's hilarious that he threatens to stop these videos and then basically makes only these videos. I don't know if it's intentional, but I kinda hope it is intentional. I love this channel so I have zero hate about the content. I'm actually very happy he can make a living restoring C64s, etc. I've had many sleeper cell-esk memories of childhood toys that I had completely forgot about suddenly come back to me out of no where. It's worth my $5/month to have someone work on my childhood full time. I don't deny him the right to make money, but as a lover of comedy, it would make me very happy if it was a meme that goes on for years and years.
I'm really glad you are keeping older computers and technology alive, but also it's fascinating to see computers I've never heard of. Thank you very much.
Tj & Ja The only problem is manpower. He can't possibly run the youtube channel while working on Planet X3 *and* running a museum on top of it. It is a clever idea to make storage economically viable, but it may not be possible in David's situation.
Tj & Ja Or better yet, someone ELSE should just start a museum for vintage electronics and people should donate things THERE instead of just giving free stuff to David for him to play with.
I felt like they should be honorable mentions & a BIG thank you for all the people that donated these awesome stuff to him. I hope he makes a video of each item he receives
Is it just me or are you becoming almost hostile to people who donate things to you? They spend time and money gathering, boxing, and shipping to you from all over the place and you don't bother giving them more time. I was particularly irked when you didn't go through that giant black chest a little more. 'Husband in Afghanistan', as like _on duty_ as one of the few still there? Wow, people in service really do deserve more. Oh and I just read the letter fully, so a _thank you_ to Paul and Jeanne of Stow, Ohio, and sorry to anybody for family losses.
You can hold raffles or something on you duplicate donations, or stuff you can't get working. Many of your viewers aren't just interested in collectable nostalgia, but are electronics engineers who might see this stuff through different eyes. Cough. Cough.
@Joe Blow If your primary motivation for sending a gift is to be kissed at the feet with gratitude, then you deserve to be sorely disappointed. People continue to send him donations knowing full well that Dave doesn't spend thirty minutes showering his donators with praise. He's very intelligent but he lacks certain interpersonal skills. He's not malicious for this oversight. There are legitimate barriers to comprehending that note. What seems clear to you isn't necessarily clear to everyone. He continues to repeat that he's running out of room for the stuff but people choose to send him things anyway. If you've been around different people that are quite intelligent you'll find that some of them can't comprehend things outside of the language they're used to seeing.
Ooh, a DX100! Wonderful little keyboard. It uses a YM2151 synthesizer, which makes it one of the BEST 80s/early 90s digital synths Yamaha made in my opinion. You can find rips of YM2151 instrument data online or make it yourself, and if you can put that on the synthesizer then you could effectively have a way to play the sounds of games like Space Harrier or Outrun on a keyboard.
Albert Tománek The analogue hybrids are actually close-ish, but I wish one came with a small LCD screen to display notification text while minimising power consumption. I'm sure a stylish and functional compromise could be made with enough creativity.
The Robie Sr. was my most sought after/wished toy that I never received as a child. I did end up getting the Robie Jr. which was seriously one of my favorite and most influential toys growing up. I hope you get that old guy working! :)
Classic 8-Bit Guy: Completely oblivious to the fact that german state television has sent him stuff. And next time: Kim Jong Un sends in his wristwatch and Dave doesn't even blink
I actually love these unboxing videos because I get to see hardware, software, media formats, etc. that I never knew it existed (like those Amstrad disks from the previous unboxing video and that modular laptop shown in this video). It certainly improves my knowledge of old stuff. Even if the videos will be fewer soon, I'll be looking forward to them--it's just like visiting a museum.
3:33 The note states pretty clearly where the stuff came from. Also, you missed the polite request by the sender to mention the names of the deceased parents. I hope you will remember to show that respect in the next unboxing episode.
I used to have a DX-100, was a great "keytar", I used a guitar strap, and used it to trigger MIDI events for other keyboards through my Atari ST (an Ensoniq EPS and DX-7) and play baselines live with a band. While it sounded a bit plain in poly mode, it can combine all it's synth resources into a mono-synth for some really rich sounds. Today I ditched that whole setup and use a Yamaha Motif 6, which is now getting close to 20 years old, making it even older than those other keyboards were when I had sold them.
Agreed x100...I think David's brevity is what makes his unboxings so great. It isn't lazily shot and unedited, he just goes for the meat and potatoes of the experience and uses good editing to keep us from being bored. I'm going to miss the monthly unboxings, but I understand why you have to cut back. :(
Not cool, David. Making a "Top Ten Donations" is like picking your "Top Ten Christmas/Birthday presents". People gave those to you, at cost of shipping to them, but no cost to you. People thought you would enjoy or use them well, not criticize them and narrow down to favorites. This stuff had sentimental value to them. Point is: It's okay to like some donations more than others, but don't put your opinion on that topic up, because some of your donators could get upset. I'm not trying to be mean or anything, I'm just saying you should more carefully consider segments.
@@morganminecraftlegion9101 You should not waste your time replying to these kinds of comments. They won't learn anything from them, no matter what way you decide to tell them.
Looking forward to more of Commodore Computer History, as well as the restoration and playtesting of that really sweet DX-100. Also, tomorrow, the severe weather scale for a good portion of the midwest is looking to be extreme. Keep an eye out, and stay safe, David. I know that I'll be doing the same since I'm affected as well...
What kills me to this day is that since the mid 1990s I'd been holding onto a perfectly working Mac PowerBook 180, 1GB ext. drive, SCSI-to-ethernet adapter, etc. It was a long and painful decision to finally let go and junk it all... only to discover this channel a few months later. Thanks to your explanation at the beginning, I can tell myself that you didn't need any of that anyway and I won't feel so bad about it anymore. Anyway, thanks again for another cool video and all the neat stuff you share.
We got two of those Kraft joysticks bundled with the C64 when it was new. I remember the sticks broke off pretty quickly so my dad had to make up various ways of repairing and re-repairing them.
Just one of many commenting on the missing shoutout requested in the note, really rubbed me the wrong way, especially in light of the donation, the specific request, and the surrounding circumstance of somebody passing away.
Several all-in-one stereos in the late 70s and early 80s had 8-track recorders built in. My grandmother had one. Wish I remembered the brand and model.
3:05 Gorilla Trunk! got a bunch on those myself! if I had to guess the person who sent it was in the military. I've only seen these sold on military bases when I was in. I've yet to see them anywhere else.
Omnibot! The freaking robot! Yamaha has an app called FM Essential with the DX100 voices on it. Fun to play with. If you take your phone to a Yamaha dealer and plug into an MX with a USB cable it unlocks all the voices. I love your shows, especially keyboard ones.
I have an 8-Track recorder and a handful of blanks. I used it to make 8-Track tapes of modern music for my brother's 1970 Dodge Dart, so he could have his tunes on the original 1970s era audio system.
Sonic the hedgehog on 8:19 was sent from a serious ebay seller company from Germany called "Konsolenkost". I've bought many things from them, mostly consoles and games. Very glad to see them on 8-bit guy unboxing episode!
If he were to make a museum tour video, including his storage spaces, he would probably get hundreds of comments giving ideas about getting the most storage for the space.
So I apologize if this seems overly critical but I'm trying to be constructive as well which means a little harshness. I like your videos, I do, I love seeing history on things old and new. Computers I used or my parents used as kids, its fascinating. Your videos are degrading in quality in my opinion. One thing I saw RUclipsr LGR talk about a year ago was burn out and separating work from home life. Stating that having his job at his home and being surrounded by his machines and games was making him emotionally ill. I feel like your starting to detach yourself from this stuff too... There are some moments that I felt like you've left bad tastes and bad vibes in the mouth of innocent viewers. Latest highlights? -Top 10's of donations is a little elitist IMO -I turned on this video KNOWING you were gonna comment on how much you get, you've mentioned it before, why are you apologizing? We'd rather see you show us a cool new device in a full video than complain about space and list of wants. -I felt bad that you didnt give that couple that passed away a good mention. That was a little unfair, hell they spent $80 bucks JUST in shipping. $80 bucks! Overall we as RUclips viewers just want to see you have a good time, not a bad one. Just relax and play the cards that will get you likes. Not the ones that seem to be unnecessary protocol. I will happily continue viewing but so far it just doesnt feel the same.
The Sanctuary RUclips Channel I didn't realize this was a taboo. I mean, it's true and a sturn point of view but you're right and I changed it to be a little less blunt. I'm not trying to dethrone him, I just want to see a happier tone come from his videos.
Soulifix it's not even just about the note.. that is what it is. I'm commenting mostly on the fact that his videos are lacking in content, he seems burned out and overall it just isn't fun for us viewers anymore.
First off, I don't understand your correlation between blunt and "the internet of 2018" I stand by what I say with "we hold the power as viewers" because we do. Much like consumerism, if we dislike his supply, we will take away our demand. He should be respecting the wishes of his viewers, be it the comments on a video, the note of a loyal fan and wishing for mentions, or else he has no audience. Patreon is a means to an income and people have minute spending power within these videos. Second, You're trying to curve my behavior and mannerism's which you have no reason to do so. Either agree with me as it seems like you did and let it ride, or disagree and give me a good reason. You tell me not to say "us viewers" which makes it weird for me to have to defend but again, I stand by it. As the rest of the comment feed reveals, im not the only one that finds these videos to be more and more jarring. I wouldn't have made such a remark if others didn't see it too.
Awesome video. I'm excited you're planning to get around to the Commodore Amiga line of computers. So much time of my early youth was spent on a hand me down Amiga 1000 and when my father was gracious enough I got to play with his accelerated Amiga 2000 with a 68030. I can't wait to see what kind of wonderful nostalgia that video will give me. :-)
I've been waiting for him to do a really creepy face. like when he cuts back to himself in the studio to finish whatever he was saying in the cutaway to the featured object. He should hold the camera on his face and just look at the camera for an uncomfortably long time and maybe sort of start to turn his head, narrow his eyes and half smile. I dont know if that makes sense, but there you go.
That Seiko watch looks interesting. Can't wait to see what it does. Actually, you are getting some of the more obscure and fascinating gear from the golden era and you have me salivating in anticipation of each new video you put up. You REALLY do need to crowdfund a museum for all this stuff, it is FAR too interesting to simply be the custodian of it all, it would be great if people had a place to visit and get to experience the 1980's in a truly HANDS-ON environment. If you build it, They will come.
My parents had an 8-track recorder, they would record their vinyl records to 8-track to play in their cars. Yes, all the cars in my family had 8-track players back in the early 80's.
But he already threw them out... In case you don't remember, in a previous unboxing video he mentioned people sending things in after he told them no, and he would just throw them out when that happened.
Maaaaan, when you showed the Sonic cartridge for the Master System, memories started to come back. I still remember beating this game ONCE - on said Master System, the second model to be precise.
Derek Buesking yeah, and some of that free stuff is pretty rare...just to wind up in his personal collection for him to play with. Seems pretty dumb to me.
Hello again from the Norwegian robot collector. Congrats on getting a Hearoid! I was thinking of sending you a robot myself, but barely have the funds to feed my own robots right now. I'm fixing up my own Hearoid now too, so am looking forward to seeing a new episode about yours. Maybe I'll learn something I missed, or learn something from mine I could share.
Short videos are okay, please release stuff at your own pace - don't feel like you owe us anything because you don't - you already doing us a great favor editing those videos well. We'll happily watch whatever you release whenever you do. (Although I'm super hyped now, can't wait to see stuff you mentioned). Awesome episode as always, thanks.
I've been watching this channel for almost a year now, and I've always enjoyed the content. However, I never watched these unboxing videos until a few days ago, and I almost wish that I hadn't. I'm sure he means well, but they give an air of ungratefulness. It's not the repeated statements of "I'm running out of this I need, so these are gonna start ramping down" that bother me, I find those totally fine, there's no point in someone donating something that the person doesn't want. Lets talk about the letters for a moment, I was always under the impression that David read them off camera, and wouldn't want to take 10 minutes reading every letter on the video, so showing it was just a little "here it is for you to look at if you want" thing. As odd as the letter itself was with some interesting multiple instances of the word "Afghanistan", it really wasn't that hard to understand what the letter was about, and it struck me as the first moment where I started to think that maybe he doesn't really read them before shooting the unboxings. Past that, I was really surprised some basic research wasn't done on some of these donators, Tavis Ormandy is pretty well known in the tech field (he has a Wikipedia page for crying out loud), and David didn't even seem to bother to pronounce his name correctly later on in the video. The other thing that kinda rubbed me the wrong way, was the Top 10 donations at the end. As others have commented, it seems a tad disrespectful to those who have donated items, to sit down and create a list of "the best" things you've received from people. It's like getting a bunch of gifts from family members for Christmas, and then sitting down and telling everyone which were the favorite ones you got. It just makes you seem unappreciative towards those who donated who weren't mentioned. I'm sure it didn't mean to come out that way, but it did. Long rant aside, I'm still enjoying this channel, and the content is for the most part really enjoyable. I'm super excited for the continuation of the Commodore history videos. That being said, as others have mentioned in their comments, these unboxing videos have started to change how I perceive David as a person.
Starting to hate those videos. Not even appreciating the donations, not reading notes, and not even a mention of the parents that passed away. Very disappointed.

@@Lancaster-hu6jy I mean, when someone spends money out of their own pocket just to send you stuff that is worth probably hundreds of dollars for free, the _least_ you can do is at least read the letter (Which is not that long).
@@Lancaster-hu6jy Ouch.
@3:27, You didnt mention the parents.
+GabrielZ666 Yeah...I found that a bit awkward since that was the only thing they wanted to happen....but still, here's to Paul and Jeanne Catalano may they Rest In Peace
Maybe he will mention them on the laptop review
I’m sorry but did you even read the note that came in the trunk? You have no idea where the items came from? Thats funny cause i paused the video and it took all of 30 seconds to read the note which fully explained the situation. That guy went out of his way to get that item for you, while he was overseas, paid $80 to ship it, and all he asked for was a small shout out to the original owners who had passed. Cmon man you can do better than this.
Yeah that genuinely frustrated me. They said Afghanistan at least 4 times.
In his defense, maybe he's saving the shout-out for the actual video, but I agree, the letter was pretty clear.
Yeah. He needs to invest some time in the people behind the donation, not just on his desire for stuff.
He should read the notes for the video. It's the least he can do in return for the people who send him this stuff and in unboxing videos I've seen on other channels they do it.
Ace Rimmer Yea, you're a piece of shit,
You should open a museum! I'd gladly pay $3-5 to go to it!
I'd gladly pay that for the stuff! :D
Just 3-5? :o
Bunch of old garbage that has no practical funcionality
He doesn't charge to let you view his personal museum
Justin Noker If he could set up some interesting exhibits, like replicating a 1980s office or even homer coders bedroom, and let people actually use the computers in some way, that'd be really cool. Probably could draw in quite a lot of interest too.
3:28 MY RESPECT FOR MR &MS CATALANO. :(
May your souls rest in peace, Castalanos.
It's good that you're reducing the frequency of these if you're going to get names wrong and not read their letters.
Damn, that's actually really cool of sega. Back when they actually knew how to handle their most powerful franchise.
There were also Master System versions of Sonic Chaos and Sonic Blast exclusive to South America
Also Sonic for Master System is also ported to Game Gear
This was only in later models of the Master System II, earlier ones had Alex Kidd built in.
After the massive success of Sonic on the Genesis/Mega Drive, Sega decided to make Sonic games for their older 8-Bit systems (Master System/Game Gear). These games were not ports of the 16-Bit versions but actually completely unique titles and there's quite a few of them. Sonic Chaos on the Master System is by far the best of those 8-Bit Sonic games.
I have seen Master System II consoles with "Hangon" installed if I remember correctly.
That robot brings back so many memories. I had one of those as a kid and it was so cool.
You can program it to follow a piece of tape on the ground, you can talk into the remote and the mouth would light up as you talked, it has so many advanced features from back then it was amazing!
3:32
That letter was totally legible, and I believe it was VERY clear that they wanted you to mention their parents.
I'm not accusing you of being negligent or apathetic or anything I'm just very curious...
love your videos , but you could of at least mentioned the Catalonos as asked in the note. disappointed.
If only David's problem could be solved like this:
REDIM DaveHouse(+500)
Perhaps better Redim Preserve (500 + 1) 😉
Yes of course, we should *DEFINITELY* preserve the current contents of the array.
Is it some sort of a command? I am too young to understand that
Taehun Lee
Yes, it's a command from the old 'BASIC' programming language, where BASIC stands for "Beginner's All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code".In this language, you can have a so-called Array of either numbers or characters (letters), and you create the array with the command DIM - e.g.
Complaining about getting sent stuff, and threatening to stop these videos had become a meme of this channel.
Nick Tomkin I generally like his vids but this arrogance and ungrateful attitude has made me consider unsubscribing
Lmao who the fuck cares. Just watch the video gay boy
Oil Rigger it wasn't a complaint. 😂
Nick, maybe, one day someone will point this out and make a RUclips poop or something about it. A shitpost maybe.
I hope one day, Stallone offers you the robot from Rocky IV :)

I'm really glad you are keeping older computers and technology alive, but also it's fascinating to see computers I've never heard of. Thank you very much.
Crowdfunding - buy space for an 8-bit museum. Store all your things there, and extras in the basement. Id fly to Texas to find and visit it.
Cough. Cough.
Virtue Signalling
schitlipz Virtue Signalling
Grease Ball, smoke signalling. Maybe stop chaffing your wood... erm, twig.
Holy crap that seiko watch. Literally a 1980s smart watch.
I want that so bad, please tell me they're not expensive!
It is indeed, but I just want a programmable smartwatch-esque thing that doesnt drain itself in a week or less like modern smartwatches.
Be N S O N Pity the Pebble is getting deprecated. I'd say that it was the modern equivalent to that watch.
Albert Tománek The analogue hybrids are actually close-ish, but I wish one came with a small LCD screen to display notification text while minimising power consumption.
I'm sure a stylish and functional compromise could be made with enough creativity.
David's so savage that he included the notes crumbled up in the video's T199 game cartridge segment.
R.I.P. Paul and Jeanne Catalano!
Dreikelvin Media & Sound Not really, it was someone who worked there and used our GEZ money for the stamps.
@@w.w.7148 Just like all the Amazon employees who keep sending him stuff, right?
Neither do we have "state television" here, nor was this sent by NDR.
we still love your channel, it doesn't matter whether you get stuff to unbox for us, we will always watch your channels for fun.
Tavis* Ormandy, like Tavis Smiley. He's a pretty famous researcher!
Teddy M I noticed that too! This guy is a big shot over at Google. I get half of my cyber security news from his research!
I did a double take when I saw that!
Same, had to rewind to make sure. Santa Clara, checks out.
Chris Harrington yeah, me too. Had to double check when he said Travis rather than Tavis.
There’s 3 of us :) funny you caught that he got the name wrong. It’s a daily routine for us Tavis’z.
I had a Robie Sr. Sold it after so many years, but I still have the box in which I store vintage computer stuff and such. Fun robot!
2:45 Oooh! Super Caesar's Palace was one of my favorite SNES games back in the day. (I loved me some digital gambling!) Good get!
I learned alot playing that game!
Damn fine game!
You're one of the rare few who can turn opening the mail into a good video!
Agreed. I'm not even tech savvy, but I'm as excited about the unboxings as he is, and often very jealous.
:) :D
The other being idubbbz? I sure do watch a wide range of youtubers...
I know. I hate all unboxing videos on RUclips, except for 8-bit-guy's unboxing videos
Happy 8-Bit Unboxing Anniversary! Keep up the good work, David!
You are gay and stupid
Is this really the best insult you could come up with?
@@morganminecraftlegion9101 You should not waste your time replying to these kinds of comments. They won't learn anything from them, no matter what way you decide to tell them.

Looking forward to more of Commodore Computer History, as well as the restoration and playtesting of that really sweet DX-100.
Also, tomorrow, the severe weather scale for a good portion of the midwest is looking to be extreme. Keep an eye out, and stay safe, David. I know that I'll be doing the same since I'm affected as well...
wtf you should have went through the box of stuff that came in the tote, whats the point of unboxing if you skip like half of it?
What kills me to this day is that since the mid 1990s I'd been holding onto a perfectly working Mac PowerBook 180, 1GB ext. drive, SCSI-to-ethernet adapter, etc. It was a long and painful decision to finally let go and junk it all... only to discover this channel a few months later. Thanks to your explanation at the beginning, I can tell myself that you didn't need any of that anyway and I won't feel so bad about it anymore. Anyway, thanks again for another cool video and all the neat stuff you share.
*Episode 209*
I'm really glad I found this channel because it opened me up to the wonderful world of retro tech
When you get around to the Commodore PET, be sure to show the microsoft easter egg. ;-) Not too many people seem to know about it.

He talked about it before
Let's hope he doesn't do the Death Poke for Commodore PET's.
We got two of those Kraft joysticks bundled with the C64 when it was new. I remember the sticks broke off pretty quickly so my dad had to make up various ways of repairing and re-repairing them.
The fact that he's getting all this stuff for free, you'd think at least he'd offer to pay for the postage.
Unboxing has never been my favorite kind of videos, so no tears around here.
Although I still watch and thumb up just to support this awesome channel.
3:30 yep military ha ha
Omnibot! The freaking robot! Yamaha has an app called FM Essential with the DX100 voices on it. Fun to play with. If you take your phone to a Yamaha dealer and plug into an MX with a USB cable it unlocks all the voices. I love your shows, especially keyboard ones.
Have you ever thought about making a video about old ThinkPads?
I’d love to see a video like that!

labeling the episodes now?
Love that we're warming up both weather-wise and 8-Bit Guy content-wise for May here in Michigan! Great news, David.
No shoutout for Jeanne and Paul? Do you even read notes anymore?
-Top 10's of donations is a little elitist IMO
-I turned on this video KNOWING you were gonna comment on how much you get, you've mentioned it before, why are you apologizing?
A little sad. Your unboxing videos are some of my favorites. I love to see other people get fun stuff in packages!
Unbox therapy would love this xD
Awesome video. I'm excited you're planning to get around to the Commodore Amiga line of computers. So much time of my early youth was spent on a hand me down Amiga 1000 and when my father was gracious enough I got to play with his accelerated Amiga 2000 with a 68030. I can't wait to see what kind of wonderful nostalgia that video will give me. :-)
No creepy face this time
I've been waiting for him to do a really creepy face. like when he cuts back to himself in the studio to finish whatever he was saying in the cutaway to the featured object.
Love this channel so much. Great stuff always.
Travis McP ikr
My parents had an 8-track recorder, they would record their vinyl records to 8-track to play in their cars. Yes, all the cars in my family had 8-track players back in the early 80's.
Also do a top ten WORST sent in items! Muahahahah
What a hard life you live. People give you free stuff.
You did not mention Paul and Jeanne 3:28.
I always watch your videos. Thanks for all you do to connect me to my childhood!
Start giving some of it away to your viewers or donate it
Talk about blast from the past. I had a omnibot 2000 growing up
I have to ask you to ACTUALLY go back to the projects you said you would. Please?!?
WHOA! The production values on this video are GREAT!
Starting to hate those videos. Not even appreciating the donations, not reading notes, and not even a mention of the parents that passed away. Very disappointed.
Can't wait to see your videos on the TRS-80/ COCO line of computers. The CoCo 3 is one of my personal favorite 8-bit home computers.
