- How to connect the Epson XP-245 to your Wi-Fi using the WPS method.
1] With the printer on, press and hold the Wi-Fi button for around 3 seconds.
2] The Wi-Fi light will now begin to flash.
3] On your router press the WPS button.
4] Some routers may need to you to hold the button for a few seconds.
5] It may take some time for the printer to connect.
6] Eventually, the Wi-Fi light should become a solid green to indicate it is connected.
7] You can press the "info" button to print out a report.
8] This will confirm whether is it connected.
9] This process only connects the printer to your Wi-Fi, it does not install it on your devices.
The instructions are similar for the following printers:
Epson XP-200, XP-205, XP-211, XP-215, XP-220, XP-225, XP-235, XP-243, XP-247, XP-255, XP-257
I tried a few times, didn't work at first, I reset my router and tried again, I PRESSED the WPS button on my router rather than holding it, and it worked :) this printer has been the bane of my life!
Wasted 6 hours trying to connect mine. Still will not connect. First and last time I buy Epson. Wasted my weekend :(

This video is something great. I have looked for a tutorial or a manual to follow, but they were so difficult to understand. This video helped me in 2 minutes, so I have to thank you. Wow!
This video actually helped me with my connection. I recently moved house, and in the process changed router. I couldn't work out on my computer or via my Epson iPhone app how to update my connection with the new router, even though I had gone through the online manual and checked the Epson site. I mean seriously, I kept searching for internet connection and it gave instructions that I didn't understand - and in all honesty were not relevant (now that I know what the solution was). I updated all of my software, etc, but in the end I just needed to re-establish my internet connection. As you can probably gather, I am not technically savvy. I preferred when I could print from my phone, without the need to use the Epson App. I have had three Epson printers, and I feel they have made it more difficult to use through the changes they have made over the years. But for now, I've got it working again, thanks to the help from this video.

Me too, the Epson instructions are the opposite of instructions, but in the other hand, is one great piece of technology! Awesome product for the price.

Does it matter that my router is upstairs and my printer downstairs? The report said my signal strength was poor and says to check the SSID and password but there is no where for me to do this it wont show up on my laptop the printer?
WPS = Wi-Fi Protected Setup must be allowed on your router. Some routers like mine (EE / Orange box) must have this allowed (probably for extra security): I had to log in the router go to Advanced/Wireless Settings/Wi-Fi Protected Setup/ and tick radio-button "Enable". Also the button could be less obvious than the BT example in the video (on my box it is stealthily blended as a tongue rather than a button in the top-middle-back part of the router).

I have an issue, holding down the wifi button for those 3 seconds doesnt do anything. No light comes on on the printer. Regardless of how long I hold the button down for.

when i press the wps button on my router, my printer light blinks only orange.
The manuals are so hard to understand. I wouldn't have gotten my printer to work without you. Keep up the great work!

I've tried this like 9 times until the red and green leds both flashed at the same time. Then i turned it off and on again and now it actually works.
Got a box with new printer Epson WF-2010W with A CD!!! Are they for real!? First bad sign. As I thought everything else was a nightmare of experience, reminded me of my youth PC days, where you have to be an IT deparetment and everything was a mission. I had this issue as well - it may appears as the infinity symbol on the back of your modem

Not clear instructions. Should we press and hold the WPS button after pressing the Wifi Button? If this is the case my arm is going to have to stretch a fair bit from from office basement to the router upstairs!

I tried this on my Epson XP-205 and the lights stopped blinking but the orange light remained solidly on, no green light. Any ideas, please?

I just changed the ink and it has finally connected, I just carnt get it to connect to my app now 🤷♀️

Biggest pile of shit going.
It decided to just stop working, it will not recognize the computer, it will not recognize shit and it is just another pile of poorly designed and developed crap printer.
Get rid of wifi printers, they are a fucking nightmare to setup, and when you do set them up, they decide that after a while they want to disconnect themselves and never connect again.
Completely random, so typical of human tech, utter rubbish.
The only good printer is a printer you can connect with a wire. Wifi is exceedingly poor quality, as is this Epson machine.
Does the printer need to be connected to a laptop or pc to do this

Was close to tears of frustration trying to print out fight tickets and couldn't figure out how to connect printer to new Sky router - I'm old and not IT smart. So very easy after watching this - couple of minutes and its done. Thank you.

Can anyone help ? I have this printer and at my old house it’s been synced to my old sky router ! I’ve now moved house and have a Bt router ! It always looks for the sky router hence it can never connect ! How do I fix this ?

I followed the instructions. Wi-Fi indicator starts to blink orange green at first. After a couple seconds it switches to orange and stays orange. What now?

1. you need to find xp-245 setup software on official epson website
2. click on Support
section
3. download Epson product setup (optionaly Epson software updater
)
4. run it with printer pluged by USB to your computer, and setup wifi name and password
5. unplug and run with wifi
I do not have access to the WiFi router as I am in barracks. And this seems to be the only solution other than a USB which is not in the packaging and I have no time to get one currently. Any solutions?

Try the other way around as described here: first press WPS on your router, after that press Wi-Fi button on your printer...worked for me.

The WF2010W is an utterly shit printer if you are going to use EXPENSIVE non-Epson ink and paper. The S21 model we had before worked BRILLIANTLY using cheap inks and photo paper, but got killed-off with a serious paper jam. I bought one of these to replace it and have had nothing but problems. When I finally got it to print sharp and with true black, I noticed that colours are blurring days after printing a razor shapr image. I am using the same brands of ink and paper as theeir previous S21 model and my bro has no problems with his S22 printer and cheap inks/paper. Epson have rigged the game and are forcing you into buying their expensive inks and paper. DON'T BUY THEIR WORKFORCE PRINTERS IF YOU DON'T WANT TO USE THEIR EXPENSIVE PRINTING PRODUCTS!!!!!!!!

This didn't work for me but i used the instructions on the Epson iprint app for Wi-Fi Direct Set-up and chose the printer without lcd screen option and it worked.
When I press the WiFi button on the printer nothing happens. Have turned the printer on and off several times. Any suggestions?
Have you added the ink cartridges first?
This is absolutely perfect instruction and should absolutely work, but it isn't for me. For whatever reason, the wifi connection lights work fine when you turn the printer on, but even after pushing the WPS button on the router, it just won't connect. I don't know what else to try short of wiring it, but I need to put the printer way further than a wired connection will work for.

Does this printer support AirPrint iPhone? Cause my iPhone cannot find. Says there is no device for AirPrint. For iMac I haven't installed any app. Just did as you show on the vide. But it seems like for iPhone I need install the app. Correct?

Make sure you have the cartridge and paper in the printer otherwise you will never get to install this !
