It's difficult to break the silence after the performance ends. This is probably one of the pieces of art one ought to be exposed to in a lifetime before dying.
I can't think of a better arrangement of Schubert's Serenade than this one by Merz. And I can't think of a better performance than this by Marcin. Thank you, Marcin.
I don't think I've seen a guitarist's face to be more expressive than perhaps the musical piece itself. Amazing conversation between the musician and his instrument.
This is amongst the most beautiful performance of music that I have heard . One is not only amazed by his technique on the classical guitar but more important his dynamics are hauntingly beautiful and nearly brought me to tears . His musicality has equaled his technique which is what makes a true musician . It’s not Segovia that he conjures in my brain but Vladimir Horowitz . I don’t recall Segovia raising such feelings in me by his playing . I and he were both too surprised that this could be done on the guitar . Dylan has joined the ranks of Perlman , Isaac Stern and Horowitz . Just fabulous!
That's so amazingly beautiful, so perfect, masterful, filled with emotion. Now, once I started learning this piece, Marcin's performance sounds even better and more enjoyable than before.
To jest piękny utwór i fantastyczna wersja!! Marcin Dylla to mój rodak... Dziękuję, dziękuję z całego serca! This is a beautiful piece and a fantastic version !! Marcin Dylla is my compatriot ... Thank you, thank you with all my heart!
A beautiful performance. The arrangement of this is incredible (Mertz?). It is amazing that he can make all the distinct voices in this piece come through so beautifully
Now that was special. Alota guitarists have beeen given crowns lately and all too soon, this guys star has been steadily shining, we will see what the future holds...
Yes indeed - Mertz did a great job - a wonderful far too little known composer for guitar. If my record company had let me I'd have done a whole LP of just Mertz. As it was, I had to put him in with various other composers.
Music offered to someone for a special occasion, e.g. B. to honor him or to make him happy "to serenade someone" Definition of Ständchen. Made me happy! Beautiful touch...
One can feel emotions and feelings of such soft yet magical melody. Once such melody is heard in beautiful yet old Italian town, it becomes a sweet memory.
Omg dude…this song always makes me cry and this was no exception!!! This is I think my fave version of this song! Wow! You played both parts! And your fingers just gently slid across the fret with such ease! I’m currently trying to learn this on the guitar… I’ll never be able to play like this, but what an inspiration! Thank you! Beautiful!!!!
he escuchado esta melodia de FRANZ SCHUBERT incontables veces y creo que la interpretacion en guitarra de MARCIN DYLLA es la mas bella y profunda, me transporta a las nubes
Your performance has strongly seized my heart. I couldn't sleep for these days. As night comes on, you also begin to play in my heart and you take me to my reminicsent age, which has passed and far away.
I have played this Schubert as a cello solo, cello duet, and cello with piano accompanist. The bow can sustain, and connect notes, so I prefer the cello versions. Having said that, I love the guitar version, too!🥰
Total devotion to the guitar by this master. Worrying about the strings, types of wood used on the guitar does not matter to us "fingerpickers". We play the guitar. The masters evoke from the guitar. Big difference.
Marcin, I just love listening and watching you play! So incredibly expressive! And such an amazing guitarist! I'm an old rocker from the 60s-70s and I know how you feel when you play and hear a certain passage that makes you smile or grown or cry. Forgive me for using this example here on a classical forum but I have those strong feelings and reactions when I hear Jimi Hendrix play certain passages like the long sustained note in "Machine Gun" on Band of Gypsys. I just image the screams of pain by the people in war. I will be following you from now on. Thank you.
What a real great pleasure to see you my dear Marcin and listen to your performances, you are awesome, thanks for sharing 💖 Thank you very much, "Siccas Guitars", for the post.
This is Schubert's inspired melody, his homage, to an idyll of love via the divine art of Music. We feel as we listen to it, that he must have been deeply moved when writing it. In my opinion, it richly deserves to be in the company of his many other masterpieces. Here it is exquisitely performed by Marcin Dylla. Bravo.
¡Sublime!... gracias por compartir tu arte y una melodía tan exquisita... cuando las notas de una melodía hacen mover las fibras mas sensibles e tu corazón, debes entender que estas frente a una obra y un artista movidos por la mano e Dios. Gracias Marcin Dylla

He plays as if he knows every word of this intensely emotional song. Superb!

Is the guitar playing him as he holds and creates a deep conversation with the music of Schubert ...lovely ❤️
I have never in my life heard polyphony done this way on a guitar. Just brilliant.
This is the first time I heard"Serenade" song played by a fabulous guitarist.Wonderful,I loved it very much.Thank you.
I don't think I've seen a guitarist's face to be more expressive than perhaps the musical piece itself. Amazing conversation between the musician and his instrument.
When emotion, expression, technical abilities and a good rythm feel are coming together in
one person, you get this result! Simply great. Thumbs up.

By far the most supreme guitar rendering of this tune I have ever heard.

I just feel every note in my soul when he plays .No one can describe heaven but this is as close as a human can feel it.
What superb musicality and phrasing! Indeed, a master musician is Marcin Dylla.
it would be nice to see some of credit given to Johann Kaspar Mertz, seen that he beautifully arranged this piece for the guitar!
And to Franz Liszt... Mertz used the echo effect and the chordal riffs at 3:33 from the Liszt transcription.
I was wondering who was responsible for that arrangement. Thank you Sir!

The tonal characteristics of the instrument (and execution) perfectly match the music/period in this beautiful performance.
+Eriksariejd It's also worth listening to him play the 1919 Ramirez - if anything a more alive, interesting instrument.
Schubert conceived many of the accompaniments for his lieder on the guitar of his time, that's why.
