Felt paper is trash and hasn't been used on a French roof (where this style of tile and steel roofing is done) for over 30 years. The water tight membranes we lay over the rafters have enough elasticity to forgive a lightly misplaced foot but anything more requires a repair patch and a round of drinks for the crew.
