you've got just about every VCO I do, plus about twice as many more. That's a lot ;) But just wanted to say: 1. I agree about the Ensemble. Probably one of the reasons I have as few oscillators as i do - I can get so much out of it. It's also inexpensive compared to a lot of others. 2. I like the Black Wavetable maybe a little more than you, but in essence I agree. I kind of want to say it DOES have an FM input - one of the modes uses the CV in as FM in, but it really doesn't work like I expect FM inputs to work so I'm not really sure what that's about. Also when I bought it there was a second voice chip available but it became discontinued shortly thereafter and I never got one. You've kind of got me wanting a Pizza now.
Thanks for the comments, and good to meet another EnsOsc fan! Since that episode, I've replaced the Black Wavetable with a Modbap Osiris and I'm never looking back! It does sooo much more in the same footprint.
@@allhandsmusic I tend to keep the black wavetable set to one of the couple of formant type voices, because I like that sound. At some point I'll be swapping it out for something. Haven't thought much about the Osirirs. There are a lot of things out there :)
So glad you got something from this! Let me know if you have any questions about specific modules that I might be able to answer. And thanks for the sub!
Thanks so much for this. That feature is not in my manual at all! It seems there are three selectable levels, and mine was set to the middle one. Now I've got it on the highest, and it does help! 🤘
@@allhandsmusic It was not in my manual either. I think I stumbled across that in a forum somewhere. Also I hadn't thought to run fracture through rings.... oh my!
I sold my ensemble because I bought spherical wavetable navigator. Now I really miss it. Not that the swn one of the greatest modules I ever owned, just because they’re different. To me the star of the show should be the telharmonic which I swapped 2 years ago for couple of module. After whipping my ass off I got one back couple of days ago. I really really missed it, but if I didn’t swap the telharmonic for those modules, yet I didn’t have the unbeatable delta cep a from radical technologies which I swapped for the modules I swapped the telharmonic for. either delta cep a nor telharmonic will ever leave my system again. Did you ever tried telharmonic is shift register modes through rings?
I feel lucky I managed to pick up Telharmonic for a reasonable price used. Nothing else quite sounds like it! Still, I'm sometimes frustrated by it, but that's modular for you. Through Rings is interesting.
Thanks for this Jamie😊. I had Generate 3 for a whole but really couldn't get on with it. Pizza and Enosc are definitely keepers, tho Enosc tends to be a bit noisy at times..
Hey Probbie! What's the EnsOsc noise issue for you? Do you mean the unit has a noise problem, or it's too easy to dial in harsh tones? I think it's possible to maybe get some clipping at some extreme settings, but I haven't really had a bad experience with it at all.
Nice overview, I wrote down a few modules to investigate further. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!

Very informative, going to follow up research on a couple of those.

WMD fracture …I think the volume of the Tick can be increased by holding down the button for a few seconds

@@allhandsmusic I get white noise type hiss.. 🥴
@@Probbie Yuck! Have you contacted 4ms?
@@allhandsmusic No... I had kind of assumed that's what they did. I'll do a very controlled setup and contact them with the results. Thank you! 👍
Part 3: Filters or modulation sources :)
Thanks for the vote and the sub! ✌️
