I'd love to see more of them and learn more about them, one of the coolest old races of ASOIAF's world. Had to rewind that shit to make sure I wasn't losing it.
You can see how the green men look in the new "how house of the dragons prosthetics are made" video, early on you see a clay version with horns, and at the end they put on green makeup on a guy.
I’m a little disappointed they stuck with the blue old guy depiction of white walkers. Not at all how they are described in the book, the white shadow creatures of mist and ice is so much cooler than just old guy who is cold.
At least they don't talk about the Night King and always mentioned the threat as darkness and cold/winter. As for the visuals, yes, they are largely tied to the previous series.

After all they say he was killed long ago. The only hang up is the horns missing but that could be explained at some later point. But even the name Coldhands is interesting because Daemon seems to be smack dab in the middle of Blackwood and Bracken politics. CLIFFNOTES: Blackwoods=Greenhands. If Daemon was retrieved from the Godseye and hooked up to a tree and gets to watch Westeros move along and is itching to reach SOMEONE to get Aegon's message out about winter is coming,then maybe Howland was close enough in proximity to reach out to and send to Harrenhal to weave the connections necessary( Starks,Rhaegar) to get them moving toward the north to Bloodraven so maybe after Howland's 3 years training on the Isle,Daemon could finally die. Howland sends his children To go to Bran,then we hear no more about him. He sends his children to do this,no mention of his wife Jyanna,like this is his mission and his children are his sacrifice. His son Jojen has green dreams,but what if Howland was a greenseer all along,but did not want his children or others knowing( because it could be dangerous for others to know). Maybe that's where Howland is, at the Godseye,with the Green men. With his powers,maybe he's useful messing up the waters to keep travelers away...maybe some of his kin live on the isle.

I’m thinking the Green Men are kind of parallels of Satyrs, at least visually. It looked like he had hairy, legs and hoofed feet. His movement was also super indicative of a more “hoppy” deer-like form of locomotion.
If we're looking at our own mythology for clues about what the writers may be drawing from with this figure, the Celtic Cernunos, the Roman Janus, or the Germano-Roman Dis who are both antlered/horned deities associated with nature (chthonic), the underworld (psychopompic), horned serpents (dragons???), and time or the passage of cycles of time. All of these beings are associated with beginnings, the fecundity, what lies hidden beneath the earth, gateways, and their role of assisting us all in the final passage we must take to the underworld. Considering that the place where Daemon saw the green man was the same spot he was told he was going to die and the framing of the shot of the green man was looking through a frame-within-a-frame made by the old stone and the tree, Daemon may be suffering an "ego death" in that moment with his understanding of the world and his place in it torn down with him becoming something new after receiving prophetic sight.

I can't shake the thought of my head that the figure daemon saw was already a part of his vision that happens seconds later. Maybe it wasn't a green man, but daemon foreseeing the banish of house targaryen(the baratheon house). I got this thought because when the figure kind of growled and then i heard the sound of hooves 'clip-clopping', it didn't seem so human-like to me, but rather a distorted and beastly version of what would be targaryen's demise, so i assumed maybe it was already a part of his vision. Am i being to crazy here?
I think it's super important to answering these questions to know: who on the production side of things actually writes the subtitles? Is it the script writers? Is the director or showrunner involved? Or is it a totally separate person / team? If it's a separate person, how much inside knowledge would they actually have or be given?
Hopefully we get more of that lore! Chances are we will. It seems that the Alys Rivers is feeding Daimon weirwood paste and blood, to prepare him for the vision of Ice & Fire, because as we recall, from what he told Raenyra, he was a non-believer, and presumed the prophesy was a lie perpetuated for self-importance, and to maintain power and control. It looks like Viserys never told Daimon the prophesy. So, now Daemon resolved to support his Queen, after seeing the vision and the prophesy and the "prince that was promised." Still, even this fan theory is a departure from the book series, since the witch's character hooks up with Aimond. I'll hope for the best and prepare for the worst 😂

Rhegar and Leanna were married by the high septon, who first had to annul rhegar's prior marriage. The high septon did not travel to the isle of faces to do that.
Daemon's body is never to be found after the battle above the god's eye. I think he is saved by the Green Men and lives the rest of his days there on the isle. Maybe if that happen is when we get to see them appearing finally even if it's just an scene. Also. Maybe Alys IS a child of the forest and her child by Aemond is her giving birth to a Green Man since even if they're long lived I doubt they're inmortal so new Green Men must been born.

It seems that the Alys Rivers is feeding Daimon weirwood paste and blood, to prepare him for the vision of Ice & Fire, because as we recall, from what he told Raenyra, he was a non-believer, and presumed the prophesy was a lie perpetuated for self-importance, and to maintain power and control. It looks like Viserys never told Daimon the prophesy.
So, now Daemon resolved to support his Queen, after seeing the vision and the prophesy and the "prince that was promised."
Still, even this fan theory is a departure from the book series, since the witch's character hooks up with Aimond.

Rhegar and Leanna were married by the high septon, who first had to annul rhegar's prior marriage. The high septon did not travel to the isle of faces to do that.
Daemon's body is never to be found after the battle above the god's eye. I think he is saved by the Green Men and lives the rest of his days there on the isle. Maybe if that happen is when we get to see them appearing finally even if it's just an scene.
Also. Maybe Alys IS a child of the forest and her child by Aemond is her giving birth to a Green Man since even if they're long lived I doubt they're inmortal so new Green Men must been born.
