Hey I have an xp 650 engine that has a major internal oil leak by chance would you know if there is seal on the crank shaft that keeps oil in the main rotary gear area?
Yes and I am rebuilding 2 motors right this second for the same fault. A 657 and a 720, swallowing oil, hydrolocking motor. The crankshaft is junk, inner seals are gone, meaning a rebuild on the crank which is several hundreds of dollars. Find a good used one on ebay, thats what i did last week
hi, I have seadoo rotax 717, I try to bypass the oil injection pump and will leave one oil tube to the lower Rotary gears. I would like to leave the oil in the oil tank, just wonder what type and is it ok to suck all the old oil out from rotary gears unit? FYI: this seadoo hasn't start since 8 to 9 years ago. please help.
I had a 1995 Sea Doo XP that the previous owner switched to premix and he left the tube that provides oil to the rotary valves and told me to check the tube every so often and add oil to the tube when needed. Obviously I added oil to the gas in the gas tank as well.
Use good 2 stroke oil in the rotary gear case, keep the tank filled, so the gravity will keep the rotary gear full.. If it is eating the oil, then your inner seals are going bad.. eventually they will fail.
@@sebastianbluecrew4320 I have a 587 and it failed today with me in the middle of the lake. Long Day! When I turn the engine over it grinds bad and will not start. I believe the rotary gear has failed. What do you think? The engine has ~150 psi compression on both cylinders so that seem fine. Is it usually the brass gear that fails?
Just learning about these motors. Are the crankshaft bearings sealed or do they get oil from the oil tank bottom line?
Mine is making that clicking noise too. Bad Rotary valve shaft is the diagnosis. Its easier to just do the engine swap from SBT. They have warranty.
Hi, you have any idea how to change all the crankshaft bearings,?how to dissemble it? thanks
Hay I'm Mike in British Colombia Canada I could use the carb you were going to put online
Hey. I have a question how similar are these motors to the skidoo motors?

I'm rebuilding a 1994 sp580. Where did you find the caged bearings at?
WSM makes them..
How much did u gain back selling extra parts out?
like $150 so far
