Making The Babysitter’s Club in Lego 🤔 Custom minidoll repaint

- Surely I'm not the only one who's noticed the similarities? Having grown up with The Babysitter's Club being THE books to be read of course I'm nostalgically addicted to the Netflix reboot. They've done such a great job of making it current (while still retaining the nostalgia for us OG-ers) and full of great messages and most of all, girl power. And the five girls now eerily resemble the Lego Friends girls. So that made me think - would it be a challenge to convert the existing Lego Friends into The Babysitter's Club girls, or would it be too easy? Well, watch and see..... [spoiler - it was really not as easy as I thought...] This is a DIY doll repaint craft activity.

I tend to geek out about new pieces, interesting building techniques, giggle too much and just generally ramble. I'm easily distracted so I get stuff wrong which I fix up, mostly, but in the end there is always an awesome model ready for play and display. It's really useful and easier when lego friends has released some hairpieces and they are perfect for custom minidolls 🥰

Hey for the 80s phone, you don't have to have the light up see through one, you could paint the red phone pink then add neon paint to it, like pink, yellow green in triangles, circles, and zigzag designs. Now that would be totally 80s.❤

Ellie, omg????? This is amazing! Right in the childhood (yep, I was that 9 year old being told off for reading BSC by torchlight in the car). The HAIR! Kristy's visor!!! And Mary Anne and Claudia's hairpieces are so good, your attention to detail is incredible! And I love how you go 'what I need doesn't exist, I'm making it'!
I attempted this with a (Netflix) Claudia room build (poorly - Kristy was a bit Emily-Jones-ish, and Stacey had an I Dream of Jeanie's high ponytail) and ended up using Mulan's hair and Aira's top (and I think Aladdin's white baggy pants!) for Claudia, which was *okay* but not *right*. Dawn I ended up using Princess Jasmine face, Moana hair, but I didn't set the Friends challenge (we have some but not enough!).
Content wise there's definitely what seems to be a...formula, to the - I don't want to say trope, but can't think of another word. But it's made with best intentions - a story about a group of different girls creating and running a business in the 80's (while still dealing with life the way that kids do)? Little me was definitely inspired. I volunteer at my son's school library and it's incredible to see the next age group come up and all want to talk about BSC (yes the graphic novels - they're more closely translated to the books, from the bits I've seen). I'm so glad it's lasted (and been so beautifully translated in the Netflix series, and now so beautifully translated into Lego 😄 it really looks fantastic).
In the hair you did for Stacy, it actually fits because in the latest graphic novel, Stacy has short fluffy blonde hair
