You are playing the thing you're playing with so yes you'd need to record the arp onto one channel and then start a new channel with a new instance in order to play another sound.
In the preview to this you questioned whether the keyboard displays would detract from the using the Surface Pro and visa versa. From what I see here it seems pretty clear that they work wonderfully together. For the first time I'm starting to see some of the creative possibilities of touch combined with real knobs to twiddle. Jeez this touch stuff could be amazing if the developers put their heads together!
Cool! This video is 6 years old so I was using whatever was current at that time. I learned the s49 for the review and don’t have the room to leave it up permanently so it’s not something I’ve used since. I tend to use NI software individually rather than within the Kontrol software. However I really liked the way it worked and would be totally into it if my setup stayed the same for any period of time. Hope that helps
Thanks for posting, Looks fun and a good UI for VSTs. Hope this isn't a stupid question. Just wondering if there's an easy way to record "motion" into the arp or into a sequence in a similar (or equally easy) way to how you can record and keep tweaking motion into Korg's 'logue models and volcas, as a sequence or arp repeats. That's one killer feature that makes them fun notwithstanding their other limitations
Can you please do a performance? Can this be used in live performances, or would it be only for studio? Most of examples sounded like I was trying to create sound in DOS, with C++ and SoundBlaster card, back in 1996. KInda wondering, as a beginner, if the library is really worth the money.
No - it's a function of the software - but you can load any VST plugin into Komplete Kontrol or route the MIDI out of a Komplete Kontrol track to another regular track.
Thousands of sounds and a few ate usable. Most of these are bad. But that's my opinion. You may love it. Seems like things are getting complicated for nothing
Actually I'd agree with you - until I got this keyboard and now I'm finding this is making things much simpler and it's opening me up to far more sounds that i didn't appreciate before. So things are getting simpler, rather than complicated,
No, I was using sounds from Komplete and Ableton, some third party plugins and Maschine. You get a bunch of sounds with it - see the NI website for details.
Your knob twiddling technique has evolved...lol. Must be all those hours on the Eurorack! What stand are you using to hold the Surface Pro? Looking forward to the proper review. Thanks for publishing this - bold move.
Ok phew! The video got slapped with a copyright claim on the bleedin' Maschine demo song I was using - and that can send the audio out of whack - but it seems ok :)
Can you "store" for example the arturia prophet v in the keyboard and play the prophet v without a tablet or computer? If not its just an expensive midi controller
Which sounds? It’s a keyboard controller, it can just play whatever hardware or software sounds you like. It comes with a selection, the website will tell you what, or you can use any NI instrument or any third party synth. So.... not sure what you mean mate.
Which sound? There's 45 minutes of video covering a vast array of different sounds and possibilities so was there something specific that didn't appeal to your creative soul or was it just the nature of sound itself?
This is exactly what I wanted, thank you.
Can you run the arpeggiator while playing other sounds? or do you need Ableton for that?
You are playing the thing you're playing with so yes you'd need to record the arp onto one channel and then start a new channel with a new instance in order to play another sound.
@@MoltenMusicTech Thank you, but you will need to use arp plugin from Ableton then to morph the arp on the fly and not the NI one?
Not necessarily. You use the arp on whatever it is you’re playing. I think you’re overthinking it 😀
@@MoltenMusicTech haha you are right, you will see in my video's everything is over thinked :P

Was looking forward to this! Thanks man :)
This isn't the full review - that's to come! :D
Even better. 10:25 - dig it :)
Hi, Ive got Komplete Komtrol S49 running through Logic. They can see each other, but there isn't an y sounds coming out.HELP !!
Do you get sound out of logic normally? Without the keyboard?
Hi, I just bought a KK 61 mK2. Can you tell me please, which v. of the software you're using, and are you still happy with the NI ecosphere?
Thanks.

Thank you for your time! That trick of saving a non-nks patch to get the presets doesn't seem to work, now. At least, with IK's BX3@@MoltenMusicTech
Why no sliders is just stupid.

I would say that’s a sequencer feature rather than an app feature and you’d need to do that in your daw as far as I know

I thought this was pretty much a performance. If you’re happy to take your laptop to a gig then yes.
@@MoltenMusicTech Thank you. Sorry for not registering it as a performance, I am new at this, did not mean to be disrespectful. All the best to you.
Oh goodness no I didn’t take it like that 😁
Can you still use the scale and chord function without using komolete kontrol software in DAW?

Are those stems from a track you're playing at 26:40? If so what is the name of the track? And what genre would you call it? Thanks :)
It's just the Live 9 demo song - i'm too old to understand genres these days :)
Hi. Is this from the software that comes with it when you purchase it?

Thanks for replying :-)

It's called a JamStand.
Molten Music Technology cool, thanks.
What kind of stand is that and what kind of tablet is that?
It’s a Surface Pro on a JamStand
BTW I assume the sound was out of sync with the video, and not a latency issue?
Where in particular? I'm not aware of a problem with sync.
Molten Music Technology I must've had too many G&T's last night. It was towards the end of the video but it's not out of sync his morning! 🤦♂️👍

No, it works as a hardware/software combination
@@MoltenMusicTech can u do that if the pc is open?
What kind of computer is that-
I like the way you just see the screen-
It’s a Microsoft surface
are the sounds authentic? i heard the sounds were generic and/or unrealistic. i wanna buy but i'm unsure.

is the software compatable with mac?
Yes
@@MoltenMusicTech thanks!
These companies act like drug dealers, give you just enough to get you hooked, then come with a little more. Mk3 anyone.
Это iPad у вас?
It's a Microsoft Surface Pro
what computer are you using?
Surface Pro i5
Mens who using NI KOMPLETE KONTROL like talking a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot, why ?
Are you kidding? I'm the best thing to listen to on the internet.
All that wasted space on both sides.
I hate the sound. Annoying.
