Maybe god does forgive all those souls who were actually wonderful human beings, their only sin is to not believe and god understands "how can you believe on something you cant see"..it wont be fair for real good people to suffer in hell with souls who were actually evil in life. My favorite motif from this theme is the "Can You Read My Mind" part, and as beautiful and as 1970s easy-listening that melody is, it's still, here in the main title, underscored by that exciting driving march rhythm: this isn't just going to be a date with Lois Lane, it's gonna be a FLYING date with Lois Lane. I was nine when this premiered, and I can tell you the opening credits had us pushed back in our seats before the story even started. I wonder what the younger generation thinks of this movie: it has a lot of heart, humor, great storytelling, and still packs a thrilling punch, for my money.

Life is so unfair, such a beautiful person, athletic, educated, in his prime and at the worst moment of his life he rose above the circumstances to help others, such class. Christopher Reeve will always be Superman.

I was a 12 year old boy when Superman The Movie was released. I will never forget the moment when the opening credits ran and all of us in the theatre who had spent years listening to Superman on the radio and TV, hearing John Williams take both of those themes that we loved and paying them homage in this superb piece, spontaneously burst into applause. It was without question the most touching moment I have ever experienced watching a movie and still brings me to tears 43 years later.

I remember as a kid, hearing this theme and we were so imaginative as kids back then....I swear i almost felt as if I were to look up, I'd see Superman flying over us....

The idea that he took the basic motifs from the earlier Superman themes (Max Fleisher cartoons, TV show) and wove them into the main theme for this piece is both utterly brilliant and respectful to the people who wrote those earlier themes, as well as drawing in fans of those earlier shows. Bravo, Mr. Williams.

God bless John Williams. The king of composition. My hero since I was 7 years old. SUPERMAN, along with great films like STAR WARS, E.T. and JAWS would not be the classics they are without his brilliant music style. I love him.

This is most assuredly the best version of the Superman movie march theme...even better than other performances by John Williams himself of this piece. Bravo to the members of the orchestra too! The entire performance won't let you catch your breath. It moves with urgency, power, and fulfillment.

John's best work! This theme is so magical, so divine, it's hard to believe this sound is coming from just earthly instruments. The applause at the end doesn't seem suitable, the audience should be too blown away to clap and should sit in stunned awe at what just happened!

It doesn't get any better than this!!! Ever! IMHO, this is the best piece of music ever written!!!!! I heard it for the first time in the early 80's when the movie showed on TV and I still get goosebumps whenever I hear it. John Williams is amazing and this is the best music he has written. Heck, it's the best music anybody's written. I like Zimmer's scores, like The Rock and Driving miss Daisy, but you can't compare Zimmer to this masterpiece. He's not on the same planet. Like night and day.
