When replacing the blade put the long part of the allen wrench through a hole in the blade and then slip the end of the allen wrench into one of the screw hole and slide the blade on ,this will line up the holes so you can finger start the other two screws before removing the allen wrench. This will align the screw holde and prevent the dropping of the blade.
Over all good video. But 1. Take the dumb plastic glove off, I get the cut resistant glove but the plastic one just makes working harder. 2. Lay the machine on its side when reinstalling the blade so gravity works with you.
You should remove and turn the sharpening stone assembly 180 degrees and reinstall so that they are safely positioned behind the blade when you are not using them to sharpen the blade. Helps keep them from getting clogged with bits of food as well.
Just used my Beswood 240 for the first time this past weekend. Was fantastic!!!! While cutting meat for jerky, quiet motor, slices like buttah!! But when you clean it, make sure you have some no cut gloves, cuz that circular blade is sharp and a bit heavy and will easily cut you. After cleaning, I lined up the screw holes on the blade using the provided hex-wrench (blade was a little awkward to reinstall. Once blade was rough installed, I stuck the wrench in a screw hole to GENTLY shift the blade to match the holes to make the screws fit. Careful not to push too hard, you don't want to bend the hex-wrench. Cleaning is little tricky, but the slicer as a whole is excellent.
This is the exact reason I am looking for a meat slicer to do hot pot at home not many people know what it is I’m glad I found your video and help me decide on a slicer
I got the Cuisinart and used it until a sacrificial gear stripped in it. I bought this slicer to upgrade and it will be here in a couple days. As I'd only had the Cuisinart a couple months they are sending me a replacement as well, so I'll have a nice premium slicer and a cheapy for light duty.
Mounting that blade does look hazardous like you mentioned. How about some kind of neodymium magnet handle to position it with one hand while putting first screw in with the other? Just a thought.
Thanks for video. I was sold than you showed the clean up process. Damn not willing to do that. Need to find an easy to clean slicer. Thank you for showing the cleaning process.
@@TheChanClanLife While I have to agree the three screws are a chore, some others are using Phillips screws which if they get siezed or semi siezed will strip or round out. I think the Allens are a MUCH better screw in this application. Lesser of two evils, if-you-will. LOL!
Regarding replacing the blade: I believe sticking a Phillips screwdriver in the hole so the blade cannot fall would make installing the blade easier and safer… Note: We just bought this model and will be cleaning it later… I’ll follow up with my screwdriver idea..
Originally was going for the cuisinart, then saw videos like yours and saw how much that one STRUGGLED! Beswood came in today and very excited to make some jerky lol.
I just purchased this unit, but with the carbon steel blade so I'm guessing it's a slightly cheaper unit. I've read the reviews regarding the finish on the unit and would like to know how yours is standing up or your opinion. I noticed the blade slipped when you were adjusting it to line up, a small piece of soft 3/4 pine board below would work as a precaution and would prevent any ding to blade or base. Thanks for the video, it appears I may have made a good choice, you always second guess yourself.
Before I bought my Beswood Meat Slicer that looks like yours, I had one of those cheapy saw blade meat slicers. I was so disgusted with the thing that I donated mine to Goodwill. We get what we pay for. But I didn't even want the Beswood 10" but I got tired of those people working in the meat departments in our stores whining about cross contamination when they were too damn lazy to clean the equipment though I was willing to pay them for any extra work that was involved. I also ended up buying a frozen meat and bone cutter so I can reduce the size of my pork belly since they don't want to do it. But buying both of these will be so helpful and I won't have to deal with a bunch of crybabies in the meat department.
What are your thoughts on the noise level? From your vid it sounds remarkably quiet compared to vids on other slicers I've seen. Would you say the sound is accurate here? If so I may be sold on this slicer.
Get rid of the loose fitting plastic glove ! Maybe hold the cutting from the center hole. There are two safety problems in this slicer , 1 The cutting blade does not lock for removal . 2 The blade should have a threaded screw stick insert into the first screw that is removed about 6 inches long to clean or change the blad.
Not sure why you wouldn't lay the slicer on its back to easily set the blade in and align. (P.S. they're not bolts, they're screws. Bolts have nuts.). Please ALWAYS get filming help from the start....the one-handed portion of the video was annoying. Also...if this is a demo of the slicer, why leave out sharpening process, or at least short demo?
What's the deal with the stupid plastic gloves? First off, you are at home and not serving the public. If you are worried about getting raw food on your hands, buy some Nitrile gloves that actually fit your hands. They are inexpensive and you will have a much better experience.
First off why are you handling the blade with one hand?? And 2nd why do you have a plastic glove over your safety glove?, I understand cleanliness but your sacrificing safety. Put down that camera or get someone to hold it for you. Omg you gave me anxiety 🤣

Good lord I was more nervous than you thinking you would drop that blade lol, good review thanks

I have some old hard drives that I was planning to harvest the magnets from that might work!

Yeah I wish there was a blade and cover quick release, the Allen wrench is really a chore

That was a great review. Thanks.
Decent slicer! I was lucky and found a Hobart built in 1957.
Have you ever tried slicing a hot to warm brisket flat?
This looks like a clone of a Berkel slicer which is made by Hobart. That’s a good price for the quality

Holding up well, just a pain to disassemble to clean, but cuts really nicely
How does it work with hard and soft cheese, I'm looking at at a 12" german food slicer, but its 900$, 1/2 hp motor, what is motor HP on that unit.
I'm curious about that too but still no answer. :-(
It's 240 watts. I'm looking at the Weston Pro 320, which is 320 watts.

are you able to lock the slider when storing, how does that work?
NO
Rock slicer on back to remove and reinstall blade

Basically silent until you shave the meat, minimal noise. It does have a big footprint though
Mine is noisy.
it's very quiet for a slicer

Hi. The slicer looks exactlly the same as the KLARSTEIN CARPACCIO slicer. I was just wondering can you get slices thinner than 0mm on yours? Thanks
this machine doesn't make too much noise when slicing? i watched other youtubers' videos, slicer from other brands are very noisy
Just use mine for the first time this weekend. Motor is quiet!!! Slicing sound slightly louder than the motor. Was excellent!
切白蘿蔔絲可以切極細絲切片機好用也可切冷凍煙熏鮭魚片火腿片皆可
谢谢你的提示
تمام جيد جدا❤
would be a lot easier if you took the carriage off an even the sharpener assembly. You wouldn't have to work the blade around things.
It's mostly aluminum.. except for the blade
Remember, it's stainLESS, not stainPROOF.. wash and dry your knives by hand people

Lmao!! I said the same!! 🤣🤣

Don’t set the sharp side of the blade in that hard counter top🤨
You're dulling the blade each time you bang it against something
Dude, if you're a germ freak, at least do yourself a favor and get some nitrile gloves.
