Back in Auckland now so no part 2 😭 We did another Marikina vid a long time ago when we were still camera shy 😅 If you go to our Philippines 2019 playlist it'll be there!
Really appreciate this channel, the kiwi flavour rocking philipino flavours, the sense of adventure. This one interested me so much we went to the Takapuna Philippines food festival but we weren't able to stand in the crazy queues and I lurv me some charcoal. Keep it up guys that m you
I could die in that hot humid weather, brave of you resisted. I don't know nothing about Philippine cuisine as in Italy is not common at all as far as I know, but fish or mussel apart that I do not eat, it look delicious
I am from Taytay Rizal right at the boundary line of Cainta that borders Marikina. As far as my experience goes, Marikina has good cooks. The food is very good, it has my taste buds compared to Cainta, Taytay and Antipolo. But Marikina does not have a signature dish. I used to play basketball and use to run on the Marikina Stadium. Afterwards eat in the public market or any surrounding food stalls.
We do have dishes such as Everlasting, Waknatoy, and Rellenong Bangus that are quite distinct to Marikina! Unfortunately just didn't feature them this time 😅 Miss Marikina already and can't wait to explore more one day!
@@locavore_eats I left the country 20+ years ago. The LRT from Marikina to Manila was not built yet. Rellenong Bangus I've eaten in Marikina was very good. But the Visayas has that way way back. Including Rellenong Pusit, Rellenong Alimasag. Everlasting and Waknatoy, I'm not familiar. Maybe its a new dish or a familiar dish just named differently. Don't get me wrong, the food I ate in Marikina was very good.
The average Or majority of Filipino can only afford 1 dish and one tiny cup of rice. Eating too many dishes at once make less authentic, if the items dont complement each other. Some can order a lechon and just get half the serving size of the veggie dish.
I love you guys, I watched all your videos and love your dynamic. Please dont stop, you guys rocks!!!
Thank you so much!!!
You guys made me miss Marikina so much!!! I think this is my most favourite vlog you have ❤❤❤
Thank you!!! We miss Marikina everyday too and agree, this one of our favourite vlogs we've done! Can't beat that nostalgia 😭

Thank you so much!!! We waited 2hrs for some cold BBQ 😭 Couldn't believe the lines as we've never even lined up for an hour before!
I miss that palengke. I used to go swimming at the Rodriguez Sports Center, lol!
I wish we had more time to eat at all the stalls! Haha yes, we still remember also going swimming there and walking around the track as kids 😄

You just get used to being permanently damp all the time 😅 Hope you get to try some Filipino food one day!
I could feel the heat from your video 😂
I can still feel the residual heat despite it already being Autumn in Auckland where we live 😅
