Keerigan using a spreadsheet to track his practice is the most engineer-ish thing I have heard in ages 😁

As someone who came of age in the disco era, it's so nice to see young people engaged in more traditional dance partnering. This makes me feel like such an old fogey, but it's true!

Keerigan you are even more nerdy than I imagined! 🤓 I love it so much! 😍Spreadsheet!!! Your videos have inspired me to go back to WCS lessons after 20+ years!

I liked the emphasis of this class on learning to practice. I felt like it was a great set of common sense things to be taught, to remind us what practicing is really best for, and how to approach it in the West Coast Swing context. A great lesson to have early on in my dance, I feel like it will help me be much more effective and efficient with my practice time moving forward. I may or may not also start working on a spreadsheet as well.

This is perfect. I just met with a friend for our first practice session yesterday-- having some structure around it all feels great. Appreciate the content, and the timing 👌

Just watched again one of your videos for inspiration and was wondering when are you posting again :D
Can you also make a video about how to evaluate your dancing in the context of making a spreadsheet like you said you have?

I really like this approach. However, I need help coming up with a list. I never know WHAT to practice, and if what I am practicing I'm doing correctly (I don't want to be reinforcing bad habits thinking that I'm doing it correctly)

What to practice comes from a couple things:
      1. Actually practicing the things we learn in workshops/group classes. So many people (including myself) will record that recap video and then never look at it/practice it again.
      2. Private lessons-having a professional diagnose the issues you’re facing in your dance and give you new techniques and concepts to develop. Always ask your teacher HOW to practice these things as well-get solo and partnered drills from them that you can use.
I like what Jesse Lopez and Ariel Peck say: Imperfect practice makes progress. There’s no way to do something perfectly when you practice every time, but practicing in general will develop those skills (which can be tweaked through private lessons, workshops, and personal feedback from practice partners) and body awareness.
