Well you really lit up on this version - and why not? This is Cold Chisel reformed after, I think, a long break and Jimmy has reformed his abusive drinking habits and they’ll all getting along great and Dave Blight, who was only there for the big shows, played a blinder on the harmonica. If this concert is an option to showcase Cold Chisel at their best then why choose another?
Absolutely owned the stage and yes, nearly every other reaction has just been blown away by the harmonica, especially when they don’t realise it’s harmonica until half way through the song. Everyone on that stage brought it for this one.
This is my absolute favorite Cold Chisel song and there’s nothing better than this live performance. And that’s saying something cos I love all their other work too! This song gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.
There's nothing quite like Chisel live 🔥🔥🔥 Ian Moss is such a brilliant guitarist that he doesn't often take on lead vocals as well. But with his stunning, soulful voice, his songs are some of Chisel's best (When the War is Over, Georgia, My Baby & more) ❤ His solo work absolutely worth a listen as well.
one of the all time greatest performances from one of the all time greatest bands that not many outside of Australia know but thanks to reactors like Nic more n more people are finding out how good they are
I agree. Phil absolutely laid it down. I keep coming back to this, slap on the headphones and groove away to the bass. Mind blowingly good. Of course, it's all great. Everyone excels. Phil excels more. :)
It's all been said before about Jimmy, Mossy and the band but seriously, how good is the dude on the harmonica as well!? The whole ringside concert is a true testament to how good Chisel was!
possibly the greatest live performance I have ever seen was by Chisel - goose bumps every time I hear this version..... my youth right there....just outstanding
Jimmy once said that when Cold Chisel were on form they were the greatest rock and roll band in the world. This performance conclusively proves him right.
Can't believe you haven't come across this earlier, one of the best things ever. Dave Blight still doing pub shows around the Hills with Mick Kidd and with Lazy Eye were the first SA artists to go to Memphis for the blues challenge and both turned some heads. tick tick tick tick all bases covered here
I love the fact that you get this. Cold Chisel is underrated by most outside of Australia. Bow River is my fav Chisel song for so many reasons. I appreciate you appreciating them. One love.
Absolutely brilliant! I was one of a group of maybe 180 people who saw Mossy perform this (and other Chisel and his own songs) on Kandooma Island in the Maldives in September 2022. Five nights of pure magic and the best music ever from Mossy, Jimmy Barnes and his family and band. And then I saw them again on Daydream Island in August. Got a couple of photos with Mossy (and Jimmy) and told Mossy that I used a line from Bow River in my retirement letter nearly 4 years ago. He asked me which line I'd used and I said "the money I save won't buy my youth again'. Funny thing is that I retired a month before my birthday so that I could fly from NZ to Adelaide to see Chisel performing at Glenelg. I also saw them at Tauranga a few weeks later (on the day after my 65th birthday). Front row, centre stage for both shows, too.
I love your reactions when Jimmy sings, lol. Imagine what it was like for us Aussies having this band in the 70’s and 80’s and now you have been following them for a couple of years. Fantastic ❤️
Bless you! DUDE I can't believe you hadn't reacted to the best performance by any band ever. Seriously I thought this was one of your earliest Cold Chisel reaction vids. I can't tell you how many times I've watched this very clip...
Yessssss! I have absolutely loved watching your reactions to Jimmy, Ian Moss, the Chisel crew and John Farnham over the past year. We Aussies love how much you appreciate the incredible talent in this country. BUT I swear the first ever reaction I watched was you reacting to an older version of Bow River cos I remember it blowing your mind but I could never find the video again 🥺🥺 Can you pleeeeaseee repost it so we can see it again? It was reaction GOLD!
Just announced Cold Chisel getting back together again this October and November celebrating 50 years ! If you can I’m sure it would be worth the trip to Oz! Cheers Trev
I just watched Mossy live at a little country town a couple of weeks ago. Just him and an acoustic spinning a yarn or two and singing some tunes. Still great!
Love your reactions, from Australia, I've been watching all your reviews, and love em, love your Elvis, Jimmy Barnes and Cold Chisel ( JIMMY AND IAN MOSS & others.) Here's a few Jimmy Barnes songs that will blow you off your chair, I'M A FOOL IN LOVE, RECONSIDER ME, KEEP A KNOCKIN, SHAKE RATTLE AND ROLL, THAT'S HOW IT IS WHEN YOUR IN LOVE, STAY safe, AUSTRALIA, 🇦🇺🇺🇲👌👍💯❤️
love your reactions bro. your love for Jimmy is damn near as much as mine. saw the dude live in Perth recently. he maybe aging but boy he still got it.
They just don't make them like they used too😢. Chisel forever.... their songs will go down in history as one of the best pub rock bands in Australia 😊 you could not and never would have pigeon holed them, they are unique!!!! Love Chisel!❤❤
Thanks for that, should of been a hit everywhere. Shame theres never been a reaction to their song Misfits, my favourite Chisel song when they were oh so young.
Somebody threw a bottle of alcohol at Jimmy during a performance. He caught it one handed, took a long swig and threw it back into the crowd. How no one got hurt Ill never know, it was one of those magical moments.
Chisel live...are ASTONISHING. Mossy is an Australian legend in his own right.. You know they were basically teenagers when they wrote a lot of these tracks. The lyrical maturity is mindblowing on all the early records. Lisyen to Tucjers Daughter as well...Ian Moss .. it's beyond gorgeous. ❤
Cold Chisel = FIRE….. an Ian Moss classic from The Circus Animals Album …. This song never gets old….. and another example of Ian and Jim’s vocal duetting.
All rise for another Australian pub rock anthem🎙. I have sung professionally and I used to give this a workout at the Karaoke let me tell you. Maybe I was crap, but i was in my element and a rockstar for a few minutes
Most of the live Cold Chisel videos are pure gold, even the pub gigs recorded with a hand held camera. If you havent already seen it, i recommend One Long Day or the other video that starts with another song then glides into One Long Day to finnish.
Every one of your Aussies knew exactly what was coming. For you, better late than never! It's not just Ian and Jimmy's vocals, it's the entire band. Not a better performance of anything, on the planet.
Big shout out to Dave Blight on harmonica. Absolutely owned that stage❤
100% MATE!!

100% Facts, i Killed it
Omg how how how have we missed showing you one of the greatest performances of all time.?!?With Jimmy and chisel! How?!? 😮😮😮
I'm pretty sure he already reacted this this.
@@jeremykothe2847not on RUclips and certainly not ringside version
I did request this to him about 12 months ago
Is this not the 'perfect storm', every musician on this stage is flexing to the max, and yet no one overriding anyone else. Absolute perfection.
Excactly what I thought, all left space for each other. Maturity.
Well said!
nailed it. This song missed its place as one of the greatest Australian compositions ever recorded.
This is perfection. All and all I have to say that the bass playing on this is other wordly. Sublime playing.
the harmonica action in this song is world class..
This is my absolute favorite Cold Chisel song and there’s nothing better than this live performance. And that’s saying something cos I love all their other work too! This song gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.
This is the best-known song Ian Moss wrote with Cold Chisel, and my god it rocks hard when they play it live. One of Australia's best ever bands 🤩
Gotta be one of the greatest live performances by any band at any venue ever
I love Jimmy, too. But this is Mossy's song. His voice and guitar playing are sensational!!!
Ian Moss = the best voice in Aussie rock.
Check out When the War is Over. He owns it.
The whole Ringside concert is in my top 3 favourite concerts. I can watch it over and over & never get bored. Bow River is my favourite song too
one of the all time greatest performances from one of the all time greatest bands that not many outside of Australia know
but thanks to reactors like Nic more n more people are finding out how good they are
"I'm gonna pick up a fast car and burn my name on the road." One of the best lines ever.
Thanks for doing my request matey, glad you enjoyed it. Definitely the superior version!
My favourite Chisel song ever. Thanks for requesting it.
Fire fire fire fire!! The BEST live version of this song, hands down
This version COOKS!
The bass playing is next level genius. As a bass player myself I am in awe.
I agree. Phil absolutely laid it down. I keep coming back to this, slap on the headphones and groove away to the bass. Mind blowingly good. Of course, it's all great. Everyone excels. Phil excels more. :)

This is always considered Mossy's song with Jimmy backing him up. 😉
My favourite band EVER to see live!
Good old classic Aussie Rock!!!
ship yeah !!!
Jimmy once said that when Cold Chisel were on form they were the greatest rock and roll band in the world.
This performance conclusively proves him right.
Agree 100%
20 years past their 'prime' even...
Can't believe you haven't come across this earlier, one of the best things ever.
Dave Blight still doing pub shows around the Hills with Mick Kidd and with Lazy Eye were the first SA artists to go to Memphis for the blues challenge and both turned some heads.
tick tick tick tick all bases covered here
The best version of probably one of the greatest songs ever written/ performed. This is just different level.
I love the fact that you get this. Cold Chisel is underrated by most outside of Australia. Bow River is my fav Chisel song for so many reasons. I appreciate you appreciating them. One love.
What a privilege we all had watching you react to that. I can’t believe we haven’t seen you react to this before!
I paid for it and it was worth every cent :) Just love seeing Nick react to peak Chisel!!!
Cold Chisel is reuniting for their 50th anniversary and touring all across Australia can't wait ... Perth October 2024❤️❤️❤️
I wanna be there too.. I miss Mossie playing.. he plays up in the Blue Mountains.. oops it's meant to be a secret!!!
@@Waitomo64how do we find out where/when? We're going to Leura for a few days tomorrow
@@accountsa1540 Go to the pub in Katoomba as ask there. You could also ask in Medlow Bath and Blackheath. The people running the pubs will know

Bless you! DUDE I can't believe you hadn't reacted to the best performance by any band ever. Seriously I thought this was one of your earliest Cold Chisel reaction vids. I can't tell you how many times I've watched this very clip...
Chisel would not be Chisel without Mossy , him and Jimmy complement each other ...Aussie Aussie Aussie !!
The ultimate best CC live song ever! Next to 'My turn to cry" it's the best Chisel ever!
The vocals are great but the star of this song is the harmonica played masterfully by David Blight.
Loving your PASS SCORE on the Aussie Learning Curve. 🇦🇺
Always in the mood for Chisel anytime anywhere!🤣😍

You know they were basically teenagers when they wrote a lot of these tracks. The lyrical maturity is mindblowing on all the early records.
Lisyen to Tucjers Daughter as well...Ian Moss .. it's beyond gorgeous. ❤
Barnes was always the lead vocalist for Chisel, but this was Mossies song. The version from "Last Stand" will always be my go to.
Mossy is a legend!! Definitely Mossy’s song, this one!!
Totally agree!!
Thanks for putting this up bro!👍👊😎👌🎉
Yeah, these men can mix it with anyone on the planet for live pure sound.
You had a lot of fun in that last half minute and I enjoyed watching it. Salute.
Can't believe there was not a single mention of the Elite genius level Harp playing in this !!? What he played is extremely hard to do!
Cold chisel is the bomb. Flame trees is one of my favourite songs

Ahh the Outback Truckers theme song!!
Not sure if you have checked out Ian Moss's solo stuff. He has a brilliant voice too, saw him live when he released his first album.
