Great low-$$ job Doc! Can't wait to see and hear Big Di.......er....Richard running and rolling!
Cut the about 3/4 way through. Move the saw down a little bit cut another slot. Keep making slots, until you can get the bent you need and weld the slots up. Like a bendy straw. I did that on my one truck. Seemed to work ok
Good video Art! Cant wait to see this on the road!
The grinder knows all the welders' dirty secrets.
Great job so far, Doc! I know it's not cheap, I know it's not timely, I know it's not your truck and I know it's actually a '68 (not a surprise if the title says 1967), but y'know what I'd be interested in is an electronic engine management conversion. Fuel injection and ignition mostly. I have electronic ignition on mine and keeping the carb functional is a pain. Been kicking around the idea of trying to find an early injection system and "grafting" it to my 383. Feasibility, cost, ignorance and fear have stifled the thought for years.
Many 'tubers talk about "cheap" upgrades or additions or repairs and sometimes "cheap" turns into thousands of dollars. I guess I have a different idea of cheap.
Maybe I have chosen the wrong hobby or maybe I'm too cheap.
Thoughts?
Exhaust tips from a friend next door . 😊 Thanks Doc !
Thank youDr Art for keeping it real😊
Dirty exhaust deeds, done dirt cheap! Have not welded in a while, my pacemaker doctor is like nooooooo! Thinking about getting into Oxy-Acetylene?
Dr art very cool I understand it takes all day to do that maybe two days work a little go back to it later besides it's 88 degrees probably coming out mint
nice job!
Great video Dr. Art, thanks for showing us how to get those angles. I never realized how easy it can be to get the right angles with a chop saw.
Nice shortys. Some would leave the plastic tyres, if you only drive for 2 minutes, including warm up.
Only an absolute barbarian fails to replace their zip ties with baling wire.
Great work . Its amazing what you can do with what you have to work with budget builds are the best . Keep up the great work
I appreciate you sharing your knowledge. Very helpful.
Yes sir. Now im inspired to make my own side pipes. Salvage some plumbing from a diesel truck junkyard for the flashy parts. And wed them to headers. Lol yeah
Cheers from another master grinder.
Glad to see you used cast iron manifolds instead of headers. I used stock exhaust manifolds on my 383ci small block powered S-10. Most headers won't fit on a small block Chevy on a first gen S-10, some can be made to fit with cutting, welding, and hammering. Stock manifolds work fine for a street car/truck, fit properly, don't leak, last forever, and you only lose a small amount of power.
👍
I'm team manifolds too, but consider the goals for the truck. The 318 could very well be temporary and eventually be replaced by a completely different engine, so sinking tons of money into headers and fancy bends doesn't make sense for a dirt cheap cruiser. That's on top of the benefits of manifolds.
Nice to see a homemade exhaust without flex pipe.
You are a very good friend to Kiwi.................Jay
Very nice fabrication work 👍
Nice. Your video quality seems to improve with each post.
Put a balance tube in it. Or do you like the school bus type of sound?
😊
Wow kiwi is really going with this abused and reused theme ,hope he doesnt critique your welds like some of those cars he fixes lol nice video
I like that
I know you’ve got an extra turbo around there somewhere 🙌🏼
Maybe if I buy it from Kiwi then it definitely will have a turbo quickly
My middle name is Richard. Thanks Mom and Dad.
Looks good 👍
Is it going to be ready for power tour?
Nice job looks easy hey brother hood do you know or really familiar with the 58 mopars im looking for some info about dashboard speedo and cluster
Get a hold of Kiwi he knows about those older ones
Is this 2 1/4 pipe all the way to the muffler or 2 1/2?
what is the purpose of the h pipe addition?
Balance, the exhaust tone and pressure between the two banks
Flux core ....lol
Seems a lot of you RUclipsrs make your exhaust flow outside the pipe instead of into the pipe. ----->
Dirty deeds done dirt cheap. An exhaust anyone can do with a cheap welder and a cutoff saw.
👌🏼⛽️
P.s. Have you been working out ? 😉
When you work on the ground without a hoist it's the best workout..
Can't wait to hear it running.great job
For this type of build your doing nothing wrong
Do you think kiwi and tony both will be at powertour with you
Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
Rain gutters and drain pipes would really be low buck Dr. Art! Just remember to get it back up before the next rain storm!😆
