B2Bs are the most fun I've had for a while! Something special about pushing each other through the set not trying to battle but to get people absolutely grooving!
My friends all DJ and we always go B2B. If there’s multiple DJs we do the 2 track method. If it’s me and 1 other DJ we rotate every 2-3 songs unless 1 of us has the party dancing then that DJ will take over for 3-5 songs. It’s definitely a lot of fun!
Love the humor you always provide us with, i always catch myself not just learning a lot from your videos but also laughing alongside your jokes! cheers!
b2bs in the DnB Scene of mine are a great way to practice your "real dj skills" so how great are you at finding the right tune to either double drop with or hold the energy of the other djs tune. Thats because you mostly go either tune for tune or 2-3 Songs per person. Also b2bs are pretty spontaneous most of the time which leads to you not having any time to prepare with the other dj which leads to pretty damn interesting sets (most of the time).
I really love B2B sets! I think it’s cool to see two DJs working together and it’s even cooler when those two are a double act. For example I’m into dnb, so sets like Pola & Bryson, camp £ krooked and sub focus & Wilkinson are some of my favourites. It’s great for making friends, or if u have friends who are also DJs a B2B is always great.
We call it VS or Tag Team around here in new england. Normally it would be two djs together like cosmic gate or blank & jones. But even some older sets you can find you will see something like Talla 2XLC VS DJ Taucher. Sharing time slot with 2 diff genre DJs is not easy unless the 2 genres complement each other. Great video as always andrew! 👍👍 P.S. Your student DJ Stella Rowland has a couple of impressive sets uploaded on her channel.
B2Bs are weird though like yeah that is the hardest thing to do is stand beside another DJ while they mix especially when the set is not rehearsed but when it is, look out👌👌
Hey there! Awesome video as always, it really helps me develop my DJ’ing. Soon I will be playing at a live gig for the first time in 2 years due to COVID! Super excited, but also nervous of course. I tend to get scared about accidentally touching the play button or the jog wheel (because it is dark or someone touches me) and stopping the song / screwing up the mix. Is there a way to prevent this? Like some sort of security button which locks up those buttons or something? Or what are ways you prevent this from happening?
Hey Andrew any chance of a video on how to set up live-streaming? I just can’t wrap my head around it I’d love to jump on a 24hr CRDJ stream at some point
I would let each dj take all there time to be there best finding the energy and flow of a mix, for me fatigue can kick in and someone to take over and do there set until I feel ready to take back control and feel fresh to take on the next part of the event
Hey, for me personnally i have a hard time getting in the zone while playing b2b. When playing 2 tracks each you always start and stop, making it hard to find the flow i find..
Nah, they are all simply trying to find the 'next Masters at Work' :P Lol! Love the positivity but a lot of club owners/promoters in my experience can be pretty greedy/sketchy and don't deserve sucking up to like that (but maybe that's just UK/Ibiza)...

B2B duos seem like a cool thing if you know them or have good energy with each other
