You should make a legit materials list, the amount of foam, Velcro strips, what type and how much of glue, paint, etc, We can figure out the tools to cut and stuff but we need a shopping list!! :D

@@seanrogers3663 I think would be enough to extend a little bit (1.5 -2.5 cm) the calf, thigh, forearm, biceps armors. Then try it, and you can still cut it if it's too long.
So far I have made the both shoulder bells and both fore arms (except for square ladder shaped details in thinner foam) and made one bicep and made the left Thigh and I’m planning on using a black series helmet with this , oh and also I’m using the gray floor mats as I couldn’t find the white ones
@@gaminboy You're doing good, nice to hear back from somebody, who's actually using my templates! For the forearms, biceps, abs, calfs I found that 6mm(quarter) inch foam works better, you can order it from Amazon.

Thanks, you're right the foam built has some advantages: lightweight, somewhat flexible, silent, you can customize it to your own size and cheaper ! It's hard to tell how much would it cost to built, you only pay for the materials like foam, glue, paint, velcro. The paint and the plasti dip (under the paint) are the most expensive, you can get it all out of $ 120 -150. The helmet is a Black Series one. Have fun!

I used Rust Oleum glossy spray paint, without clear coat, don't forget to use PlastiDip first on the foam. Dipends on your skill, working 2-3 hours a day on it roughly a month. Sure I encourage you to make it, but you may have to downsize it, i'm 181 cm and 83 kg. In some cases a powerful hair dryer might do the job but for example on the shoulder piece would not be enough, I recommend getting on, it's not that expensive.

Hi, thanks for watching my videos, I never tried to resize my templates, you can try to print them out in reduced size like 90-95 %, or adjust with the original size templates by cutting a little bit off, but be aware the paper template must be bigger because the foam has a different thickness!
After cutting out the two half pieces use heat gun and something round and solid to lay them on and push against( I used the back of my metal kichen chair back) to give them the desidered shape, you mast be pretty aggressive, not an easy task

Hi, just download the templates, cut out of foam, and glue the pieces together! Some cut is diagonal to help to create the shape and You might need heat gun to form the foam.
An excellent video, but I’m having trouble understanding something: the 2 prices in the center of the chest that covers the hole, are they just 2 straight pieces or are they cut in such a way their curves are flush with the chest?
left hander Hm... well, I’m sitting here with my chest piece. I filled in the whole and all I need are the sides, but uh... should the bust of the chest come out so much?
The thigh armor has strips on the front ad the rear , the biceps has 3, on the front and the sides, the forearm on the sides and the ladder like on the front.
I’ve made 2 attempts on a chest piece now and am still having a lot of problems. The in-wards curves that go around the torso don’t turn out right and the chest overall just doesn’t look correct. Any tips I can use to improve my craft? I gotta have this suit done soon...

The front and back, both.You should have two foam pieces cut out, the left and right ( or inner and outer) these are glued toghether at the front and the back, which lines will be covered by the stripes.
First use heat gun to close the cells of the foam, than apply 3-4 layer white Plasti Dip, than 2 layer white primer (Rust-Oleum), than 3 layer Gloss White Rust-Oleum. This gives you a shiny surface so I didn't put clear coat on it but you can, if you want!
I'm not sure what you mean...There are two kind of yellow staff I used: 1. the glue (contact cement) 2. the masking tape to hold the templates together...

Using EVA Foam is superior in my opinion, its not as loud as plastic when having the armor on, when it collides while moving around in it.
Yes, it has it's advantages like you said it's silent, very lightweight, more confortable to wear, doesn't break and cheaper!

I used 10.mm mostly, exept the bicepcs, forearms, calfs are 6 mm thick.and the abs and lower pack plate are 8 mm

the V shape gap is the force the foam into a curved shape, just simple glue the edged together. The hex goes on the top of the left calf.

For anyone attempting had to cut to get shape and used foam clay to mould around joins, templates are very good so didn’t need to mess with them atall

How did you get the Velcro to stay to the foam? The last time I used self adhesive Velcro on foam it was ruined. And what did you use for the straps?
I used contact cement (4:39) (even can be applied on the self adhesive Velcro), the straps are elastic bands.

Yes, in the middle they are 2 straight square like pieces of foam cut to fill the hole. at 3.32 you can see it better.

The place in which the thigh pieces connect- is it in the front or the back?
The front and back, both.You should have two foam pieces cut out, the left and right ( or inner and outer) these are glued toghether at the front and the back, which lines will be covered by the stripes.

What did you use for paint? What was the process
First use heat gun to close the cells of the foam, than apply 3-4 layer white Plasti Dip, than 2 layer white primer (Rust-Oleum), than 3 layer Gloss White Rust-Oleum. This gives you a shiny surface so I didn't put clear coat on it but you can, if you want!

I'm not sure what you mean...There are two kind of yellow staff I used: 1. the glue (contact cement) 2. the masking tape to hold the templates together...
@@lefthander3807 that's what probably what it was , anyway I'm.making a stormtrooper armour with ABS boards and doing the shapes out on paper and then draw round them

Hello my name is kevin and I've made out of eva foam luke skywalker in storm trooper costume when Princess says to mark Hamilton bit short for a stormtrooper.
If they all made out of rva foam are they screen accurate
decide it for yourself, it looks good for me, and I don't want 501 approval if that's you mean

I noticed there was a noticeable triangular cut on the arm piece when it was laid out flat. What is that for exactly?
The cut is to make the foam follow your arm shape. You have to glue the edges together.
