Excellent and concise deck tech. I love werewolves but I love even more how to the point you are in this. It can be overwhelming to see a 30+ minute video about a deck, great job
I found a super easy way to run werewolves! It actually uses the DFC cards and the werewolves on the “sideboard”. The sideboard allows for see through sleeves while the DFC’s do heavy lifting in the deck.
Werewolves were my very first deck in Magic. When tovolar got released i was so happy to finally bring them to edh. I made i similar list to yours, but have added the extra combat pack. The flavor and fun on buffing wolves and attacking again is so cool
It was a very fun list to play! Werewolves are just really cool and are very aggressive in edh. I think it makes them really engaging to play with lots of versatility in the dual sided cards.
I put Abundance in my deck to keep me from decking out since I can just put every single draw trigger into looking for a nonland card. Another strategy that I liked was Impact Tremors with how much card draw is being generated and how cheap the enchantment is and with all the easy token generation especially with Hollowhenge Overlord it seemed an easy card to slot in. Especially paired with all the card draw and slotting in Growing Rites of Itlimoc it feels nice going as wide as possible. Aggravated Assault + Druids' Repository is a fun combo to dig through the deck for to close out games especially if you're going wide. I prefer Garruck's Uprising to Guardian Project because with all the relatively easy ways to pump the critters and giving us more benefit with token generation the added benefit being a smaller mana curve and an extra source of trample just feels smoother.
I really like your deck list. It looks really nice and aggressive and fun to play. It definitely had cards that I even forgot that existed and thought wow I should definitely that that out in my own deck. Tovolar is definitely by far my favorite commanders out there.
@@MadHatterYT By any chance do you have any videos on general commander deck building strategies and how to effectively play certain win conditions (in my case werewolves)? I love the content keep up the awesome work!
@@spectatorion5775 Not yet, but its something that I hope to bring to the channel next year. I generally try to briefly talk about ways to win with the specific decks in the video. There's a lot of edge cases in magic so its hard to elaborate without drawing out the runtime lol. With werewolves they're a pretty aggressive tribe. They're generally not very large so you should try to get as much damage through as fast as possible. There's a lot of ways to do this, but I found Tovolar's draw effect always kept the engine going. I just jammed out what I could and turned them sideways at who I could. 😂 Worked for me overall.
@@MadHatterYT thank you for the thoughtful and informative answer! I'm pretty excited to play test my creation! I don't think I'll win much with my budget but I just wanna have fun with my woofers!
Could you build a commander deck that’s built around winning the game with “Door To Nothingness”. Would have things like artifact tutors, graveyard recursion, mana dorks, ramp spells, combat damage draw triggers and small evasive creatures
I'm not sure tbh. The nature of the mechanic means they'd be flipping all the time. Probably like proxy face cards and keep the real ones in clear sleeves off to the side? It doesn't really sound ideal, but that way you could just put of the real ones on cast and flip them all you want.
If you just double sleeve, all you have to do is take the card out of the sleeve once (when it comes into play). After that, flipping is quick and easy and they can be placed on top of their outer sleeves so they still have protection from the table surface. Then, if they get put into the graveyard, library, or are stolen, simply put them back into their outer sleeve and carry on as normal.
It's always a good green card to include. Tovolar drew me so many cards I didn't really feel like I was hurting for card advantage. It let me cut usual card draw cards like that. Thanks for watching!
Ayyyy nice vid. Been looking for a new commander. Might have to get 2 of each werewolf for I can just have the transformed ones on the side. Also….. feel free to make a dope King Ghidora deck or a Godzilla king of the monsters deck 🥰🥰🥰 good video
Thank you! Yea I always had my decklist open when I played this deck. It really helped xD. Thanks for the suggestions! One of my favorite commanders is Brokkos so it could be fun to go back and build around some more Ikora commanders. That set was dope imo.
Probably not. If you get ahead you'd have to focus him down. You could save up your mana to give things trample with Tovolar or have out trample enablers. Edgar is a pretty effective commander who will likely have blockers for your werewolves.
@@MadHatterYT Thanks for the reply, Really enjoyed the video it helped alot for refining my werewolf deck. I fought Edgar last night and got overrun very quick, but im also new.
I run extra combats. Klauth and gnawbone radha
I run all the creature tudors. Toski and ohran frost fang for draw on combat.

Love your videos man! Super digestible and easy to follow along/understand the “why” behind your card choices for players who might not understand
Thank you and I'm glad you enjoy the content!
What cards do you think also synergize with Tovolar? Do you have any suggestions for commanders to build around in the future? Let me know!

Great content and timestamps, subbed
What's your suggestions to avoid unsleeving a lot? I was thinking a lot of proxies but that would be annoying going through also

I made a werewolf deck with damage multiplication and making tovolar have unblockable and infect
Is there a way to make a werewolf deck aggressive enough to fight Edgar Markov and his token loop?
Probably not. If you get ahead you'd have to focus him down. You could save up your mana to give things trample with Tovolar or have out trample enablers. Edgar is a pretty effective commander who will likely have blockers for your werewolves.

@@MadMazov No Problem! That's kind of Edgar's jam. He just prints tokens for the most part.
