    I know you might not see this, but this is a really indepth review for the people who haven't visited shoei factory. This is spot on. With their Shoei fitting system the people can also custom fit it exactly to your head and fix perfectly no pressure whatsoever. Going to japan and seeing it and why it's so pricey. Nice video man!

    Thank you for this video, Van, and thank you for my new X-15. It just arrived today and, even though you guys always have fast shipping, this was fast AF. What an incredible helmet! I bought an RF-1400 from you over a year ago and love it, but the locking mechanisms of the shield really drew me to the new X-15. I pulled a dark smoke off the RF-1400 and put it on the X-15 and without your video, I wouldn't have been able to do it. Wifey watched the part of the video where you put the shield back on and said to me - verbatim - "just push it in hard like he did and don't be such a pu$$y with it." hahaha. So, that worked. Greatly appreciate all you, Max, and your team do for the biker community. Thanks again! ✌🤘

    the aero and quietness of a Shoei helmet is why I don't wear Arai anymore, the Shoei's are just quieter and much smoother in the air. Saw this during my recent trip to Japan. It's crazy how cheap Arai and Shoei are in Japan, as they are local. Probably run you around $500ish USD for a replica graphic. (70,000-80,000y)
    Always been an Arai guy, but gave the X-14 a try for the past few seasons. It's nice, but for me, Arai feels more comfortable. Shoei probably looks cooler. Have a new Arai Corsair X on order and will be wearing both helmets for the next few seasons.

      Agree with you 100%, have the Quantic, Contour-X in the states and tested it against the NXR-2, RF-1400, so both manufacturers top "sport-touring" helmets and I must say that from the feel, exterior, interior and visor mechanism the Arai just feels 1 step above Shoei, the best real world comparison I could give is that Shoe is something like a R1 Yamaha, tried and tested sure thing, you know excactly what you get, while Arai is something like the new Panigales, where you get the best of the best and you dont give a fuck about the premium.

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  Год назад +1

      Both Arai and Shoei are excellent helmets. The fit of the X-15 and Corsair-X are different from one another for sure. Some riders prefer the easy on/off of the Arai while others prefer the more captured feeling you get from the Shoei. - Van

    • @garylai363
      @garylai363 Год назад

      @@iNFiN3 I think Shoei is still premium, but Arai does feel like a small step above. They're priced about the same so it's apples and oranges.

    • @garylai363
      @garylai363 Год назад

      @@sportbiketrackgear For sure. Luckily I fit both helmets well, except I had to get thinner cheek pads on the Shoei to fit my fat face. The Shoei feels really secure, but I find stuff like having the dense foam right next to the temples and not much room for my ears makes the Shoei less comfortable. Arai's interior feels more plush inside.

    • @garylai363

      Also, the Shoei fitment centers they have in Japan are baller. They meticulously measure your head dimensions and customize the interior padding for you.

    Been a shoei fan from day one of riding, thei helmets just fit my head the best and I've been super happy with their quality and design. I think all the new tech and adjustability is awesome and all worth the price. My local dealer got the x15 in stock and I was able to try it on and see it first hand and it definitely fits and feels amazing. But I will say, the fact the front vent piece is black plastic and not color matched to any of the color schemes I've seen make the helmet look cheap. I just expect better for that price. I'm sad that in all my years of wearing shoei I finally have something to be annoyed about. I guess we will see if I spend the extra money on one or just stay with the 14.

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  Год назад +1

      For the front chin vent they are using black, white and blue sliders on a black base depending on the color/graphic. To be fair they used a similar strategy with many of the X-14 colors/graphics. This is something that is likely to change a bit as more graphics are developed. The X-14 is a great helmet and the 15 is a little bit better. Shoei does an excellent job at moving quality helmets forward IMO. - Van

      If you are between two sizes I prefer to try on the smaller one first to see how I feel about the fit. If you need to return it for a larger size we make that pretty easy. - Van

    Shoei needs to do a better design with their shield mounting mechanism. I shouldn’t have to feel like I’m forcing the shield off, nearly breaking it when I want to remove it.

    I have an Aria Corsair-X and really liked the increase in visibility of the Shoei X-15, so I bought it. I have speakers in both helmets, and am extremely disappointed in the amount of wind noise I get from the X-15. Upon closer examination, I noticed a big gap between the front top of the cheek pad and the headliner that goes directly into the ear area. The fact that I removed the pad that sits in the pocket probably exasperates the problem. Does anyone know a remedy to reduce or block the wind from directly going into my ears? I have a RF-1400 that has no wind noise by comparison and the only difference I can see is the lack of the 3/4" gap between the top of the cheek pads and the top liner.
