    Thanks Dr Bob, you've made me realise that it's not about golf psychology, it's about life psychology, and being kind to yourself...it's a bigger picture than golf. You explain that golf is a mere conduit to self realisation, and once you achieve that, good golf will follow...be in the moment, be at one with yourself, and let the glory unfold, naturally.
    Priceless.
    Thank you.

    Comment just for algo. Challenge for more people to do the same. This needs to be presented to more golfers.

    Hey, thanks there Dr Bob. I have had a bad season , now I know why. I recognise myself in what you are saying. I am playing for the seniors team against Blankney on Wednesday. I will enjoy it

    Interesting comment about staying in the present. I have always associated forgetting about your last shot with staying in the present so to that end I've done well. However, Dr. Rotella closes the loop for me when he describes thinking about a hole as a birdie hole as another way we don't stay in the present. It's only ever about the next shot. Brilliant!

    6:21
    16:36
    19:25 Process goals to get through tough times and build skills etc..( need to have a TARGET To aim for with each process/shot though, the process is to give you your best chance at getting your goal BY Doing the process, and set up and have a routine etc )
    26:26 .. don't worry, just decide on your target and just DO the process to get there, even if it takes a few steps (par and hole by hole.. fnaar)

    29:30 it makes me angry when you say anger is a choice! :) the amygdala being responsive is involuntary.. it's what we choose to do about our fight or flight response.. that is the choice
    Great to hear your thoughts though, you really help a lot.. got a few of your books.. thanks for letting us listen to these

    • @wa7019
      @wa7019 6 месяцев назад

      I understand what you mean...but I think that golf provides lots of answers. What I mean by that is you can have that emotion, but you have to drop it by the next shot. Tiger Woods talked about this....anger is just a minds response. I can now usually not get mad just by simply thinking about what I did wrong and trying harder the next time not to do "that".

    • @CastleHassall
      @CastleHassall 5 месяцев назад

      @@wa7019 yeah thanks for your thoughts on it.. that's what i meant when i was saying it's what we choose to do about it after the anger hits is key.. but that the initial anger is just a natural brain process that is involuntary, it's instinctive in some situations (brain scans show it's an instinctive response in the amygdala that is PRE choice, in fight or flight responses etc)
      was also a bit of a joke, about him saying anger is a choice makes me angry :)
      i hope you have a good one
