I've been having this issue since about 6 months. Never worked. and I never really tried to go on the internet for a fix. Told a friend about the issue and for the first time searched a video. 30 seconds into the video downloaded the file, and tried to run it and it actually worked somehow.
Maybe it was because I did the 1st method listed 2-3 days ago without thinking, and it worked by fluke. but I'm not sure if this was the first time me trying that method, but I digress, it works. so you have my thanks.

this vid is a life save because i had this glitch that started happening for no reason wherever i hover my mouse i can see a square of every part of discord so i had to hover my mouse everywhere to see but it ended up glitching and then i tried uninstalling and downloading it again and the instal failed poped up and i remembered this and did everything.

i deleted discord bc my plugins and themes tabs were gone so i thought reinstalling it would fix it but error popped up, hopefully this works.
edit: it didnt work, both methods method 1: didnt even work a bit. method 2: at the very end when i was opening discord, it said a fatal javascript error occurred
edit 2: nvm it worked but it opens as a white file looking thing but it works, thank you, you are a legend
