- This was a really tough but fun hunt to attempt! I've never gotten a Beldum swarm in the older games so I've never had the chance to hunt it this way. Definitely planning on coming back to this at full odds! Thanks for watching and good luck on your hunts!

I managed to get an Shiny Beldum from the Grand Underground by accident when I was just leveling up my team. I caught in a Premier Ball after +20 Poké Balls.
Same... only I was looking for an adamant beldum, ended up finding the shiny after about 3 encounters, and used up 13 ultraballs trying to catch it

I forgot how frustrating Beldum was for pokeradar. Well, time to start planning a Beldum hunt in platinum.
Good luck! I’d love to go back to Plat and attempt this hunt again. Have to imagine it’s really difficult since the patches don’t keep shaking and it’s harder to see through the sandstorm

i saw this vid last night and decided to hunt for the beldum, got to chain of 4 and a normal grass patch gave me a fullodds shiny beldum, i was shocked and now relieved about not having to deal with this hunt
I've been looking forward to random encountering it's horde in platinum, but i caught one for the dex and it took me 20 minutes lmao I was like... is this really a good idea? Congrats, man!! It's a beautiful shiny

Yeah I had to do this chain 3 times. 1st chain ended on 40, 2nd on 33, and finally got it on my 3rd. Never doing that again. 😅
Jup, got me a week just to have this as swarm encounter, hunted it the whole day, had a 30 Chain, got the shiny patch, putting it to sleep many times, almost 100 Premier balls later and he struggeled, almost died i finaly got it. Pretty hard but worth it.
I just took on this hunt yesterday. After spending 20 turns trying to increase my chain by one I opted to just try and make a chain of knocked out beldums. I got to 10 and then luckily, after an hour of resetting, I found my shiny patch. Welcome to the team, Terminus.
How do you even get the swarm of beldum. I have done daily checks for two months and I’ve had way more duplicates of swarms like getting absol swarm 7 times and zigzagoon 5 times and other duplicate swarms. ITS PAIN I JUST WANT A BELDUM OUTBREAK
I've also been shiny hunting beldum via breeding in Sword and Shield. It's been an on and off hunting and still no luck, I think I filled about 6 boxes full of Beldum lol. Hopefully I'll get one soon I would love to transfer it to BDSP when home is ready. Best of luck to all shiny hunters out there

I’ve actually got 4 chain shiny Beldum in my second chain ever.
Yeah I had the fantastic idea of chaining this before the 17 method was known, took me over 8 hours to get a chain of 40, then ended up continuing the chain after finding my first shiny Beldum until I caught 7 shiny beldums in total...
Damn wish I had that kind of luck. Only shiny I’ve managed to get is shinx. Caught 6 before the chain ended. Every other chain breaks around 10.

Dang I've been shiny hunting for Mesprit for a month now. And I haven't got that dang thing yet.
I got mine on a chain of 8 with the swarm, the grass I got it in wasn’t sparkling which I believe makes it full odds. I caught it in my master ball because I was worried it had explosion.

I believe it has such a hard catch rate because originally it was obtained as a gift from Steven at the end of Ruby/Sapphire. Thus the catch rate didn’t matter so they may have just considered it a legendary since only 1 could be obtained… purely speculation though

I just threw the good ol trusty masterball. At least with these remakes they have done away witg beldum only having takedown as a move

The other day I got Beldum as swarm, and instantly started to chain it. The chain however, didn't go past 10... EVER for 12 hours! I then tried to random encounter for 1 hour untill I gave up and started to breed it. I am now at 231+ - human error hatched eggs, and all I've gotten is two 6 IV normal Beldums. Maybe I get one this year idk. I'm not giving up till Legends of Arceus releases. God damn Beldum

Shiny Beldum was the first shiny, and so far only, shiny I've seen... I accidently killed it... Gutted
As much as I watch these I don't understand the chain or whatever to catch shiny pokemon. The only 2 shiny I have was from just walking in the grass. 😂😅
I would recommend knocking them out much easier try knockouts for a chain of 15-17 then repeat with repels
lol it's funny, I'm chaining this thing now, and I'm doing the exact same thing as you. I tried(and failed) to keep the chain going by catching it, but I think this pokemon is the exception where it's better to faint it because of it's low catch rate, and I'm not trying to get to 40 anyway.

Several chain breaks, the highest I got was to 16...then it broke. But luckily, I got a shiny Beldum at 4, then nearly had a heart attack after it broke out of so many timer balls.
When u catch the Pokémon, the chain is 10% higher to continue
I didn’t know about their catch rate until I ran into one in the hideouts a few minutes ago and it took me longer than most legendaries smh

I've realized that shiny hunting is so difficult for me because its actual insanity. Hunting the same pokemon over and over expecting something to change
I just got the beldum Swarm and thought I should try it. But instead of catching the pokemons I killed them the spare the trouble. I guess little more than an hour later I got a shiny without nothing the sparkel cus of the sandstorm (and the chain was on 2 so I didnt really thought it would happen) caught it in a master ball tho
Should farm synchronize ability ralts in the underground or breed it. Get one of each nature cause it's 100 percent odds that it transfers it's nature to the wild Pokemon.
The odds of getting to 40 from 0 is slightly better than 1/20, so imo it's more worth breaking chains and resetting than just rerolling at 17. And if you reroll at 39, you can save time not having to get BP for bottle caps at the battle tower.
I would've gone to 39 but Beldum took forever to catch even while asleep and at 1 hp. Killing them wasn't super efficient either

I got my shiny larvitar on a 2 chain also! After stupidly losing my chain by getting on my bike kekw. 2chains for the win
beldum is the largest troll in all of pokemon, why does it have the same catch rate as box legendaries?! (3/255 why gamefreak why)

I'm actually surprised it's considered to be a hard pokemon to catch. Because it was my second shiny EVER, but the odds may have been lowered because it was caught over on Pokemon Go!
its one of the hardest pokemon to catch in the main series not because of the odds but because of its catch rate, pokemon go its a different game in every aspect
hunting wingull before Beldum isn't a bad idea since it can have drizzle to cancel sandstorm

I saw your video yesterday and got Beldum as a swarm Pokémon just today, I'm considering getting the shiny Beldum via the Masuda method once I get a foreign Ditto with perfect IVs.

Exactly what i did, i got super lucky and got the shiny beldum on the 9th egg
use a pokemon with synchronize to get the natures you want!
Get heal pulse and heal it when it gets low by struggling or recoil
Thought about this during the hunt, will definitely consider for the future

I found a shiny beldum in s/m. I was only using pokeballs and premiere balls.
I cried, knowing it was a losing battle.

I was under the impression Sunkern is the hardest hunt in DPPt via radar, due to it spawning only in the area directly above Ravaged Path as a radar exclusive, because the grass patches suck. But in BDSP it should be MUCH easier due to the lack of edge tiles instantly obliterating your chain ninety percent of the time...

Should have used synchronize. Got my Beldum yesterday at a chain of 17.This hunt must have been so hard in the og games because even now you have to walk carefully because of the raging sandstorm.

I've been shiny hunting shaymin for a while now I'm very unlucky it's been a few thousand run aways and I'm so mad I still haven't found got the encounter

Happened to me with elekrike on the first chain(if u can even call it a chain lol) funny bc electrike and manectric are some of my top 5 mons and it was my first ever “hunt”

Well you could try to get to 17 by defeating it instead of catching but then it’s only a 83% chance for the chain to continue but in the long run that might still be quicker 🤔
That's what I was doing at first, knocked out 15 and caught the final two
but isnt catching the pokemon higher chances of continuing your chain?

I got one thanks to poke Casanova has a good video about it. He just said to KO the Beldum. I did it and got one in 9.
my pokeradar luck is not existent. my chains die around 6 just about everytime. I think out of a hundred tries last week I had 2 chains go higher than 6. I literally can't even get to 17 to try the new strat
I've actually completed this hunt in the grand underground, and it took 2 weeks. If you hunt it, I suggest you hunt in grand underground. I didn't use the Diglett method to boost odds because you would get 1-2 Beldum's per Diglett bonus and it is just more time consuming and not worth the time. THIS TOOK 2 WEEKS AND THIS GUY GETS ONE IN 2 MINUTES!

Are you talking about the overworld models? All swarm Pokémon show up in the overworld when you’re on their route. And thank you!

@@SammLawlor If you walk 50 steps, then use the PokeRadar again, it will generate 4 new grass patches and you won't lose your chain! Just make sure not to leave the area of grass that you're chaining in :D

Few questions. You spent 4 hours knocking out the Pokemon instead of catching them? Isn't it higher chance to succeed chain if you catch instead of KO?
Yeah it is, but Beldum is such a hard pokemon to catch that it's faster taking the chance of knocking out the Pokemon because it's less time consuming.... (unless you use 39 cloned masterballs like me *cough*)

How do you do all of this I tried 40 times tryna catch a shiny and I failed every time but in let’s go pikachu I have a shiny charizard a shiny beedrill and a shiny butter free I wish I could get a shiny beldum
why would they keep beldum's catch rate the same as fucking literal god? That's what makes this shiny hunt really annoying.
Have you ever tried leading with a Pokémon that has synchronize to lock the nature?
I have a few sync mons but keep forgetting to use them, will definitely do it for some of the next hunts!

Yep! Just don’t close your game or leave the route and put your switch into sleep mode and the swarm won’t go away

Chains have a 7% chance to randomly break in these games, nothing you can do to stop it sadly. Keep going!

I got my geodude at a chain of 2 without even trying it was crazy. Anyone know why my chain was still going at 59 with no shiny? It never stopped I had to get out of the area because I was running out of pokeballs.
You are supposed to reset the radar at 40+.
you were supposed to keep resetting your pokeradar after chain 40
do not try to extend the chain as it doesn't increase the shiny odds after 40 and you're risking breaking it

Does anyone else encounter wild Pokémon while radar hunting on route 225 even with repels
Your first slot has to be a higher level than the highest possible encounter in a route for Repel to be effective. It only stops pokemon below your first pokemon's level from appearing. A swarm will also override Repels, since they appear on-field

If you don't turn off your switch or leave the area then your swarm won't change

How are you able to see Pokémon popping out of the grass all around you like that?
If you’re near grass on the route where a Pokémon is currently swarming, they’ll show up on the overworld

It’s a swarm Pokémon on route 228. The only other place you can find it is in the underground
