I was hoping the analysis would include a spring rate calculation. Am I missing it? Can I get a graph of Force as a function of displacement (instead of Time???)? While I'm at it - why Time? Isn't the time related to the arbitrary speed chosen when setting up the animation sequence? All that said, I really do like the functionality AND your video presentation was superb! Scrib'd.
@@jerrythecat6737 I'll have to go back 'n look. I do recall it was quite a lengthy process to run the analysis. Do you have a video you would like to recommend where you cover force X displacement graphing. Again, your vid was a great find.
Hello, can you tell me if springs with the same K and different diameters have different speeds? Example; a spring with a diameter of 50mm with a total length of 500mm, assuming that it would have a rate of 0.500 kgf/mm and another spring with the same K and the same length but with a diameter of 60mm would have different speeds. If you compress both and release, would the speed be the same or would one extend faster than the other? This is my question, if you can help I would appreciate it. Thanks.
Hello, I thought I finally found the solution with the video! Unfortunately this does not work under Solidworks 2020. Get an error message - initial contact not defined! huh? Tried a lot, but if I ignore the error messages, others will come. Incremental steps too big or too small, material not correctly defined, etc. All of this implausible, because it is correct. Pity!
hi i'm using 2014 version.can anyone help me how to make of the 'self-contact' feature in simulation which is present in 2015 version but not in 2014??? i don't know what to click for the set A and set B. hoping for a reply, thanks.
i'm trying to do it in a spring, btw..i don't know what to click for set 1 and set 2..2014 version doesn't have that self-contact feature in simulation.
Very cool. Thanks for the tutorial.
At 4:36 the VM legend on the right shows a yield strength of 4.65*e^8, but 1.4310 has a yield strength of 1.95*e^8. How come there's the discrepancy?

Hi did you get force vs displacement graph?

Can you plz show me that video ... I'm stuck in this project and cant find solution
@@jerrythecat6737 Ooops... confused, as I mistook you for the owner of the video. I'm as in the dark as you are.

Wow bro. This is awesome
Great man, congratulations and thanks by tutorial !

Yeah man, was having problems using Solidworks 2020 to carry out the same simulation
thanks . comprehensive
SolidWorks Version 2015 have the self-contact option.

In which solidworks version self contact option is available ?
Thanks!!!
Only 8h and 28m to get the raport :)
damn.. 1 hour for a simulation..
give me the file please
