Hey Gang!! Its been a minute since I've had a video get 15k likes.... Lets show that RUclips algorithm whats up and hit that like button!! Comment for the ALGO!
PS I HOPE you really like this one! I was so stoked after the taste test, because I can really see this changing the way I make a lot of fake meats!! MORE Like this coming soon!
This video was great but please keep the detailed information. It's always interesting to hear. You could put links to different parts of the video for impatient people but then maybe they don't have time to click anyway.
Not vegan myself but definitely can appreciate what he does. Very artistic with his he molds these items to resemble the original. Like that cake challenge but without the dread of wondering if you're surrounded by cake
@@SauceStache I have faced a lot of persecution in TX for becoming vegan, even though I lost 240lbs. One day, this give me hope a vegan restaurant I open won't be... boring. Thanks again!
Clicked as soon as I saw the thumbnail and title ! I’ve never tried pork belly (and pigs were the first animal that I stopped eating while I was transitioning to veganism) but I can imagine the different textures involved from what I remember bacon being like. Needless to say I was VERY intrigued to see how you recreated it from tofu! So cool! Thank you again for another awesome video 🙏
i can't imagine making these complicated things just for myself, but i'd sure love to buy sauce stache products like your tofu belly at my local store. :)
Yoooooo... I legit just made a vegan Hong Shao Ro with tofu as the pork belly like 2 days ago. We were blown away by how convincing it is. I reccomend everyone try the twice frozen tofu method rather than going through the hassle of blending it.
Freezing times are always dependent on how full it is, if you recently added other stuff that's still unfrozen, and position. If the result is so different from the expectation, these conditions might have something to do with it.
Thank you for the free recipes! I think it might be a decent idea, to have a series, making a variety of different deli meats, such as salami, turkey, ham, beef roast, Cajun chicken, etc. Using extra firm tofu, seitan, and other bean like foods as the foundation for each of them. I'm not experienced in the vegan deli meat department, and would think that would be a great addition to your channel, I would imagine, the shelf life would be great as well , properly frozen.
Really want to try this. It looks crumbly and not chewy though... Love this channel! I'm not vegan but I love these alternative ways of cooking and sourcing of ingredients (probably because I got a meat allergy from a tick bite).
Looks so good! I tried the starch version and it was by far the best results I got from an online fake meat recipe. Any ideas on what to use if you can't find methylcellulose?
The methylcellulose on your website is the little 2 ounce packet for $12. Where did you get that big container? And is it cheaper? I can definitely see this going really well in some Jajangmyeon noodles. Yummmmm.
Idk man you didn’t talk much about how your mother’s cousins neighbors coworker said that their kids friends teacher had pork belly once but their cousins caterpillar is vegan and they wanted the caterpillar to try it, you just kinda hopped into the recipe. Dope looking recipe though
Definitely looked like Neapolitan ice cream after coming out of the freezer, but the final product looks amazing! I'd cut it thin and make a vegan BLT with avocado and smoky, spicy mayo. I really want to try this now!
Definitely making this this week thanks! Is there a substitute for arrowroot starch and agave that would act in the same way? (generally speaking : having a table of possible substitutes would be a great addition!).
I'm not a vegan but that looked amazing, it seems that some vegan dishes take a lot of time to prepare. Enjoy watching, I think its very interesting to learn how vegan food is made/prepared but I would never stop eating meat.
Hey Mark! Love your videos! Have you tried Colombian Bandeja Paisa? You need kidney beans, white rice, plantain, pork belly and avocado. Try it! You'll love it. It's the quintessential Colombian Dish
Pork belly is totally not something I have ever been into - I actually hated all the fatty, gelly-like meats. Having said that. This is simply super impressive! The end result is so realistic while actually being much healthier than the real thing :D I am sure it would be a *bomb* ramen topping, would work nicely with some 5-spice and and if made into thinner layers, I think it would make a great addition to vegan carbonara! . Anyways, thanks for another creative plant base recipe! Have a fantastic rest of the week Mark!

Hi! First time commenter here! I'm loving your videos. I'm going to try the pork belly, but I didn't hear how long to steam the tofu. Thanks!
Sauce Stache is the real deal. Gordon Ramsey's got nothing on him.
"Neapolitan ice cream" 🤣

I think it would be great with noodles. Looks so flavoursome
Ahhh I LOVE pork belly!!! It's the one meat I miss the most. Can't wait to use this as Korean BBQ style pork belly 😋
Hi Mark, I found this video really interesting and it awakened the vegan chef mad scientist in me. Excellent!

I would have loved to see you slice it and fry it up like bacon.
I did... but not on video.. I wish I would have added it in because it came out so good!
@@SauceStache What!?!?!? You created a new bacon and didn't commit it to film? Sir, your standards have slipped!
Any subs for the two different binders?

Now you have to make Neapolitan ice cream. I hadn't seen the pork batter like that. Now I have an ice cream craving.
This is the content I'm here for!!!!
This man called babish out with the whiskey lol I love it
Is the recipe written somewhere, or do I just have to write it down as the video plays?
You make interesting versions of foods I have left behind. Might try this.
