I was impatient so I had an acoustic guitar shipped to me in June. In Phoenix. When it arrived it was hot to the touch. Luckily there’s no serious damage and it just needs to be adjusted a little bit. Yamahas are tanks

Or a guitar boat in the trailer with all the gear in New Orleans in the middle of May

Matt I know to some people the Grabber was no big deal. But it’s still one of my Dream basses. Do you have a pic of the neck you built for that grabber. Perhaps I’ll have you build a TTG’s Pincher bass for my Next order 😉

Actually I was just thinking about putting an old zenon (great sound with their vintage pickups) in the car to get rid of some back bow warp.....there's no truss rod and I believe someone used epoxy in the 4 neck screws to tighten it up....it won't come off....
I'm thinking about stripping the guitar of everything but the bridge and tuners then tightening the strings a couple steps up over normal....wrap the body in white....putting it in the car for the florida sun to do it's thing. watch it every hour. when I get .010 at normal tension bring it out.

Hmmm, I'm always fascinated by people who can do repairs... I am not one of those people

I fix stuff by shear will.....lots of mistakes but I'm getting there. I can't go wrong on the Zenon....it cost 5.00. The pickups are worth 100.00...amazing sound. I can throw the rest of the guitar away if it's hopeless. I'm finishing up a Kapa continental I got for 10.00...man that was a good day! it has hofner pickups and a hofner neck.....Staple Nova pickup's....one of the best humbuckers I've heard.

Thanks for watching brotherman... this was a pretty bad one. Anyone who does guitar repair work is fighting the good fight.

yep, i have seen how they reset necks and stuff... actually, while i was in highschool, i reset the neck of an old "kay" 12 string acoustic... it was a pain in the neck. i tried to resell it afterwards, but everyone was turned off by the sloppy exposed gorilla foam glue that i had left. i suppose now i know enough to fix the sloppyness, but honestly, that guitar is better off in the trash because it is a super cheap brand to begin with, and it is plywood with a paper veneer that is peeling... it does play decently now though, and sounds like you would expect old plywood to sound like.
needless to say though, resetting a neck is really hard to do, especially if you want to do it right. i am not sure if the repair that ole toasty is doing is easier though, since i think that all the neck needs is a little heat to seperate the glued surfaces, and then some super duper glue to put it back together. however, making a new neck is a big upgrade.

Maybe we will do a video about the new neck when Leo comes to pick it up. We still have to fit it to the body but that will be easy since the Grabber basses were bolt on/screw in necks

I left it in the car overnight by accident and it was at least in there for a few hours in the heat. Am I alright? How can I tell?

      Hi thevisOnary,
In the case of the bass that came into my shop you would be able to tell very easily. I would imagine that if you can't see any obvious issues you are probably okay.
You can check it out and look for any problems to jump out and play it for am hour or two... that way you can sort out any issues and have all the fun of playing guitar for a few hours :)
      Thanks for watching

Don’t keep them in a crawl space or cellar either. The dampness causes some obvious issues. Doesn’t seem to bother the dogs or babies that much, but they shouldn’t be left alone with your guitars anyway. So I also suggest you don’t keep your guitars in the same closet or utility room as your babies or dogs either. Lol
