I am a prison bride - we were MBI and made it through his 10 yr sentence. Additionally he was deported and I moved our family to Mexico to be with him. We made it a total of 18 years prison and deportation. I am currently trying to get a divorce which has proven to be very difficult. All I have to say is to each his own but the fantasy will end and when reality hits - it hits hard. @freeDocumentary thank you for highlighting this subject in a respectful way.

My brother was in and out of prison for around 20 years and he ALWAYS had women chasing him. It was insane to me. He had so many different women giving him money and attention. These women would confess their undying love for him in letters and this would be from GROWN women, many of them mothers. I love my brother but I was like, “ these ladies are trippin.”😂

I was married to a criminal who abused and used the hell out of me, but he was the nicest human being when he was locked up. Many letters and poems, he was the perfect man in jail, his time was spent on me dreaming of the day he got out, these men are not who they really are . If these men were to get out , most women would suffer emensly, not saying all of them would be like that but mostly. Very dangerous waters, ladies.😢

How desperate does a woman have to be to marry an inmate, especially a lifer or one on death row. Zero self esteem. These men have 24/7 to dream stuff up and teach each other too boot. I penpalled with a man thru church outreach, who had death sentence overturned when Illinois a polished it. We were given information on each man. I felt bad that he had no family. I told him in first letter I could not send him money, that I was married. By month 3 he was wanting me to come visit and wanted a hug and kiss. I wrote back reminding him I was married and would be respecting those vows. Then he wanted me to get a phone that my husband would not know about that he could call me on. My husband and I wrote him a joint letter ending the correspondence. They are only interested in their wants.

If he is the head of man, and man follows his lead, he will live his bride. Luke Christ loves the church and gave his life for it. What woman doesn't want to follow that man. I completely agree; that was my initial thought too! As a psychiatric nurse with a psychology background, I have a theory: the way men and women connect emotionally is crucial. Women usually establish emotional connections faster and are more expressive about their feelings. In a prison environment, where social interactions are restricted, this difference stands out even more. While men are certainly capable of forming deep emotional connections, various social and psychological factors might make them less inclined to pursue relationships, especially with someone who is incarcerated.
I think its that a woman will wait years and years for a man and put up with bullcrap. A man wouldn't wait or wait as long for a woman. Also, a single mother who finds "love" with a prisoner might hang on to him because she doesn't think she will find love elsewhere to take on her and her children. This isn't the case for everybody, of course. Just my objective thoughts. 27 YO female without kids. (Please don't argue or say something mean. The comment threads online I've seen are insane.)
@Nurse-Addison nope I was looking at a documentary while back that showed men and women in prison that were dating people on the outside. One of the men was about to propose to his convict girlfriend. I haven't seen the conclusion of it yet will have to start back watching it again.

I feel like the women who knew their partners prior to lockup will last longer then the girls who didn't. Would love a follow up to see where they are now. I'm watching this after just finishing love after lockup.

As a psychiatric nurse with a psychology background, I have a theory: the way men and women connect emotionally is crucial. Women usually establish emotional connections faster and are more expressive about their feelings. In a prison environment, where social interactions are restricted, this difference stands out even more.
While men are certainly capable of forming deep emotional connections, various social and psychological factors might make them less inclined to pursue relationships, especially with someone who is incarcerated.
I think its that a woman will wait years and years for a man and put up with bullcrap. A man wouldn't wait or wait as long for a woman. Also, a single mother who finds "love" with a prisoner might hang on to him because she doesn't think she will find love elsewhere to take on her and her children. This isn't the case for everybody, of course. Just my objective thoughts. 27 YO female without kids. (Please don't argue or say something mean. The comment threads online I've seen are insane.)
@Nurse-Addison nope I was looking at a documentary while back that showed men and women in prison that were dating people on the outside. One of the men was about to propose to his convict girlfriend. I haven't seen the conclusion of it yet will have to start back watching it again.
