I was thinking same thing and he needs some buckets to to make some more nesting boxes! Or just go ahead and build that cabin he wants for them! I also want to say you are a great guy and thanks for giving him this opportunity to keep this RUclips going!
I know you're trying your best, however to be honest: build a new coop. A 6x6x6 wooden house with some roosting perches inside and nesting boxes for laying. Build the main house about a foot off the ground. Get some hinges and latches and build a real door for human access and a smaller chicken door that opens into a fenced in area (also with it's own door for human access) so they can scratch and root during the day but remain protected.
I am 31, make over $130k/ year, workout everyday (have abs), over 6 ft, and I own a house/property (all the things they say will make you happy as a man yet I’m looking to a 21 year old building shit in the woods for motivation. Never question yourself even when your constantly questioning your next move, you’re clearly on the path to success. Hard work trumps all.
Please secure the chicken run secure, any predator can easily get in. Add 2x4's to it like a frame, and another post in the ground to secure/lock the door. Build a coop so no wind or rain can get in while they sleep/roost at night. Use 2x4's for roosting bars, this will allow the chickens to cover their feet in the Winter so they dont get frost bite. Prevent any wind and rain or snow from getting in where they sleep/roost.
@@chrisneely573relax ? Imagine thinking some sticks that are gonna rot away and some chicken wire is gonna be able to protect against any big predator. 🤡
I absolutely love what this young man is doing. I’m certainly no expert on anything, but is that enough space for the chickens? I’m sure Will knows what he’s doing but I had to ask! ♥️
Doesn't look like enough space to me for that many chickens. And I am no expert either. Other people I watch on RUclips have much bigger cages. He could order chicken runs on Amazon and give them much more room. Not to take away all his great skills he has.
Please let them stay in the coop longer than two days! At least two weeks for them to bond better with the property. I dont want you to lose your chicken
You will lose all of those chickens if you let them out tomorrow. My neighbor had about 40 chickens a couple of months ago. But he didn't keep them in the coop more than a day or two. They are ALL gone now. They need more time to discover thier coup is thier home. Many reccomend a month. Then you can safely let them out a few hours before dark and they will head right back to the coop at night.
Hey Will.. you will need to secure that coop as soon as you can.. a predator like Opossum or raccoon will destroy that welded wire. I would hate to have e you come outside to see them all dead..
I'm emotionally invested in your journey and I just started watching your vids earlier this evening haha you better survive Will, you're doing amazing ❤️
Chicken coop: I built mine like a rectangular box on legs where the chickens have a ramp to go up into the box one door with individual compartments inside . In the outside, make it accessible with a hinged door opening up to all compartments. That way you don’t have to go into coop. All you have to do is make sure each nesting compartment has hay to nest & lay there eggs . Just open the door from outside & pickup the eggs . On the ramp , make sure you have small boards of slats so they don’t slip off going up into the door way & compartments to roost & lay eggs .hope you can figure this out , wish I could draw it out. Make sure they have perching up top, water . Feed troughs. Enjoying your video’s! Keep it up buddy!
Just wanted to say I luv you bro. Very very very very very very proud of you. Energy ball homie. Well wishes, you don't need luck 🤞. Thanks for always being you.
You dont need to heat anything.. just as long as it is dry and fairly draft free, they will be perfectly fine.. provide 2x4 on flat side so they can sit on their feet
Def check out fresh egg storage. Hope you get ur garden going good. Cant wait to eatch ur "winter challenge" and alltne prep this summer/fall. I use to watch this show pioneer days on pbs 25+ years ago. Kinda reminds me of that w a modern twist.
So for us in the uk he’s live around 2am. Anyone wanting to ask questions live or take part in what he’s doing more I suggest staying up a little later. Definitely worth watching either way tho. Very entertaining but also could save you someday
A also when pickling I do believe someone else commented this too, but once the food and brine is in the jar I do believe you've got to submerge the jars in boiling water to fully seal them. That little lid part of the jar should suck in before storage and that's what vacuum seals it and when you open the jar it'll give a pop. That's how you know you did it right. But then once you pop it then it needs heat again to reseal it inward. If anyone else can comment on pickling that would help. I've only seen it done. Haven't done it myself
You can only pickle farm fresh eggs like that..the white ones at store have the special coating washed off of it during processing and it needs that to preserve them
That is fantastic protein, ,, Chicken poop is what they call ( very hot ) fertilizer, to strong to use on fragile plants and tender greens, so rake it up to the mountain side or haul it up there and let the grass and worms grow !!!
And with the chickens and the mountain lions, gotta be careful mountain lions might get closer knowing the chickens are there might want to do a little research on how to keep them away. You’re doing a good job. Will keep it up team will survives
Happy Monday bro, its so funny how people always like always bring up Will having to get a girlfriend lol or of he has one. Its really none of our concern 😂. Plenty of time for all that hes young and focused. Nice one with the chickens and Ducks, cant beat fresh eggs, ive never heard of the Lime and water to preserve Eggs thats buzzy, Crazy what one can learn and theres no shortage of education. I thought it was called a 30O6 myself 😂. Have a blessed week ahead Will, Jesse and Everyone else. Hawaii sounds epic
Look up water glassing eggs. water and pickling lime (calcium hydroxide). Put the eggs in with this in large glass jars. You will have fresh eggs all winter. No need to hard boil and pickle all of them. The hens will stop laying in the winter months
Another way to preserve eggs is with butter, and will last up to six months. They last a couple months at room temp if you don’t wash the bloom off them also.
In the 90s I was your age when I landed in Hawaii with $4 and a back pack. 5 years later I left owning 3 acres that I will be returning to in a few years when I retire. Easiest place in the world to live off of the land.
The chickens are sharting all day? Nasty. 😆 Dude, don't worry about a girlfriend until you are where you need to be, unless she can truly handle being up there.
I hate to be critical, but you need a much bigger space for all those birds..( and a building to keep them out of the wind and to roost at night) If they don't have enough space they will start attacking and eating eachother. Look into "water glassing" eggs...you can preserve fresh eggs
Chickens can be Wet, OR Cold and they will survive...but they can't do Wet AND Cold...And as far as heat in a chicken coop---imho you're just asking for respiratory infections. The log cabin coop, with good ventilation would be best. No heat. If you want continuous egg production you can put a light in the cabin part, but that will cause your chickens to stop laying as many eggs way sooner, which is ok if you're going to eat the chickens that get old, and don't mind replacing them.
Chickens usually like a room to go into at night that feels secure you might want to build them a room with walls and boxes for them to lay maybe get a little heat lamp as well it’ll also help with predators at night you could even shut it and open it in the mornings just an idea
Don't let the dogs eat chicken poop. They got weird stuff in their stomachs that other animals can't handle. I've been wanting to mention it but the beginning of this video you mentioned it for me and said what the hell you got chicken poop don't let him eat that keep trucking bro. You're doing all right
You need to keep your chickens in the coop for about 2 weeks and you need to build something for the predators bro they can get in thier easy.. i dont want your chickens to get killed. Just telling you cuz i got chickens myself.
Willy I know your working alot bro and trying to maintain a weight.. Yes all that hard work and sweat and your metabolism is super fast!! I have a system like you do will, I stay lean Aswell.. One thing that's easy to make and helps is the muscle milk protein powder.. 1 serving is 650 calories.. plus all the vitamins.
Be very very careful with water glassing eggs, it's a technique from before we knew that bacteria could penetrate egg shells. Most eggs you water glass will be fine if you do it exactly right, but those that already have salmonella or C. botulinum in them will be a ticking time bomb!
That's so dope!!! Eat them bro.. super good food for you and the dogs! Split a egg in each dog bowl raw and they will love that food with ther raw diet
We might’ve given you too many birds 😂

A coop should be convenient. You shouldn't have to crawl across chicken shit to get your eggs LOL
Definitely need a bigger coop.

Chicken coop on wheels to naturally spread fertilizer in garden
Has to compost before use so that’s worthless
Rock on Will Dirt! Best of luck to you… just be you always! God bless Lad
Ducks really need some sort of pond to be happy.
And chickens need perches.
Chickens have perches
Working on the pond
@@micahaustin1704 excellent!
There is a process called "glassing" eggs that will preserve them...

You really wanna let the chickens stay in the coop for two weeks
Well, you have to keep them in their co-op for like 14 days.
Even twenty one days is good to do.
do an upper 13in shelf all around the inside of the coop with more nest boxes, less on the bottom
Hell ya bro got the poultry friends!!!
Pickling them is cool but with waterglassing you have eggs that are still useable just like fresh ones
You could very easily build a 16 x 20 foot cabin over the summer and finish the interior over the winter .
Just piss around your homestead keeps the animals away somewhat. 30-odd 6 😂😂😂
Build one of these homeboy. You smart enough????
