    I know you're trying your best, however to be honest: build a new coop. A 6x6x6 wooden house with some roosting perches inside and nesting boxes for laying. Build the main house about a foot off the ground. Get some hinges and latches and build a real door for human access and a smaller chicken door that opens into a fenced in area (also with it's own door for human access) so they can scratch and root during the day but remain protected.

    Never question yourself even when your constantly questioning your next move, you’re clearly on the path to success. Hard work trumps all.

    Please secure the chicken run secure, any predator can easily get in. Add 2x4's to it like a frame, and another post in the ground to secure/lock the door. Build a coop so no wind or rain can get in while they sleep/roost at night. Use 2x4's for roosting bars, this will allow the chickens to cover their feet in the Winter so they dont get frost bite. Prevent any wind and rain or snow from getting in where they sleep/roost.

      Doesn't look like enough space to me for that many chickens. And I am no expert either. Other people I watch on RUclips have much bigger cages. He could order chicken runs on Amazon and give them much more room. Not to take away all his great skills he has.

    Please let them stay in the coop longer than two days! At least two weeks for them to bond better with the property. I dont want you to lose your chicken

    • @darrellgibson
      @darrellgibson 14 дней назад +1

      You will lose all of those chickens if you let them out tomorrow. My neighbor had about 40 chickens a couple of months ago. But he didn't keep them in the coop more than a day or two. They are ALL gone now. They need more time to discover thier coup is thier home. Many reccomend a month. Then you can safely let them out a few hours before dark and they will head right back to the coop at night.

    Chicken coop: I built mine like a rectangular box on legs where the chickens have a ramp to go up into the box one door with individual compartments inside . In the outside, make it accessible with a hinged door opening up to all compartments. That way you don’t have to go into coop. All you have to do is make sure each nesting compartment has hay to nest & lay there eggs . Just open the door from outside & pickup the eggs . On the ramp , make sure you have small boards of slats so they don’t slip off going up into the door way & compartments to roost & lay eggs .hope you can figure this out , wish I could draw it out. Make sure they have perching up top, water . Feed troughs. Enjoying your video’s! Keep it up buddy!

    A also when pickling I do believe someone else commented this too, but once the food and brine is in the jar I do believe you've got to submerge the jars in boiling water to fully seal them. That little lid part of the jar should suck in before storage and that's what vacuum seals it and when you open the jar it'll give a pop. That's how you know you did it right. But then once you pop it then it needs heat again to reseal it inward. If anyone else can comment on pickling that would help. I've only seen it done. Haven't done it myself

    Chickens can be Wet, OR Cold and they will survive...but they can't do Wet AND Cold...And as far as heat in a chicken coop---imho you're just asking for respiratory infections. The log cabin coop, with good ventilation would be best. No heat. If you want continuous egg production you can put a light in the cabin part, but that will cause your chickens to stop laying as many eggs way sooner, which is ok if you're going to eat the chickens that get old, and don't mind replacing them.
