Gotta do it sometimes, I don't like getting on my brakes on most curves, prefer to downshift let off gas get into the turn, and the let it rip. But many many times on certain turns I'd be going to fast and of course you need to modulate mid turn pre apex.
When you know how to drive it's alot more fun and if you know how and where to enter and exit a turn using using your gears n throttle you can make the turn sem straight and also fly outta the turn instead of controlling your slide. Racing motorcycles taught me alot more respect than cars cause you got no seat to hold you in.

Both in the same car, but the guy in front is using a custom driving mode and the N button for boost out of corners. Check out the full video. Its Good!
For anyone who cares, as far as I know, hyundai is the only car company that developed an EV that allows you to customize various performance settings. They gave it a pseudo manual stick shift with slowing between shifts and sound through engine and exhaust speakers to ease ICE drivers into EV because most nations in the world are forcing it. Hyundai engineering actually cared about their driving enthusiasts. Also, the boost mode brings the hp to 650 for 10 seconds. I'll drive ICE manual cars until they are illegal, then when I am forced to go EV, hyundai will probably be my pick.
Yes. Hyundai is the first band to indulge in the shifting of BEVs. Here a technical summary how it works: First, it needs to gauge how much "EV-Power" I as a driver want to to use (e.g. full throttle => 100% power). It then needs to modulate (in real time!) the corresponding torque curve of an ICE. This curve depends on: Throttle position, the gear you're in and the current RPM. After this has been simulated, it needs to prepare itself for the gear slam. A gear slam is nothing more, than the electric motors stopping and kicking in rapidly. However, in order to do that you need to know when to ramp down the RPMs of the electric motor in order to still have some reserve left for the gear slam. I hope this makes sense. Also, when you're in N mode you can set almost everything about the car to the setting of your liking. Electronic SlipDiff, ESC, if you want fake sound and if so: What sound? What volume? Also on the outside of the car? Do you want crackles and burbles? etc. The most mindblowing thing however is that you can set the mode that your fake ICE is supposed to be in. So when simulating an ICE car, it also needs to take into account, whether the ICE is in normal or sport mode for example. I have no idea how they pulled all of this off from a technical perspective. But if you told me that it was just real magic doing its work, I'd have to believe you.
Tesla model 3 performance has a track mode in 2017. Like a 20 step traction control all the way to 0. Front to back manuel power management. No fake shifting though but that actually costs performance.
One Lap it's and it done for the day.... battery depleted ,charging for 7hours and the brakes will be shot trying to stop all that weight with tyres turned into melted recycling plant .
