In fact the fine has been overturned by the court . We French muslim women are allowed to wear burkini on the beach. Some policemen who are being overzealous can see their fine overturned. I personnaly wear burkini on French beaches.
JazakaAllahu kheir Sheik for the great lecture and for your clear words and courage. We Muslims should get rid of this black-and-white thinking and have more understanding for each other. May Allah guide and protect our Ummah 🤲
It's one of those agrarian vs post industrial memes. If you say women should not leave her home in an agrarian society.. the home there is a communal space with a court yard and lot's of people... probably also in a tightly knit community so her close ones are nearby. But if you say it in a post industrial era where the house is an isolated apartment.. living becomes impossible. Same case here, a lot of the times the men are actually shitty, and given we don't live in an agrarian society there is no tight knit community to support the women. Also in many united families.. an educated women has more value according to the in-laws, so less household work. Lot's of women go to uni to find a suitable husband as well. There's a lack of parental involvement. thus in a way forcing young folks to fetch for themselves.
@13:45 I need to keep this in mind when trying to 'fix' the Islam of my brothers. I thrive on 'tough love' and 'lessons learned hard way' but I don't think it's effective, it's an emergecy fatwa method I had to go undergo myself. It's not ideal.
90% of working women are tied to desks while strangers look after their children because the cost of living adjusted to the dual income model forcing many women to work whether they want to or not. Women who receive (taxpayer subsidized) higher education and then opt to look after their children instead, constitute a sunk cost.
@fiqhonomics Islam Educates us that women should earn their living through educating their community whilst nurturing & looking after their families-capitalism sought to Rob us of our rights..now capitalism is failing, Allhamdilla
I know. It is absolutely crazy. What kind of backwards society do we live in where we have to question whether women should or shouldn’t get an education? The religion Islam itself encourages both Muslim men and women to seek knowledge.
Assalamu alaikum. The world will turn, as it always has, But shadows stretch where once light passed. The scholars' words, in ink or stone, Will fade like whispers never known. The wisdoms built by hand and mind, The sacred truths, the secrets kind- Will scatter as the winds arise, Lost beneath forgotten skies. The age of Jahiliyah draws near, A time when hearts will shun what's clear. Books once cherished, tongues now mute, Fall silent as we lose the root. The cure for sickness, path to peace, The lessons learned, the love’s increase- All buried in the dust of time, Lost between the thought and rhyme. And when they search, as people do, For traces of what once they knew, The stars will dim, the past erased, The future left an empty place. Yet still, within the hearts of few, A spark remains, a flame held true. Perhaps one day, they'll find the key, And free the knowledge meant to be.
Whilst all that is going on in the world, with millions of us confused as to what to do, how to process things, how to make sense with our faith and the unfolding calamities, death and destruction of everything we hold sacred, you find the time and and sensibility to talk about this!? Are you living in a bubble? Wake-up Shaykh Yasir!
The Taliban know their people and their area- their laws will reflect that- recently there was a news report about how Americans were promoting the growth and sale of opium there which the Taliban has now put an end to- if left to America and their ideals the country would be overrun by drug addicts and war lords and prostitution- if you think that’s hyperbole just study the history of what Britain and America have done during colonial times.
This is very true shaykh! Those self claimed modern Muslim Women usually don’t like hearing any advice from men leaders! How could you help the young Muslim girls?? If our community build more platform for female leaders that may work better and effectively! Those women may not feel as intimidated if they hear it from an educated female Muslim preacher than from a man preacher!
Societies that don’t allow women to be educated or work will always be left behind in the dust. You are losing out on 50% of the talent, knowledge, and ideas. That’s why such societies are always very barbaric like cavemen. I say this as a woman that hates working any job bc most people are severely underpaid and i feel like i’m being used SO i cannot wait to stay home and teach my children and take care of a home. It’s scary to rely only on a man but i received a degree. I have work experience. I’ve built relationships with people in the field. I’ve saved money, I’ve invested (thanks to my husband). I feel safe and my husband fears god so i trust him but at the end of the day you still need to have a safety net!!
The problem isn't education and working. The problem is working in a mixed place where males and females chat with each other freely. The same goes for males of course.
@@grandu9761 If this was a problem then hijab wouldn't need to happen in the first place? The entire purpose of hijab is because men and women will be out in public together and have to communicate with one another. Allah gives us guidelines on how to communicate with non mahrems respectfully. That's why lowering the gaze is a thing, hijab (in the most general definition) is a thing. I think you have a very rigid understanding of Islam. Allah is trying to help us, not burden us
@@Amila-ym7ny Well said! I got educated but didn’t pursue a career for raising my kids. I stayed at home. But now I am encouraging my daughter to have a career. I discourage her to stay at home. Islam doesn’t tell women to stay at home and not pursue any career etc. It’s really sad that many Muslims have this mindset that women have to stay home.
@@banirahman4926 Any stay at home mother should be well educated. She will be the one guiding and teaching the kids until they start school, but even then they will come home to her. When my children ask me questions about history or science I will be able to help them out and explain things. I will be able to read to them and tell them deep intricate stories. I will be able to explain Islam to them in a detailed fashion beyond "cus God said so." An educated wife and mother is so important for the success of your children. It always portrays homemaking in a more positive light to the next generation. Your daughters have to see that this is a good option rather than a dangerous and risky one.
you sound SO brainwashed. 'missing out on 50% of the talent'. uhh yeah.... thats what the goverment tell you because they get paid more tax and that contributes to their GDP. in reality the world is definitely not missing out on 50%.
Women are not allowed to talk LOUD in public places. There is a huge difference between the two, please read the article of the laws in place. Women can become Muhaddithin, Islamic Scholars, all Islamic studies is open to women, studies in Medicine and midwifery too. It’s not completely banned.
They problem with the people in the comment section is they don’t know the reality in Afghanistan. 20 years of foreign occupation totally changed the mindset of our young generation, they have totally lost the sense of haram and halal. Even now the education is not banned, Islamic education is booming, but there are some restriction about modern education. Women freely walk and talk in the public, everyday. I believe if Allah tells the mothers of the believers to stay at home, then our women should also try to become like them.
Topic of discussion aside - what I don't understand is why Dr Qadhi is defaulting on his previous statements that he believes the laws are to be left to the inhabitants of that land, local actors, local legislators etc etc. And that we (who do not inhabitant that land) should not interject our ideals or our principles on them. Its very interesting... 🤔
_"I believe if Allah tells the mothers of the believers to stay at home, then our women should also try to become like them"_ Your belief goes against Quran. What does it say in the verse right before Allah tells them to settle in their homes? "O wives of the Prophet! You are not like any other women." This ruling was made specifically for them, not any other women
When did Allah say women cannot go to school to get an education? Education is encouraged for both men and women in Islam. I hate it when people go to the extremes with Islam and change the religion to suite their own worldviews and such.
But they need secular education too that can help them in their lives...How else will they live in this world today? Look at gaza, there are many muslim women who are highly educated and also have families and have strong faith.
Sheikh: Please understand that the Taliban are not supported by the majority of the Afghan people. Also, please note that a lot of the insecurity and violence and terror was conducted by this group. Of course there is stability and security because they are in power now. Further, this group did not gain control of the government by their own means. Many factors played in the collapse of the former government, such as corruption, high military officials stealing from lower level soldiers’ salaries, not providing them the support needed and instead pocketing the money. Let’s also not forget that our government, the US, gave the Taliban control of Afghanistan on a silver platter. As you mentioned, it is a vicious game, and part of the game is to make Afghans hate and leave Islam. You mentioned the other country that is enforcing the hijab and some other rules in a harsh manner. I do have a lot of Iranian coworkers, and they say about 70% to 80% of the population has left Islam due to the regime there. I have couple of cousins living there, and they pretty much confirmed the high rate of attrition from Islam. Very unfortunate. And my fear is, if the Taliban continue to rule, Afghanistan will suffer the same fate as Iran. I pray to Allah SWT that that does not happen inshaAllah. The depression rate amongst young sisters in Afghanistan is also rising. They have been banned from seeking education and knowledge, and are even prevented from taking walks or enjoying nature outside of their homes. Women in the major cities are living in a huge prison. They can’t even go for walks in parks and majority of recreational facilities. The Taliban’s ideology is that the woman’s place belong her home, and her grave Another unfortunate thing that is occurring in the US is the rise of young men who have become over zealous when it comes to treating their Muslim sisters in social and religious settings as if they are not worthy of even being human beings. I have unfortunately witnessed this on several occasions, even by young Imams. This is especially concerning when dealing with sisters who are on the fence about Islam. Major turn off for them, and majority of them run the opposite direction. These young men do not realize the long term consequences of their actions. I kindly ask of all of you highly respected scholars to focus on this matter. JAK sheikh and may Allah SWT bless and protect you and all the scholars of Islam like you. Ameen ya Rabb Al A’alamin.
Totally agree with you regarding the situation in Afghanistan. The main point people fail to realise is that this group was the reason for the war and instability in the first place, and now they are praised for bringing in the stability and peace when the fact is that they have simply stopped causing it.
I have been to Afghanistan and all I see is how people love them and the Shariah and you see western vloggers proving this too. Please don’t talk for the Afghan nation while you sit ignorantly in the west. Do not compare a shia cult of force compared to ‘Amr bil ma’roof. Remain silent if you’re ignorant.
Women should get their education and work. Both should share the house work. Both should raise their children. Both should be responsible. In God’s eyes they’re both equal.✌🏽🙏✅
When women go through the labour of childbirth and every single month, meaning an entire quarter of the year, go through the pains of blood loss, and not to mention the hormonal roller coaster that comes with it, don’t expect them to perform in the same capacity as men! Where is the fairness in that, tell me?!
Oh girl… I’m a educated working Muslim woman married with two kids. Both me and my husband are exhausted! I would love to be a housewife. That way me and my husband could focus on what we both do best.
7:55 face should be covered. Ref. Sahih bukhari 4141 11:00 both things can be done simultaneously. What you are saying is that we shouldn't punish the thief we should only give him naeeha
In all honesty, female speakers in reality and social media are the ones who are most impacting and shaping the political viewpoints in most aspects. They've got a bigger sense of activism. On the other hand, men are the ones who are supposed to have a bigger political influence but we're slacking right now.
In all honesty and in my opinion, the men have not really done much to benefit our communities. They’re supposed to be the leaders and stuff but they’ve failed miserably hard. And thus, the female speakers and such are the ones having to pick up the slack and do the job or try and make a change. I think the men in our communities are more focused on themselves and how to benefit themselves as opposed to bettering the communities as a whole.
@@RainJio-n6t This is why ignorant people should not be commenting on these things 🙄 you’re misleading yourself and potentially others. May Allah guide us. Women at that time worked and studied as well. There were women who recorded Hadith, and one of these women was Aisha (r.a.) the wife of the prophet (s.a.w.) himself. The prophet’s (s.a.w.) first wife Khadijah (r.a.) was a business woman and the prophet (s.a.w.) used to work for her before they got married. Islam even encourages both Muslim men and women to gain knowledge. There were Muslim women who even fought side by side with the men to defend Islam against the enemies. I think you need to learn more about Islam and educate yourself first before commenting incorrect stuff on RUclips. Being educated and being a working woman does not mean you cannot still be a good wife and mother. There are many educated women who work and take care of their families. But it’s funny how the topic is always about women being good wives, but people like you don’t like to talk about men being good husbands. It goes both ways and as the man in Islam, you have more responsibility over your family than anyone else. So encourage your brothers to be better husbands and fathers too.
@iammar1159 Thank you for being polite, but unfortunately, your views on Islam are a bit swayed. During the period of "revelation," many different scenarios occurred as islam was not completed yet. So even if you take the examples from wives of Rasool s.a.w., you need to take from the time they joined Islam. Secondly, Khadija r.a. DID NOT engage in business with men directly...she used her slaves, and her male relatives as delegation. Khadija r a. was a christian before she married rasool. When she married rasool saw, she became a traditional housewive while the nabi rasool took on her business and gave her the profits.
Do we need Female Doctors and Teachers, or not? If we are to maintain gender separation, then we need female professionals. Is it obligatory for every Muslim to seek knowledge, or not?
I dont reaaly care what you hoever we is need or dont need, it dependsif the person female or male wnts to become a doctor or a lawyer or whatever, that has nothing to do with we or you or him or that. stop trying to control others lives, ps i have never heard of gender seperation in surgery. i dont think there is a differnece in havjing a female or male doctor preforming surgery on a male or female.
Of course-one needs to ask themselves WHO stopped this as it was definitely not our Beloved Holy Prophet (S) & His Holy Ahlulbayt (AS)-it would only be a Hypocrite ☝🏻💡
Genuinely, i beg everyone to look past the clickbait title and watch it fully. Both faithful and dissenter. Ive been a lifelong catholic who admittedly came upon professor qadhi looking for a debate since a colleague of mine discussed him. And across the half dozen or so videos of his ive kept watching, ive found a calm and reasonable and well educated man who has branched out to learning about other faiths and still comes back to Islam without doubt. Mild spoilers for the video: should women stay at home? Basically, if depends. But nobody can or should force their will upon her, whether she chooses to stay or chooses to go off. And education is and has always been her right.
calling women's education a controversial topic is already giving critics something to stand on. how can education be controversial in islam when allah commands us to learn and travel and explore. we would never say men's education is controversial. so why should it be any different for women.
It is controversial topic as it stands today in Muslim world. Especially in south Asia and many arab lands. Calling spade a spade isn't wrong. Explanation of it is what we are after and its worth listening.
@@abumahi8802 I don't think you heard the full lecture. Maybe first listen to the whole lecture then give opinion, or better stay quiet if your opinion is to disrupt harmony cause divisions further.
It is only Islam that made “seeking for knowledge is mandatory on all men and women” statement as part of the legislation. A party that was recently (and still is) known for considering woman as a creature less than a human being can never claim to uphold the morale to teach others about the women’s right.
and what did he say about the ban on education for girls??? NOTHING!!! It´s a basic human right which isn´t even touched by any specific religion and he is silent about denying that human right to half of that´specific muslim country`s population.
@sumayyabhorat790 What did bibi aisha r.a. do? She was a traditional home maker for majority of her life. And dont ever bring up Khadija R.a. saying she went out and do business lol..
Shariah is a civil law man made and the problem is literalism ,law before principle Quran focuses ethics not specific law so it should be interpret time and place
I don’t think the title of this RUclips video actually represents what the video is about. I think he spends maybe 30 seconds or less on the topic of education. I think it would be official to change the title of the video to make it more representative of what the lecture was about

I would kinda like a part 2 to this where it talks about what a Muslim woman in the west should be aiming for: Education/career or stay at home mum.
REAL Islam, as in the Islam of our Beloved Holy Prophet (S) & His Holy Ahlulbayt (AS), Educates us that Muslimahs should earn their living by educating their cimmunity-females being the Natural Nurturers..the Blessed Daughter of Rasool Allah (S) is the proof of this , Allhamdilla She (SA) would educate Her community, whilst also operating a Hijab business-beautiful traits inherited from Her Blessed Mother, Sayeda Khadijah (SA) , Allhamdilla 🤲🏻💚
whatever they want
Mashallah respect for brother very good observation and analysis Sadly muslim people and leaders don't have any clue about their enemies
JazakaAllahu kheir sheikh. Following and benefitting from your preaching, from east africa
I’d love to stay home, but I don’t know of a single man who can afford all the bills by himself. So I have to work to support my husband.
It is true, it’s vital that the truth is spoken as society today is confusing enough. It’s important to discuss these issues.
May Allah SWT'S guidance and protection be upon you and every Muslim.
In the Name of Allah, the Absolutely Merciful, the Especially Merciful, The Most Loving. Yes I believe women should get an education according to the best of their abilities, they may also self educate themselves by seeking good beneficial knowledge through reading, writing, and communication. Allah (swt) encourages both men and women to work together in a just society for the betterment of humanity. Allahuakbar may Allah grant us ease and goodness, ameen.
I've only just started listening, and I'm already pretty sure the answer is they shouldn't stay at home because of the times we live in
He didn’t address the topic 😂😂
Alhamdulillah. May Allah bless you
May Allah SWT protect and preserve you Shaykh Dr. Quadhi. You are an amazing and eloquent speaker with so much knowledge MashaAllah! JZAK for all your efforts enlightening the Ummah about topics and subject that matter the most. 🤲🏻🤲🏻
We are DOOMED if we rely on news from BBC FOX AND THE REST
News? You call propaganda news?
Love that brother yasir is taking on these contrevertial topics
BarkAllah!
جزاك الله خيرا
The right to education doesnt mean women should go to work and be a co-provider
The brother barely touched on the point of the topic in detail but rather just criticized the West. Fair criticism but i didnt come for that. I came to learn about women working outside the house and the nuisances around it
The title doesn't really go with the topic
Absolutely 💯 fact!!!
Exactly
Yes I too noticed that
I was waiting if I can get the answer if i should stay home or continue pursuing my career 😅 i haven’t got the answer
Alhamdulillah Rabbiyal Alamin.

Alhumdulillah for the blessing given to us by Allah (swt) to thrive and implement our faith in our country as best as we can. Hopefully, our country with Allah (swt)’s guidance and authority can begin reevaluating some of its foreign policies in sha Allah. Thank you very much for sharing your wisdom regarding the importance of permissibility of dignified speech by women, the education of female scholars in the past, and the beauty of our religion’s morality and dress code. Your discussion of the respect of the face covering, obligation of the hijab, and administering indecency and morality laws through “soft power” was exceptionally explained and greatly appreciated! Pleeease discuss in detail the importance of promoting women’s education and success through halaal means in sha Allah.

Well said Dr.Qadhi 🙌🏻 wish we had more mens with your knowledge & your amazing behavior.
As far as those who criticize you they are low level uneducated one dimensional individuals who has NO rights to comment about you !
All hale and respect to you 🙏🏻
Not really, he is just reforming.
I am an Afghan and the majority of Afghans don't agree to what Taliban impose restrictions on girls education. They follow the culture rather than the religion of islam.
I am glad to hear your view. But then how did they succeed so easily in taking over with no objection or protest?
Mashallah, very well articulated, particularly about the selective outrage of these western regimes.
In fact the fine has been overturned by the court . We French muslim women are allowed to wear burkini on the beach. Some policemen who are being overzealous can see their fine overturned. I personnaly wear burkini on French beaches.
God bless French
JazakaAllahu kheir Sheik for the great lecture and for your clear words and courage. If we only understood Islam as mercy and relief and took our Prophet Mohammed saw. as an example, then we would be in a better situation. We Muslims should get rid of this black-and-white thinking and have more understanding for each other. May Allah guide and protect our Ummah 🤲
What should women do who want to stay at home but run away to work because they find working to be more peaceful than staying at home with in laws
This is live? Sound already eared. But Ma sha Allah!
very good opinion. The dawa scene is better with you
It's one of those agrarian vs post industrial memes.
Excellent point.
On point
SUPOORT FROM AFGHANISTAN.
@13:45 I need to keep this in mind when trying to 'fix' the Islam of my brothers. I thrive on 'tough love' and 'lessons learned hard way' but I don't think it's effective, it's an emergecy fatwa method I had to go undergo myself. It's not ideal.
Ameen
I live in America… I can’t find a single man who can afford to have a housewife.
Half way in and I’m still waiting for him to make a point…
The fact that we even have to ask whether women are allowed to be educated is insane.
Thank God for SHIA ISLAM-the REAL Sunnah , Allhamdilla 🤲🏻💚
The scholars' words, in ink or stone,
Will fade like whispers never known.
The wisdoms built by hand and mind,
The sacred truths, the secrets kind-
Will scatter as the winds arise,
Lost beneath forgotten skies.
The age of Jahiliyah draws near,
A time when hearts will shun what's clear.
Books once cherished, tongues now mute,
Fall silent as we lose the root.
The cure for sickness, path to peace,
The lessons learned, the love’s increase-
All buried in the dust of time,
Lost between the thought and rhyme.
And when they search, as people do,
For traces of what once they knew,
The stars will dim, the past erased,
The future left an empty place.
Yet still, within the hearts of few,
A spark remains, a flame held true.
Perhaps one day, they'll find the key,
And free the knowledge meant to be.
MashaAllah this gave me goosebumps
WaAlaikumassalam warehmatullahi wabarakatuhu

Well said! I got educated but didn’t pursue a career for raising my kids. I stayed at home. But now I am encouraging my daughter to have a career. I discourage her to stay at home. Islam doesn’t tell women to stay at home and not pursue any career etc. It’s really sad that many Muslims have this mindset that women
have to stay home.
❤
no taat to makhluk if doing maksiyat to Allah. if any issu does not oppose what Allah said, proceed
We’re talking about Afghanistan of course.
When your daughter needs to go to a gynecologist who will she go to?
Topic of discussion aside - what I don't understand is why Dr Qadhi is defaulting on his previous statements that he believes the laws are to be left to the inhabitants of that land, local actors, local legislators etc etc. And that we (who do not inhabitant that land) should not interject our ideals or our principles on them. Its very interesting... 🤔
_"I believe if Allah tells the mothers of the believers to stay at home, then our women should also try to become like them"_
Your belief goes against Quran.
The Taliban’s ideology is that the woman’s place belong her home, and her grave
Another unfortunate thing that is occurring in the US is the rise of young men who have become over zealous when it comes to treating their Muslim sisters in social and religious settings as if they are not worthy of even being human beings.
RESPECT TO TALIBAN...DA HELL WITH U LIBERALIZED MUSLIMS
Completely agree with you spot on.
@@abdulwasialikhailare you actually sane? The US invaded the country.
Women should provide for the entire household then?
Oh girl… I’m a educated working Muslim woman married with two kids. Both me and my husband are exhausted! I would love to be a housewife. That way me and my husband could focus on what we both do best.

In all honesty, female speakers in reality and social media are the ones who are most impacting and shaping the political viewpoints in most aspects. They've got a bigger sense of activism. On the other hand, men are the ones who are supposed to have a bigger political influence but we're slacking right now.
Shut up
What’s your proof
Observation
Because men nowadays are busy being misogynistic
In all honesty and in my opinion, the men have not really done much to benefit our communities. They’re supposed to be the leaders and stuff but they’ve failed miserably hard. And thus, the female speakers and such are the ones having to pick up the slack and do the job or try and make a change. I think the men in our communities are more focused on themselves and how to benefit themselves as opposed to bettering the communities as a whole.
❤❤❤❤❤
It was a good talk but he didn’t answer the question mentioned in the title…can he do a part 2?
He did he said that during the time of the prophet ﷺ it was never mentioned
@G_1allah What are u talking about? Many of the wives were traditional, and stayed home and obeyed their husband's. Not like todays wild women.
Is it obligatory for every Muslim to seek knowledge, or not?
from the Cradle to the Grave
I dont reaaly care what you hoever we is need or dont need, it dependsif the person female or male wnts to become a doctor or a lawyer or whatever, that has nothing to do with we or you or him or that. stop trying to control others lives, ps i have never heard of gender seperation in surgery. i dont think there is a differnece in havjing a female or male doctor preforming surgery on a male or female.
You seem like you need an education to expand your narrow mind.

The controversiality he is mentioning is about women’s going out of home, not about education. That’s clear.
@@abumahi8802 I don't think you heard the full lecture. Maybe first listen to the whole lecture then give opinion, or better stay quiet if your opinion is to disrupt harmony cause divisions further.
It's the muslim world and a specific part of the muslim world. Bosniaks don't have these conversations from my own experience lol
@abumahi8802 clearly in the western world its a greater fitnah for men to go outside of home than for well covered muslim women
I remember when i believed a western education was a positive thing.... back when i was brainwashed by a western education lol

I don’t think the title of this RUclips video actually represents what the video is about. I think he spends maybe 30 seconds or less on the topic of education. I think it would be official to change the title of the video to make it more representative of what the lecture was about
looking forward to Daniel's 5 hour critical miss-analysis
Making halal haram and being extreme on any side causing people to leave Islam. If the prophet didn't make something haram, then people using principe as an excuse to be harsher always leads to riddah
